Different Niches In The Economy Pt1 (revised)

So, you hit 70?!!
Nice, gratz,kthx.

What now, your half green and blue you just managed to scrape a flyer thats slower than my granny and Karazhan is on your to do list.

Your freinds are getting all these random world epixx, cashing in. Whilst you are stuck trying to get rep and attunements. Ofcourse RL calls, WoW is at the bottom of your priority list (well it should be) and you dont want to spend all your play time grinding levels, grinding cash, grinding mats.
(Btw you are now entering the world of motecraft)

This is general, and there are several tips and guides i will explain.

Simple Gold Making Techniques

1, Buy Low sell HIGH!. Now you've probably heard this before but I'm going to give some examples and get more specific.

You often see people selling raw materials in the Trade channels, things to look out for:
-High End Cloth
-Motes
-Ores or Bars
-BoE blues
-Certain Recipies
-Rep increasing items

With high end cloth the majority of it tends to be Netherweave, which is in good supply but also in good demand. So to profit from this you must check the AH, find the average price (don't undercut to much, this lowers profits) ask out in Trade channel "WTB Netherweave cloth" if you get replies ask for a price that is 1.5-3g cheaper than AH depending on the AH price. But this means you have to buy in bulk, although you still get more profit in the end. So you've bought 10 stacks of Cloth, for 2g a stack. AH each stack for 4g or depending on what you server demands are (1.5g -3g more than what you bought for). Tactics such as 3.99 BO are effecting because people think they are paying 3G but in reality they are paying 4G. If this was done with good succes you have almost double your original spent cash. Endnote :Buying in bulk really helps in this case, and een if you dont get double what you paid for you still profit more or less depedning on the amount of cloth you bought.

Motes, control our economy. There prices rise and fall as demands increase and decrease.
This example is more profitable in long term but once the original spent is made back (which based on the amount made per unit is quick) the profit just keeps on rising.

Take the tradeskill alchemy, powerlevel it ( I don't care how but the less you spend the better obviously)
Spec Transmutation. This will cost im told (500g) in motes i think although if your class is adept at farming then do it yourself. Get the recipie transmute earth to water. On most servers Water is worth 4 times Earth, so youve done transmutation it procs suddenly your profit has been quadrupled. Thats roughly 120g for 1 minute of transmutation. Wait a day, do this again you should get atleast 20g minimum profit per transmute, even better if somones asks you to do it and they offer you more and supply the primal earth.
This is much more useful for those who don't get alot of playtime, but can still rake in 20-140g a day depending on there luck and 1 minute work.
Another transmute which is quite profitable is arcanite. Arcance crystal goes for max 4g my server, thorium max 2g per bar. 6g total. Transmute sell for 14g BO if it procs same as above.

Ores and Bars supply the materials for three tradeskills. Its simple really. Find a map of an area (nagrand, HFP) and do circuits, my usual route on a normal flyer yeilds between 80-200g in off hours.
However if your not wanting to compete with farmers I'd suggest Winterspring and rich thorium veins. A place to start would be search the enitre southern area with the elites, then loop around the edges and come back to the southern most area. This can yeild 80 thorium bar which on my server can sell for max 240g. Not counting the gems.

BoE blues are a good way of making money, although you need cash to make cash with this strategy
Things to look for are blues that have alot of one or two stats for ther level and also have a good dps for the level. Things in the 19lvl range are in high demand because people want to twink out there rougues and warriors in the Lowest level bracket of pvp. A reasonable place to farm these BoE blues is
Shadowfang Keep
Centaurs In 1k Needles (Galak I believe)
SM Graveyard

Also, running lower level players through instaces can be very profitable, say you take a group of 4 people and yourself through deadmines 5g a head. Thats 20G for about 30 mins work at lvl 70.

Certain recipies of all tradeskills have value, but you must know your AH to know their worth.

Crusader enchant recipie average price 110g, buy this if its 70g- and resell for average price that a good profit for simple common sense.

Another example is steel weapon chain, which is an uncommon blacksmithing recipie but is as rare as random world drop epics. This sells for 300-400g and if you see one for 50g- buy it as quickly as possible and resell.

Items that give reputation gain with certain factions are very sought after. Mainly because people dont want to grind it them selves they'd rather buy the required items and just hand them in. This is where you come in, people will often spam WTS marks/sigents or armaments/tomes. Again know your AH if what they are asking of buyers is very little and a good profit could be made of it, go ahead and ask them if they want to sell you there items for X gold. Somtimes people sell say a stack of 200 but for a sharply reduced price to normal single stacks if bought in bulk. An excellent way to profit from this is then dividing into stacks and reselling for just under the maximum-average price (10 silver diference in BO prices) This will yeild you more G per signet and leave you maybe 30-40G better off depending on Ah price and original money spent.

2,Getting the materials youself, where to get them, who to sell them to and how much.

So you've just dinged 70 bought your mount blah blah blah. But you need cash, this section will tell you how you can go about making good amounts of gold just by circuit grinding.

There are four materials you can grind:
Ore
Leather
Cloth
Primals

I shall start with leather. Skinning is the art of killing beasts and then taking there skins, but beasts do not just drop skins but scales and hides. So how do i profit from this? Simple I shall list the steps in order for maximum profit, however i would like to point out that although there is some money in knothide leather there is much more money in other places of the realm which can only be taken through skinning.

1, Know you AH, do a price check on Cobra Scales
2, Go to Shadowmoon Valley, stock up on food, arrows, water whatever is necessary for efficient killing.
3, Go to Coilskar Cistern, this is possibly one of the best places to make cash as a skinner.
4, Grind on the naga and the COILSKAR COBRAS.
5, Skin the cobras loot the naga
6, This will yeild lots of normal leather (knothide usually 5g a stack)
2-3 cobra scales (depending on server price 60-120g)
several greens and perhaps a blue also lots of cloth will drop (4g per stack of netherweave my server)
7, I did this for about 2 hours one night as a Beast Mastery hunter. Made about 200g, got 6 scales and 3 greens and alot of leather, the reason for so many drops is that I practically didnt stop killing mobs.
However, if it just leather you are seeking Nagrand is porbably the most populated area (Beasts in talking about) in the game, so head over there and grind leather to your hearts content.

I find this efficient because 2 of the above listed, are dropped here.

Now onto Ores and Bars.
Genuinly most servers have primarily similar prices and demands so im going to tell you what one of the largest commodities in demand is. Adamantite.

Yet again i shall list step by step a way to profit hugely from farming this needed material. But first please do the following. Check your AH for prices on Ores and Bars. Please also take into acount that it takes 2 ores for one bar so if you get more profit from ore, sell ores in stacks not bars.

The key to successfully mining large amount of adamantite is doin circuits of vein rich areas. These areas are primarily Nagrand and Blades Edge Mountain.

I will link maps which show where ore nodes have been found commonly.
http://www.wowhead.com/?object=181556 for Blades
http://www.wowhead.com/?object=181556 for Nagrand

Now the most efficient circuit for Nagrand is to do a lazy figure eight from hemets sarfari camp curving to garadar, then curving to warmaul hills, the going south to Twilight Grove then from there go directly to Burning Blade ruins. Rinse and Repeat. Sending to Bank alt when passing over Garadar.

For efficient mining in Blades I would suggest somthing like the following:
Start at the node concentration south of Bloodmaul outpost, then fly to bladespire hold , then fly to ravens wood cavern check in there. Once youve exited the cavern immediatly fly towards Gruuls Lair, then north to felstorm point, then from there fly a curving point towards forge camp anger, then south directly to Deaths Door. Then Southwest to Vekharr stand.

This is as i found my favourite route as i would often find a khorium node along the way. This can yeild roughly 70-230 adamantite ore several gems perhaps a few blue gems and maybe some khorium.
Which on my server can yeild 100-300 G and about 10g worth of green gems and a blue of about 50g. If im extra lucky the khorium would yeild and extra 15g.

Now this circuit can take as much as 2 hours if done right, but the amount of ore that should be collected is enourmous.

Jewels are a new and profitable feature added in the BC as I'm sure you all know. Gems vary in value and obviously the blue ones or rare ones are going to be worth more. Incidently often you will find several green gems and a few blue gems in you mining travels. Although selling them is extremely profitable keeping them and saving them for your own sockets is even better, saving you hundreds of gold in the long run.

And finally Primals.
There are only 2 places that I have ever found uncontested and bountiful.
Skald, is in northern Blades Edge Mountains, its inhabitants are fire elementals and imps.
Both lvl 67-68 they are quite easily farmed. This location is hallowed because both mobs have a good chance to drop 1-2 motes of fire. After and hour of farming this yeilded 6 primal fires. If the price is right on your server, these primals can skyrocket to over 30g, but im my case only 27g. SO i sold these 6 primal fires 167G right there, not to mention the greens and greys and runecloth that dropped. After farming there i was up to almost 200g with only 1 death which was unlucky.

And the other is primal water. Im probably going to regret this but maybe the only unfarmed hotspot for these is right next to Shattrath. The lake north of Shatt is filled with eels, these blighters are similar to imps but have an excellent drop rate for motes of water. These primals are worth slightly less than fires but you can still have massive profits.

This section is in response to what i thought was a suggestion. As the comment says farming herbs is a very lucrative tradeskill as there is always a demand. But I dont have anything other to add to that fact. It is a constant so its always worth somthing.

Skinning will , i beleive have a massive spike in leather prices as we enter Northrend, people who want to lvl leatherworking will be buying leather non-stop. And if you skin while you level its easy profits not going out of your way. This fact applies to all trade skills.

These are only some examples of how to make cash depending on the amount of time you have to burn.

Different Niches In The Economy Pt. 2

Hello Again,
This is the second part of my guide chain Different Niches in The Economy.

So you've read up on some general Gold making strategies, and its my fault but these guides are generally aimed at those who have one or more 70s and have some game experiance.

This part of my guide is going to be aimed at the lower levels 1-30, I will explain brilliant strategies that can be completed whilst questing away, grinding or doing whatever it is that you do!
Secondly this guide is only oriented at horde players, and im sorry for all you alliance but the farthest ive gone is a 20 warrior so i havn't done any what i like to call "field research".

As a final note MAKE ANOTHER LVL 1 TOON THAT YOU SHALL SEND YOUR ITEMS TO SO YOU CAN SAVE BANK SPACE.

Also this guide I base on my new warlock who is my main on this server Laughing out loud
The contents of this next guide will entail:
How to get 50G under level 15 without leaving durotar,
"Is it possible?"
Farming the cloth that makes you RICH(including the where and how),
"Lawl lowbie cloth aint worth nuttin"
Looking out for certain lowbie recipies that are worth there weight in gold!,
"As if"
Which mobs yeild many greens and good vendour trash,
"ORLY"
HowTailoring can yeild several gold under skill lvl 150!
"WHAT!??!!"

This is What I Did.

Leveling up in Valley of Trials and around Senjin Village.
Once I was done and around the right level to move up to the Razor Hill quest hub, once in Razor hill take up mining. Now unless your a hunter and its completely necessary don't turn of Track Minerals. At this point I also decided to pick up tailoring but you can take anything else (skinning or herbalism is a better choice for a good cash flow). (Later I will explain how to make money with other professions apart from tailoring at this lower level).

Now the first strategy comes into play, with you mining on do circuits of Durotar once around the outside of the Valley of Trials area , there is a large valley like place a little NW of Senjin, Do a lap or two of the ouside of this area, killing everything as you go, skinning/herbing/looting.
If you get bored of this and your bags are only full of consumables that you absolutley need or ore/leather/herbs go send everything you have to your bank alt, perhaps selling a stack or two of your materials and any good greys you might have acquired.

Try to acquire as much silver as possible and buy a bag. Also there is a questgiver a little NW of Razor Hill (RH) gives a 6 slot bag for completing an easy quest in which you have to kill humainoids for cloth craps.

If your 13-14 the next circuit for copper you should do would be around the large gulley where the thunder lizards and a minority of Burning Blade cultists roam. Basically run laps around the top of the gulleys and if you see an outcroping of rocks go investigate (it may yeild more copper). All the while killing things and skinning/herbing.

Once your bag/s are full head back to RH yet again save any of the lesser materials for vendour selling and mail all your ore/herbs (and if you have alot of leather) to your bank alt.

Now if you want you can continue these circuits going from one to the other and the copper will respawn as you leave one area an begin mining in another. Spend say 2 hours of this, you will have 50+ G of copper ore/bars.

IMPORTANT!-->One other thing I will mention is that bagpace=more ore. This means more money and the bags will pay for themselves 10 fold if the long run. Also check the Auction House (Now AH) for the median prices on ore and always either keep you price 1-2 silver below the median price, or price gouge if no one else is around to compete with you. But by price gouge I mean increase the median price by almost 40-70 silver, gouge to much and no-one will buy your wares. Also this should be done with all herbs and leather although they will sell for considerably less than copper.

Now onto Farming the cloth that will make you RICH

Wool cloth.
On the servers i have played on these go for 2.5G plus a stack, which is usually more than copper ore/bars.
I would suggest you are lvl 18-20 and know how to grind effectively. Free up all your bag space, apart from the necessary water or food.

For the people who are living in the Barrens in their late teens head to Bael Modan in Southern Barrens.
Only loot greens/blues and wool cloth discard any linen or greys ( or don't if you only plan to spend 30-50 mins there).

When I was doing this I spent around 1.1 hours there and dinged twice 20-21 had about 30 greens a blue and about 11 stacks of Wool Cloth. The Wool Cloth alone yeilded 30g give or take 5 silver, all my Wool was sold on BO of 2.99G on the AH. And only 23 of the 30 greens sold ( I was careful to only loot the greens with sought after stats on the right weapons/armour for instance no one wants a mail chestpeice of spirit) Because I only sold the greens for a maximum of 80 silver each they only yeailded around 10G total. Because I'm a Warlock I found that the blue that dropped was probably the only blue i could want at that level, a nice wand Skycaller. I checked ah and somone already had one up for 44G , so i decided instead of undercutting i would use the item, which i must say even 10 levels above the level requirement its dps is still superior.

The only other good place I've found personally is at Durholde keep , which is near Tarren Mill.
I did a similar run but it only yeilded about 7 stacks of wool cloth and several greens (I was there about 40 mins). Although sigificantly less its closer to a town and a graveyard, so i guess the downtime of running back and forth to send to a bank alt is lessened significantly. In total the amount of gold collected at the end was approx. 18G and I leveled to 23 through the grinding.

I have only given two examples as I havn't found any other places that best the wool drops but if you have found one please post a forum subject so I can read it and perhaps add it to my guide. So at level 23 i was sitting on 74.71 Gold.

The Recipies
Savourey Deviate Delight.
Elixier of Giant Growth

This part I found is based on luck and may or may not apply to you so don't go out of your way to grind this.

This is quite sought after by alchemists because its very popular with the WoW community. Transforming them into Ninja's or Pirate's the funny consumble i worth 2-3 g a pop so the recipie is worth something itself obviously.

When editing this guide i also thought it would be approprate to add that another recipie of WORTH dropped whilst i was leveling and grinding cash. The recipie for the elixier of giant growth. This sold for almost 40G BO which was considerable because it was thinking of vendouring it Laughing out loud.

Although I may have been insanely lucky this recipie dropped twice for me druing my time in the Barrens. Now depending on what the AH says these can go for 20G or 3 G but either way its all cash so try to get the most out of it. Both of mine sold for 13G which was the minimum bid i put up. That 26 right there, putting my Warlock up to 91G after buying new skills and such.

Mobs that drop LOTS of Greens.

The Turtles SE of The Crossroads dropped many, many greens for me the average drop rate was 1 every 9-15 kills. This is a favoured spot because ore nodes spawn quickly in the pool of water.

The other place which is great to make a quick few G is the Centaurs NW,SW and SE of the Crossroads. They drop cloth, greens and worthy greys. Also ore nodes spawn around these general areas which is a boon to the gold making. Also they can drop the Kolkar booty key, which lets you open a certain chest which has a very high chance of containing a green of some sort.

Finally, how to make money with the tradeskill Tailoring.

At these lower levels the greens that can be made via tailoring are pretty terrible and not worth the materials, however the one thing that is worth the cash is Woolen Bags, learnt at level 90 Tailoring these bags are worth almost double there mat cost. But this is quite circumstancial because bgs need to be in demand, people need to have a want and if you just AH these without doing a little background checking your more than likely to get screwed over.

To Be Continued

Endnote.
As I read over this it seems that its not very helpful, and I had to rush it because I can't see much time in the future to do it again. Regardless please comment on this or send me and email at
or post a forum topic so other people and I can discuss your ideas and points of veiw. Please rate this and I'm sorry but I havn't had time to edit the spelling and grammar, and there is much more to add.

Conclusion: As you can see if you just follow how the game prompts you to go, you can still make considerable money at lower levels you just need the know how, which i hope i have provided somwhat. But remember to pick up if anything mining. It is the way i see the only way to make large amounts of money.

That's all for now.Jawdropping!
