***I won't say this is going to be easy or fast.
***Part of this guide was posted on this site, buying the item on AH and DEing it. and or buying other items same lvl and DEing them. This is the complete system of providing your own income and not waiting for the AH to sell the item s.
***This is proven to work.. these item is the cheapest to make and it has the highest probability of disenchanting into the matterials that SELL.
But if you find yourself starting on a new server, or you have low lvl characters on your account this method rakes in a good amount of gold until you get to Outland. I fu have a high lvl account you find yourself helping a guild buddy with some quests, you still farm for dragons breath and whipper root. even if you are lvl 70 you still play in azeroth. This will make the extra gold you need in no time. get am ount at 40? an epic one at 60? a flying mount? we all need the extra piece of gold.
To start
First you will need to have at least 2 characters. first toon will have Skinning and Leather Working as professions and second will have Tailoring and Enchanting.
I will advice horde players to use a Blood Elf for both toons or at least for the Enchanter one. Blood Elfs have extra 10 Enchanting points to begin with. Use the LW profession to make green disenchantable items same for Tailoring. Why i chose Tailoring? Since you will bring up 2 characters you will have a lot of linen/wool/silk to spare use it to get Enchanting matterials. don't waste it on First Aid unless you really think you need it. if you plan on using this characters for more then what this guide is for.
Use the lvl'ing/professions guides to lvl the enchanter to at least 20 so you can DE lvl 55 and up items(skill of 200 is required) and the LW to at least lvl 35 and LW skill of 280.
At 280 LW skill you will be able to make [item]Wicked Leather headband[/item]s. Those ARE the cheapest green item in game that disenchant to 3 of the highest enchanting materials (Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essence and Large Brilliant Shards)
one [item]Wicked Leather Headband[/item] is made of:
12x [item]Rugged Leather[/item] (current price of RL on my server is 5g for a stack of 20, so 3g for 12RL)
1x [item]Black Dye[/item] vendor price of 10s(it will be 9 by the time u get to 35)
1x [item]Rune Thread[/item] vendor price of 50s(45)
for a total price of 3.55g rounded up with mail cost.
one [item]Wicked Leather Headband[/item] disenchants into:
[item]Illusion Dust[/item] 116.3% (over 100% will mean sometimes you will get 2 [item]Illusion Dust[/item] for one disenchant; 2-3g)
[item]Greater Eternal Essence[/item] 29.1% (9-12g)
[item]Large Brilliant Shard[/item] 2.7% (13-15g)
if it was for you to get one [item]Illusion Dust[/item] then you will lose the gold.
*current AH prices on my server, prices on your server might vary and that will make this work better or not to work at all. i will use the lowest price for the items you will sell and the highest for those you buy.
** to make gold with this, you will have to make more than 10 headbands. And if the leather you used was skinned not bought on the AH, since all profit will be yours.
EX.
Last time i used 13 stacks of rugged leather x 4.80g a stack i spent 62.4g that makes ~ 21 bands. I did them all at once. including the mail and the vendor matts it all cost me ~ 84g
the results of the disenchantments are:
2 x [item]Large Brilliant Shard[/item] x 13g = 26g
6 x [item]Greater Eternal Essence[/item] x 9g = 54g
28 x [item]Illusion Dust[/item] x 2g = 56g
--------------------------------------------------------------------
total DE 136g
cost -84g
--------------------------------------------------------------------
profit 52g
--------------------------------------------------------------------
if it wore for you to use your own leathers 136-21(vendor/mail cost) = 115g would be profit.
as a lvl 55-60 it will be very easy to farm rugged leather, and there will always be some on the ah.
I just use the AH for that extra gold that i can't pass, just using 10 min of my day. And it just makes you feel so good the next day you log and find your mail box filled with sales from AH.
Once you will have around 100g to rotate you will start to see a difference.
In this day, when all the high lvls have all the gear, all the instances done oh so many times, ppl go back low lvl pvping making twinks...all these twinks will need enchants on weapons/armor all of those enchants will use these matterials. Why? Because the highest enchants that use the outland materials will have a lvl requirement for the item it is cast on. and they will cost much more gold. And thats why ID/GEE/LBS will always sell for a lot of gold, high lvl players will always have it for that extra edge.
Once you will have around 100g to rotate you will start to see a difference.
I know lvl 60 or higher will have no problem in farming this leather of mobs in azeroth faster than on any other outland mob.
