Skinners Farming Area Guide

This guide is basically a forum guide to good skinning areas...

  1. My favorite place to skin is in the level 20 to 25 rane in the barrens south of Camp Taurajo, all the way down to where the road spilts into RFK, RFD, and 1k Needles... everything on the left side of the map are beasts minus the alliance outrunners, and the Dwarven mining site, this typically leans toward a horde area... one because you can hearth or take a short walk to camp T once your full up on supplies and fly to TB or ORG, and two, because, well, your right in the middle of horde territorry, slthough not as futile as running into Mulgore as a Night Elf, its still pretty uselles with all the horde CPU's walking around... ANYWAY if your not a skinner than just farm the mining area on the end of the southeast wall, and on your way back and forth, look for herbs... the ones that i have found here are (they range from most common to the most hardest to find): Mageroyal, Peacebloom, Briarthorn. Kingsblood, and those Wild Steelblooms, I dont know if thats there real name, but its close if it isnt

  2. 1k needles southern wall worked out for my skinning needs, level ranges from 26 to 28 mobs... so 24 to 30 would be the ideal level range. Hyenas and Cloud Serpents are mostly here cept for the uncommon Kobold miner (why dont THEY get jumped by the Crag Stalkers when they are trying to mine???) and Crag Stalkers... They drop heavy leather and start to drop multiple medium leather... so a stack of medium leather sells for 50s AH price i sell mine for 25s perstack and heavy keather i sell for 50s perstack and it sells for near a gold on the AH... all r here and after an hours time, your gonna have your new set of powers covered along with all your other stuff that you dont need at all...

  3. Still in 1k... the Simmering Flatts is another good skinning area... minus the birds and silithus bugs, there are turtles, scorpids, and basilisks her in ther own individual areas! its laid out and organiaed for you!!! what could be any better? Kingsblood is everywhere... so those herbalists who are just reading around here is another good grinding area, lol
  4. (part two): If you grow tired of killing crocs and turtles and the heat is getting to you, go to a more exciting place... Stranglethorn Vale... this might work better for you than Simmering flatts and the level range is a level or two higher than what the flatts get up to, Tigers, panthers, and Raptors await you here... south of Grom' Gol there are alot of raptors packed together, so watch out for pulling alot of them out at once ( this is not the best place for warriors or pallies or anyother melee user) then up on the river there is an outpost where you cna get quests for all three types of these animals that yield acceptable experience... the tigers are all over the place the panthers are in a plain east of the encampment and ALL of these animals can be skinned for heavy leather and the excepsional stubborn medium leather that drops

  5. for rugged leather the best place to farm is the Yetis in Winterspring. Unfortunately, on many servers this is also a prefered farm bot spot as they are easy to kill and also drop cash.
