How to obtain certain items

Guides on how to obtain certain items in the game.

Netherdrake/Netherwing Mount Guide

You MUST have your 300 riding skill as of 2/20/08 to start the NEUTRAL to FRIENDLY (Day 1). [70] In Service of the Illidari is not availible to you until you have the epic riding skill.

HATED to NEUTRAL (Day 1)

  1. Travel to Shadowmoon Valley and seek out the NPC called Mordenai. He can be found wandering here:

  2. Accept the quest [70] Kindness (shareable). Around Mordenai, in that area full of crystals, you will see mobs that are called Rocknails. Now you have two choices:
    • Kill the smaller ones. They will drop an item, of which 5 can be combined to one carcass.
    • Kill the bigger ones. These drop entire carcasses.

After obtaining a carcass, place it on the ground (try to place it at a spot where you see dragons flying above). The dragons will come and eat the carcass. Repeat this step 8 times.
    However be careful:

    • Do not have any similar buffs as Lightning Shield on you. Those will cause the dragons to attack you.
    • Do not place the meat at the same spot twice. Once the drakes have eaten they get a "full" debuff and they won’t come eat again.
  3. Go back to Mordenai and turn the quest in.

  4. Next accept the quest [70] Seek Out Neltharaku from Mordenai.

Neltharaku roams in the same area, above in the skies. Get on your flying mount, find him and turn the quest in. You must be about 10 feet below the dragon to be able to speak to him.

  5. Next accept the quest [70] Neltharaku's Tale from him. After accepting this quest, talk to the dragon again and go through the dialogue with him. (listen to his story) After you are done listening, turn in the quest.

  6. Then accept the quest [70] Infiltrating Dragonmaw Fortress. Now in the same area there is a fortress at 66, 60.

Kill any of the orcs you see here, you need 15 kills to complete the quest.

Return to Neltharaku and turn the quest in.

  7. Now accept [70] Netherwing Ledge from Neltharaku. In this quest he sends you to the Netherwing Ledge, which is just below the area you are at:

Here you'll need to look out for plants with big thorns that have red crystals attached to them. The plants look like this:

If you are a miner you'll be able to detect them with "Find Minerals".

Loot 12 crystals and return to Neltharaku.

  8. Accept the quest [70] The Force of Neltharaku. The dragon will give you an item called Enchanted Nethervine Crystal.

At the Dragonmaw Fortress you'll see hostile dragons (68,60), which are enslaved by orcs. Several things:

    • You must be out of combat to use the crystal, this means clear the area of any orcs (that aren't linked to draogns), approach one of the NPCs with a dragon (without aggroing it) and use the crystal on the dragon.
    • The dragon takes about 2 seconds to turn green (friendly) towards you. Wait until he turns green! He'll then attack his former master and you can join him and attack the orc as well.
  9. Free 5 dragons and return to Neltheraku.

  10. Turn in the previous quest and get the follow up: [70] Karynaku. The quest objective is to seek out Karynaku (the big blue dragon at the Dragonmaw Fortress). Once you've found him turn in the quest.

  11. For the next step you should optimally have a full group (healer, tank and 2-3 dps). Now follow these steps (courtesy to Arcticwolf from wowhead, thanks!):
Step 1) Clear both of the Enslaved Nether Drakes in the area.
Step 2) Clear both rooms left and right of the Shamans inside of them.
Step 3) Have your group's tank initiate the fight by accepting the quest, and then quickly run over to where Zuluhed Spawns
Step 4) While Zuluhed is talking, everyone else in the group move into the room that you cleared FIRST.
Step 5) As soon as Zuluhed stops talking, have the tank attack him and then move him into the room where you begin to DPS.
Step 6) DPS Him hard and move out of his Rain of Fire. When he spawns a Demon Portal, everyone in the entire group run as fast as you can into the other room, have your main tank run out first so that he takes all of the gunfire from the archers.
Step 7) Once he's in the next room, the demon will spawn from the portal in the previous room, but will NOT aggro your group because he isn't near you anymore. DPS hard on him at this point because soon he will create another portal, and this time you will have nowhere to run to.
Step 8 ) Once he's at low health, he'll turn into a big demon, but he's still easymode, just DPS his down, and you'll be fine.
Step 9) Loot the key, and unlock the ball and chain around Karynaku's leg.
Step 10) Talk to her, and then you get to ride on a bigass dragon all the way back to your sweet quest rewards!

    Additional info:
Only one person of the group needs to use the key, and the whole group will get a quest complete message. This means that the rest of the group will keep their key. If you keep the key this way, you can complete the quest for someone else at a later point.

  12. After having accepted [70] Ally of the Netherwing from Karynaku, he'll return you to Mordenai on his back. Complete the quest at Mordenai. You'll receive 42000 reputation with the Netherwing; this will make you neutral with said faction. Also you'll be able to choose one of the following rewards:

Now, the next steps consist in hard faction work. However to be able to get to the next part, you need to have 300 riding skill (fast mount).

NEUTRAL to FRIENDLY (Day 1)

  1. Go back to Mordenai and get the quest [70] In Service of the Illidari. Mordenai will send you to the Netherwing Ledge, where you can find the Netherwing Encampment. After talking to Mordenai you will have an orc illusion which will permit you to talk to the NPCs in that camp, however be careful, the hostile guards that patrol the camp see through your disguise and will attack you on sight.

  2. Mordenai gave you an item called Illidari Service Papers. Deliver these papers to Overlord Mor'ghor in the above mentioned camp. He can be found at (66,85). Upon completion you'll recieve 250 reputation with Netherwing.

  3. Accept [70] Enter the Taskmaster. Seek out Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath (who is just outside) and complete the quest. You are now ready to build reputation.

  4. Completing the above mentioned quest and another one outside at Yarzil the Merc ([70] Your Friend on the Inside) will enable you to do 3-4 daily quests (depending on how many gathering skills you have), to build faction. Each of these quests can only be completed once per day and you can only do 10 different daily quests per day.

The daily quests (which you can obtain from Yarzil the Merc and the Taskmaster in the middle of the camp) are:

    [70] A Slow Death
    [70] Netherdust Pollen
    (herbalist only)
[70] Nethermine Flayer Hide (skinners only)
    [70] Nethercite Ore (miners only)
    [70] Netherwing Crystals
    [70] The Not-So-Friendly Skies...
[70] The Great Netherwing Egg Hunt

Note: You can only complete one gathering quest along with the Netherwing Crystals quest daily.

  5. What to do:
(In the following I'll describe a rather optimal daily quest path. You'll follow this path every day (with a few alterations later on). Memorize it well and don't forget to always get the quest first before you start out quest paths)

** Look out for Netherwing Eggs that sometimes spawn on the Netherwing Ledge, scroll down to the mines section for more info**
** For miners/herbalists: While completing the following steps be sure to loot any Netherdust Bush and/or Nethercite Deposit you find on your way**

After accepting the above mentioned quests, fly to the main island of Shadowmoon Valley. Here, kill Felboars (click to see where they spawn) and Felfire Diemetradon (click to see where they spawn) until you collect 12 Fel Glands. If you are grouped and one of your group members has 4 Fel Glands while you have 8, you are still good to go to complete the quest for all of your group members. You just need 12 Fel Glands in total.

Good spots to farm these items are 47,60 and 39,45. The drop rate seems to be approximately 40%.

  6. Next fly to the islands that are in this area:

You'll see Dragonmaw Transporters pass by. There are 3 islands in this area where you can pull these dragons down. (one where they land and two where they pass by, all around 74,76) Kill them until you collect 10 Netherwing Relics.

Another great spot to pull these is the Dragonmaw Fortress. Position yourself here:

And pull the dragons like this:

  7. Go to Netherwing Ledge and search camps with orc peons. Have ONE of your group members use the Yarzill's Mutton near the peon camp (the other group members must be close). Wait until the peons eat the mutton and until you get the quest update. Complete this step 12 times in total. Be careful: If the orcs don't move (normally they mine the crystals) then they are bugged, don't place your mutton there. Also if the peons have blue icons over the head like Blind (or if they sleep), they are part of a different quest and won’t eat your mutton either.

  8. Exceptional step, won’t be repeated the next day: Seek out Arvoar the Rapacious (click on his name to see where he spawns). He looks like this:

Kill him (he can be difficult for some classes to solo; best is you attempt this grouped with another player). Loot the item Partially Digested Hand from him.
Right click the item and start the quest [70] A Job Unfinished. Group up with another person (you can try this solo, it's difficult though) and kill 10 Overmine Flayers and Barash the Den Mother. Both can be found close to where you killed Arvoar. The Den Mother spawns here:

    And looks like this:

  9. For herbalists: If at this point you don't have 40 Netherdust Pollen fly in cicles around Netherwing Ledge until you find 40 of them.

  10. Now go to the mines that are just below the Dragonmaw Base Camp and kill every mob that you see. If you are a miner loot every Nethercite Deposit you find. If you are a skinner kill every Nethermine Flayer on your way and skin it until you have:
    • 40 Netherwing Crystals
    • 40 Nethercite Ores (miners only)
    • 1 Netherwing Egg
    • 35 Nethermine Flayer Hides (skinners only)
  11. The Netherwing Egg drops of any mob/deposit/bush on Netherwing Ledge as rare drops. However they also spawn themselves all over the island, especially inside the mines. They look like this:

You are not obliged to find one, but it gives you 250 extra reputation, which is quite nice. (so try!)

  12. Go back to the Dragonmaw Base Camp and turn in all your quests. Let's say you do not have any of the gathering skills (worst case) you'll be able to get 1350 reputation per day.

  13. Exceptional step, won’t be repeated the next day: [70] A Job Unfinished, upon completion, will enable you to choose between the following rewards:

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32866
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32867
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32865
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32868

    You are done for today!

  14. The next day: Repeat all the daily quests, just like the previous day in the same order (while skipping the exceptional steps). You'll make about 1000 rep if you do them all including the egg quest.

  15. The next day: same as above.

On the third day, after obtaining the 1000 reputation, you'll manage to achieve Friendly rank.

You will be 600 points into Frindly by the end of the thiis day and fel orcs beside Dragonmaw Ascendants, Dragonmaw Skybreakers and Dragonmaw Transporters will appear friendly to you.

FRIENDLY to HONORED (Day 4)

--------------
Shopping List:

10x Knothide Leather
--------------

  • Once you hit friendly talk to Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath. Accept the quest [70] Rise, Overseer!. He'll send you to speak with Overlord Mor'ghor at Dragonmaw Base Camp.

He'll promote you to Overseer and he will also grant you a trinket that will enable you to summon a Netherwing Alley (only works in Shadowmoon Valley, outdoors) to fight for you, every 10 minutes.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32694

  • Now next to the already known daily quests, you should have the following new quests available:

[70] Overseeing and You: Making the Right Choices
    [70] The Netherwing Mines

    Accept them both.

  • Make sure you've bought or skinned the Knothide Leather already, if you haven't please do it on the way. Fly to Netherstorm.

We are searching for a huge raptor called Tyrantus. He can be found here:

    and he looks like this:

He has a short spawntime and is easily soloable, kill him and loot Hardened Hide of Tyrantus.

  • Fly back to Netherwing Ledge in Shadowmoon Valley.

Go back to the Dragonmaw Base Camp. Turn in [70] Overseeing and You: Making the Right Choices. (you can already take the follow up but I included this step in the next part because it will be repeated daily)

  • Go to the entrance of the Netherwing Mines and talk to the Mistress of the Mines. She spawns at 65,90. Talk to her and complete the quest [70] The Netherwing Mines. (You can already accept the follow up, however I put this step in the next part as it will be repeated daily)

  • Repeat the daily quests from the previous chapter, in exactly the same order. However you'll add the following steps:

    • From Chief Overseer Mudlump accept:
[70] The Booterang: A Cure For The Common Worthless Peon
      (daily quest)

    • While searching peons to poison with your mutton, also search for blinded, sleeping and red peons. Use the Booterang on them that you've received from your quest giver. Please note, you can do this from your flying mount and don't need to wait for the result. You need to discipline 20 peons like this.

    • Before entering the mines to hunt mobs there: Take quest called [70] Picking up the Pieces... from the Mistress of the Mines. This is a new daily quest.

      Also get the following quest:

[70 Daily] Dragons are the Least of Our Problems (daily quest, from Dragonmaw Foreman who stands between the two entrances of the mine, I think there are two of them patroling)

    • While hunting mobs in the mines, loot any Nethermine Cargo on the way. They look like this:

Do this until you've got 15 Nethermine Cargo.

    • Before, it didn't matter which mobs you killed (in the mines) in order to obtain your crystals, now it will matter and we'll define a clear killing path. First, have a look at this map:

You'll enter the mines where you can see the two little yellow dots next to "First Floor". They actually mark finished quests at the Mistress of Mines and Dragonmaw Foreman as I was a step ahead already at that point. Before we do anything, we are going to go to point (1), indicated on the map. While running use the rail bridges. Point (1) is what we'll refer to as Main Room. Now jump down from the rail tracks and you'll be on the ground floor. (there will be a lot of Oozes around you etc.). Go to point (2) on the map.

    • Exceptional step, won’t be repeated the next day: Get the quest [70] Crazed and Confused from Ronag the Slave Driver whom you'll find at point (2).

    • Now look at the map again and check out where the red arrow is. This is the path up to the second floor. First go left of point (3) and kill 15 Nethermine Flayers and 5 Nethermine Ravagers.

    • This is an exceptional step and won’t be repeated the next day: When you are done killing Flayers and Ravagers, go back to point (3) and go on the right side, towards point (4). Kill the Crazed Murkblood Foreman and 5 Crazed Murkblood Miners[/b] on your way. When you are done, jump down at point (4) and turn in [70] Crazed and Confused at Ronag the Slave Driver.

    • This is an exceptional step and won’t be repeated the next day: Go back to the main room and on to the first floor in direction entrance while killing every Ooze on your way. Their Sludge-covered Objects can contain a quest item: Murkblood Escape Plans. Right-click it and start the quest.

    • When you are done with crystals, cargos and killing Flayers/Ravagers (etc.), turn in [70] Dragons are the Least of Our Problems at Dragonmaw Foreman for 350 reputation. Also turn in [70] Picking up the Pieces... at the Mistress of the Mines for 350 reputation.

    • This is an exceptional step and won’t be repeated the next day: Also at the Mistress of Mines turn in [70] The Great Murkblood Revolt and take the follow up [70] Seeker of Truth Seek out a Murkblood Overseer (They can be found at 73,82 and are hiding in the little alcoves behind a mining machine, in the upper corners of the second floor) and interrogate one of them. Return to the Mistress of Mines with the Hand of the Overseer. Turn the quest in for 500 reputation points. (note that you can also do this step the next day while you kill Flayers/Ravagers for more efficiency, since it's only a one time quest)

    • While back at the Dragonmaw Base Camp, turn in [70] The Booterang: A Cure For The Common Worthless Peon for 350 reputation points.

  • Completing all those quests should have given you approximately 2250 points of reputation. Along with the old daily quests (1000 rep) that makes 3250 reputation points. This means that you should be at approximately 4425 reputaion into Friendly.

  • The next day: Do all the available daily quests as described above. This will bring you approximately 2050 reputation and will make you hit Honored with 475 reputation points into Honored.

HONORED to REVERED (Day 6)

------------------
Shopping List:

2 x Felsteel Bar
Adamantite Frame
Khorium Power Core

-------------------

  • Once you are honored, speak to Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath and accept the quest [70] Stand Tall, Captain! . He'll send you to speak with Overlord Mor'ghor. Go to him and complete the quest to receive 500 reputation and the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32695. The Trinket summons equally strong Dragon allies as the last one, but now it's usable outside of Shadowmoon Valley as well. (only outdoors though, which also excludes arenas)

  • Three new quests should be available:
    • [70 Daily] Disrupting the Twilight Portal (from Overlord Mor'ghor)
    • [70] The Soul Cannon of Reth'hedron (from Illidari Lord Balthas)
    • [70] Earning Your Wings... (from Ja'y Nosliw, who is all around Netherwing Ledge)

  • Accept them all and turn in the last one (earning your wings) right away and accept the follow up [70] Dragonmaw Race: The Ballad of Oldie McOld.

  • The Dragomaw Race quests (there are several) require you to ride your mount (which is a dragon on the Netherwing Ledge) and stay on its back, while following one of the quest givers (who throws stuff at you). These quests are not as easy as they sound and chances are you WILL get thrown off the dragon's back at one point or the other (a.k.a die). So make sure to bag your gear (or bank it whatever) from the 4th race quest on and do those quests naked. This will save you a whole lot of repair money.

While riding your mount and following the quest giver, he will throw stuff at you. You must follow the NPC while dodging the things thrown/shot at you.

In the first quest he throws pumpkins. They hurt quite a lot but if they hit you, you won’t fall off your mount. So for this one it might be better to keep your gear on, however given the fact that you'll have to learn dodging anyway, because of the following quests, you better try to get through without being hit.

One thing to be really careful of is the Dragonmaw Skybreakers. Those will attack you during the quest, so always keep your distance and be conscious of your environment.

I've found out that for dodging, the following tips are helpful:

    • Turn off your interface with alt+z (you'll see much better, can turn it back on with alt+z)
    • Scroll back with your mouse wheel until you have the largest possible field of vision.
    • While flying use straft to go sideways. You can go to keybindings (in your options menu) and bind straft to your directional keys instead of turn left/right. This will permit you to dodge left and right while still LOOKING at the mob.
    • Do not fall back too much, or you'll get a quest failed message.
    • If you are grouped with someone, don't do the quest together, you'll hinder each others sight and one point or the other.
    • Keep moving. The NPC shoots the ammo directly at you, however if you keep moving, it becomes close to impossible to target you in the air.
    • Mostly try to dodge things sideways while following the quest NPC, though you can also dodge moving up and down. Make use of the free navigation you have whilst in air.
    • If you have mount speed increasing enchants or items, use them (like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=11122). They will help greatly. However you should not purchase a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25653 for this quest. Even though it would certainly help, the reward at the end is an item equal to Riding Crop, so rather spend a bit more time on the quests, but get a "Crop" for free at the end Smiling
  • After completing the first quest, take the follow up [70] Dragonmaw Race: Trope the Filth-Belcher. This time the NPC will shoot poison missiles at you. They are rather easy to dodge, just do as described above while always fixing your eyes on the NPC and keeping your distance.

  • After completing this quest, take the follow up [70] Dragonmaw Race: Corlok the Vet. This one will shoot rocks at you, still rather easy, do as described above.

  • After completing this quest, take the follow up [70] Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Ichman. This is where things get more complicated. The NPC will shoot rotating fire missiles at you that go in several directions at once. This is also the first quest where being hit throws you directly off the mount.
Be sure to remove your equipment while you try to follow him and again, keep your distance. If you follow the advice given above, you should get the hang of it quite fast.

  • After completing this quest, take the follow up [70] Dragonmaw Race: Wing Commander Mulverick.

(editor's note: nice to see Tom Cruise as Orc, certain might know what I mean by that Sticking out tongue)

This one is quite difficult. It might take you up to an hour or so to complete this. The laser like missiles that he shoots really go in all directions and are extremely hard to dodge because depending on lag, latency or gfx glitches you will see the lasers go in a certain direction and you'll think you are safe, but actually they'll still hit you a second later and throw you off your mount. Check this video of a successful attempt, again distance seems to be the key.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX0yysWOtMc

  • After completing this quest, accept the last quest: [70] Dragonmaw Race: Captain Skyshatter.

This is slightly easer (in my opinion) than the previous quest, a few tips for making it:

This NPC is different from the other ones because you need to stay MUCH closer to him while following, or he'll despawn. He will shower you with meteors, but if you managed to dodge Mulverick's attacks, dodging these things is really easy, you just need to stay withing 15 yards and keep strafting left or right while always looking at the mob and the meteor showers. The difficulty lies in following him because he flies really fast. This is the only quest where not having a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25653 will give you a clear disadvantage, but it is certainly possible to manage without so keep trying.
Also don't fly directly next to Captain Skyshatter because he'll sometimes hit himself with a meteor and the flames caused this way will burn you too. (Be sure to dodge the meteors AND the flames they cause in the air)

Anyway, again a video speaks more than a hundred words, check it out:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq87HikhdNo

After turning in the quest you'll get 1000 reputation and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32863. The whip of course doesn't stack with any other mountspeed increasing items. (basically the same thing as Riding Crop)

  • Go to Terrokar Forest and seek out Sar'This. He is at 42,44.

The NPC will spawn 5 elementals of different elements and you need to kill them while following Sar'This around. They are fairly easy and can be soloed. The fifth one (Arcane) has the Flawless Arcane Essence we seek.

  • Fly back to Netherwing Ledge (though make sure you bought or made all the items on the shopping list!). Turn in [70] The Soul Cannon of Reth'hedron at Illidari Lord Balthas (500 rep) and take the follow up [70] Subdue the Subduer.

  • Take the cannon and fly to the Twilight Ridge in western Nagrand. Find Reth'hedron at 9,42. He's huge actually, you can't miss him.

Now proceed in the following way:

(thanks to Lastemperor of wowhead for the info):

Really easy one. Drain his health down while you are in the air with your flying mount. Avoid meteors/fireballs.
The tactic I used is basicly staying in range, above him, flying around him clockwise while draining his soul. This way you will only take the shadow bolt damage (800ish). If you get cripple on you start going anti clockwise, so you dont run into the fireballs. The fireballs really hurt also dismounts you, and you die. Will take you a while till you suck his soul out, once hes on 1% hes starting to walk to the portal and leaves the place.
If you seem to take too much damage during an attempt you can flee away by just flying far from him.
Fun quest, good luck on it!

Now on to the daily quests:

  • Before you start them and while still in Nagrand on the Twilight Ridge, kill 20 (Deathshadow) Acolytes, Spellbinders, Archons. Be careful when you pull here though, there are elite ogres roaming. (very tough to solo)

  • Do your daily quests, as described above. From now on there is (without gathering skills) 7 quests (+ the egg quest). Always start out the quests by going to Nagrand first and killing the Deathshadow Agents.

  • Exceptional, won’t be repeated the other days: After you are done with the daily quests and while turning them in, also turn in [70] Subdue the Subduer. You'll be able to choose one of the following rewards:

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32871
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32869
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32872
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32870

  • On the sixth day you should have earned a total of (at least) 7250 reputation. This means you'll be approximately 7825 points into Honored.

  • The next day: Do all the daily quests available to you. Which should earn you 2550 points.

  • On the 8th day, after doing your daily quests and earning another 2550 points, you should ding Revered with 925 points already into Revered.

  • As soon as you are revered, talk to Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath and accept the quest [70] Hail, Commander!. Complete the quest at Overlord Mor'ghor, you'll recieve a new badge: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32864 as well as 500 reputation.

  • Now I'll describe two different quest paths, depending on if you are Scryers or Aldor.
    • Scryers Accept [70] Kill Them All! from Overlord Mor'ghor. He'll send you to Arcanist Thelis at the Sanctum of the Stars in Shadowmoon Valley.

Turn the quest in (+250 rep) and accept the follow up [70] Commander Hobb. You can turn in this quest already at Commander Hobb who is just outside the tent, but before you accept the follow up, you'll need someone to group up with. Minimum for this quest is two players I'd say but without a healer it can sometimes get tough if you are only two, so try to be at least 3 players and possibly take a healer with you. Also the other players should be Scryers in faction as well. If they are Aldor the quest NPCs will attack them. Last but not least, take RANGED DPS with you as the dragons cannot be meleed.

After you've set up your group, get [70 Daily] The Deadliest Trap Ever Laid (Scryer). The NPC will run just outside the gates of the Altar of Stars and will join up with a few NPC archers.

Next, dragons will attack the NPCs and you'll need to help the NPCs kill them. At first stay back though and let the NPCs get the initial aggro as you'll easily die taking damage from all dragons at once.

Help the NPCs take down the dragons while trying to stay alive. Two things:

      - You won’t fail the quest if you die, you'll appear at the graveyard which is just next to the battlefield and you can raise up right away. You must just not die when the quest update is given.

      - You don't need to kill all dragons. You just need to help killing them while keeping the main quest NPC (Commander Hobb) alive. After a certain time, even if there are still dragons up, you'll get a quest complete message.

Once you are done, return to the Netherwing Ledge and turn in the quest at Overlord Mor'ghor for 500 reputation.

    • Aldor Accept [70] Kill Them All! from Overlord Mor'ghor. He'll send you to Anchorite Ceyla at the Altar of Sha'tar in Shadowmoon Valley.

Turn the quest in (+250 rep) and accept the follow up [70] Commander Arcus. You can turn in this quest already at Commander Arcus who is just outside, but before you accept the follow up, you'll need someone to group up with. Minimum for this quest is two players I'd say but without a healer it can sometimes get tough if you are only two, so try to be at least 3 players and possibly take a healer with you. Also the other players should be Aldor in faction as well. If they are Scryers the quest NPCs will attack them. Last but not least, take RANGED DPS with you as the dragons cannot be meleed.

After you've set up your group, get [70 Daily] The Deadliest Trap Ever Laid (Aldor). The NPC will run just outside the gates of the Altar of Sha'tar and will join up with a few NPC archers.

You just need to help killing them while keeping the main quest NPC (Commander Arcus) alive. After a certain time, even if there are still dragons up, you'll get a quest complete message.

Once you are done, return to the Netherwing Ledge and turn in the quest at Overlord Mor'ghor for 500 reputation.

  • _____________________

As you might have already guessed, this is a new daily quest and you should try to do this every day as this quest gives really nice reputation. However I didn't include it in a specific order into the daily quest path as you might get troubles finding people to do this quest with, so just do it whenever it suits you and whenever you find the players to do it with.

After completing this quest you should be 1425 points into Revered.

  • From now on, if you complete all the daily quests and if you either turn in one egg per day or turn in one of the gathering quest, you should be able to gain 3050 reputation points per day. This means that it will take you seven more days to achieve exalted with the Netherwing

EXALTED (Day 15)

  • Now comes the fun part Smiling (I'm not at this stage of the quest yet, but I'll add screenshots as soon as I do it myself)

  • Speak with Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath and accept the quest [70] Bow to the Highlord. Turn it in at Overlord Mor'ghor and accept the quest [70] Lord Illidan Stormrage.

Mor'Gor will now walk out and summon Illidan for you (yay!) and Illidan will immediately see behind your disguise. He'll also order Mor'Gor to kill you. In that moment a Netherwing Dragon will come and pick you up to save you. It will also fly you to Shattrath Smiling

  • At Shattrath, speak with Barthamus in the Lower City and turn in [70] Lord Illidan Stormrage (+1k rep).

  • Now you'll be able to talk with ONE of the dragons next to the quest NPC. Upon completion you'll receive that dragon as your mount, so choose wisely!

Congratulations, you are now poud owner of a Netherwing mount! Also you made about 3k gold in the process Eye

Thanks for reading the guide, if you liked it please make sure to link it to your friends/guild/etc.

How to get: Whipper Root Tuber + Night Dragons Breath

*Guide* Getting Whipper Root Tuber + Night Dragons Breath(+ Windblossom Berries) - by Patrick
(Originally made for the, at the time, newly started guild Nefastus Legio, to help us doing raids.)

Roots, dragons and berries?
You might have heard of Whipper Root Tubers, Night Dragons Breath and Windblossom Berries. These are BoP items, harvested off plants in Felwood. The Tubers/Night Dragons are potion-like items, but the Windblossom Berries are more like food(bread, fruit, pie, etc). The great thing about Whipper Root Tubers and Night Dragons Breath, is that they are on separate timers(1min), and that's both separate from each other, and from potions. This means you can use a Whipper Root Tuber, a Night Dragons Breath, and any potion right after each other. Check their exact effects here:

http://www.thottbot.com/?i=2959 - Whipper Root Tubers
http://www.thottbot.com/?i=6414 - Night Dragons Breath
http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4841 - Windblossom Berries

As I told before, you have to get them in Felwood. They spawn at specific locations(I'll come back to this), and with a 'fixed' spawn rate of 25 minutes. The spawn locations can be a bit hard to find when you try to get these, for your first time. That's why the lovely nor3 have made an addon called FelwoodGather. This addon will provide notes on your worldmap, as well as a nifty mini-map(/fwg map toggle). Rest of the information on this addon is in the readme file Smiling

How?
Up until now, I've only described how you actually pick it. The process might be a little different sometimes. Once in a while, the plants have to be cleansed with a special salve. The Cenarion Plant Salve. Before you can pick this up, you have to do a quest though. It's very easy, and is called Cleansing Felwood. This quest should cause no problem, and is obtained at Maybess Riverbreeze - loc(46,83).

Done questing, or what?
Not really. After you've done Cleansing Felwood, you will have the possibility to choose between 2* repeatable quests. Each of these quests give you 2xCenarion Plant Salve. Here are the ones you can have(depends on your profession):

Salve via Hunting (6xCorrupted Soul Shards)
Requires you to turn in Corrupted Soul Shards - Recieved from killing mobs in Felwool, while you have a Cenarion Beacon(Maybess will give you one, if you ask her) in your inventory.

Salve via Skinning (5xPatch of Tainted Skin)
This is only doable if you have Skinning as a profession. You will have to skin beasts in Felwood, to get Patch of Tainted Skin. Beasts that will drop these, are:

    Angerclaw Bear Angerclaw Grizzly
    Angerclaw Mauler
    Felpaw Ravager
    Felpaw Scavenger
    Felpaw Wolf
    Jaedenar Hound
    Jaedenar Hunter
Salve via Mining (4xTainted Vitriol)
This is only doable if you have Mining as a profession. You will have to mine veins in Felwood to get Tainted Vitriol. Veins from which you get these are:
    Small Thorium Vein
    Mithril Deposit
Salve via Gathering (4xFel Creep)
This is only doable if you have Herbalism as a profession. You will have to pick herbs in order to get Fel Creep. Herbs from which you get these are:
    Sungrass Dreamfoil
    Arthas' Tears
    Plaguebloom
    Gromsblood
    Golden Sansam
    Mountain Silversage
Salve via Disenchanting (1xLesser Nether Essence)
This is only doable if you have Enchanting as a profession. This is, in my opinion the easiest one. All you have to do, is to deliver a Lesser Nether Essence. (I'm not going to list items that disenchant into these Eye)

When you have gathered some salve, you'll be able to cleanse the corrupted plants. You simply do this by right-clicking, and pressing cleanse.

*TIP*
If you are fast enough, you will be able to pick Whipper Root Tubers, Night Dragons Breath or Windblossom Berries, two times at each spawn. All you have to do, is to right-click on the plant, pick, and then right-click the plant immediately again. This will cause you're farming time to be reduced drasticaly(maybe not ½, because you might fail sometimes, but still pretty close to 50%, if you do it right)

If you have something to add, please tell me in a PM, or simply reply in this thread. Typing errors might be there, since Danish is my main language, and not English.
* - If you have more than one of these professions, you will be able to do the quests attached to both of your professions.

(edit: After correcting spelling errors in Jame's post, I thought I would do the same in mine. So that's what I've done Smiling... And thx a lot for the sticky Laughing out loud)

How to obtain Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros

How to obatain Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros

As I posted a small post regarding Thunderfury, I figured a similar one about the "lesser" legendary might be in it's place.

Lesser at least when it comes to how difficult it is to obtain. It is one of the best 2handers in the game though (although not the best, this baby sees to that). There is a fragile limit to who should/can use it though, most would say this goes to a DPS warrior, although paladins (as seen below) and even enchancement shamans have been seen with it. While Thunderfury require you to farm BWL for elementium ore, everything you need for Sulfuras can be found in Molten Core or in the outside world. Here's what you do

To make Sulfuras, you first need to make Sulfuron Hammer. A blacksmith with 300 in skill is needed for that and the plans for it are sold by Lokhtos Darkbargainer at the BRD tavern (the same guy you do turn ins to for increased Thorium Brotherhood rep after you reach honored). You need to give him a Sulfuron Ingot (dropped only by Golemagg in MC) to receive the plans, however there is no rep required.

Once you got the plans it's time to start working on those materials for the hammer (actually, you should already be way on your way as you've spent some time getting to Golemagg in MC).

What you need and where to find/how to make it

8x Sulfuron Ingots (From Golemagg, as mentioned. This is in addition to the one you used to buy the plans)

20x Dark Iron bars (Which again means 160 dark iron ores. Dark iron is mined a few places in Burning Stepps and Searing Gorge, but are most easily found inside Blackrock Dephts and Molten Core itself. To melt ores into bars you need to learn it from one of the dwarves from the Chamber of Seven, and melt it at the Black Forge, next to the MC portal in BRD).

50 Arcanite Bars (Ah those damn arcanite bars again. 1 arcane crystal and 1 thorium bar is required per Arcanite bar and it takes an alchemist 2 days to make one. Better get your guilds alchemists ready to contribute)

25x Essence of Fire (these drops from fire elemtanls in Burning Stepps, Searing Gorge and the Blackrock instances. They can also be created by alchemists (275+ and a Philosopher's Stone) by transmuting air to fire, but the process has a 24h cooldown).

10x Blood of the Mountain (This are rare drops from Thorium veins)

10x Lava Core (Drops off of most mobs in MC)

10x Fiery Core (Same as Lava Cores, drops from MC mobs)

Now your blacksmith got all he needs to make Sulfuron Hammer. In itself it is an excellent DPS weapon (63 DPS), but the real value is it's ability to turn into Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. For this you need ONE thing Eye of Sulfuras. Unfortunately it only drops from Ragnaros at about 2% droprate, which means you could easily farm Raggy for a year before your guild gets it.

Note that the Sulfuron Hammer is BoE, so the one who makes it need not be the one chosen to receive Sulfuras. The Eye of Sulfuron however is BoP, so make sure the chosen one loots it. Sulfuras is BoP as well, noone can loot the eye, make Sulfuras and give it away. Quite obvious I guess.

Once you got Sulfuron and the Eye, you are 45 seconds away from being the proud owner of this beauty

Cheers, hope this helps.

How to obtain Thunderfury

Thunderfury is one of currently 3 legendary weapons in the game, and is arguebly the best tanking weapon at the moment (due to the high chance of it's proc). It is no small task aquiring it, and here is how

1. Thunderfury is the reward after a formidable questline. To start this questline you need to loot either the left or right bindings of the windseeker, which drop from Garr and Geddon in Molten Core.

2. Once you loot either binding (the drop rate is very low) take i to Highlord Demetrian in Silithus who sends you onwards.

3. You will now have to gather some items in order to summon Thunderaan. This is no easy task and requires

10 elementium bars
Left and right bindings of the windseeker (ie you need to wait for the other half to drop from either Garr or Baron Geddon)
Essence of the firelord (this one has a 100% droprate from Ragnaros once the quest has started, although only one can be looted on each kill)

Now the challenge here is making those 10 elementium bars. For each bar you need
1 elementium ore (drops from goblins in Blackwing Lair)
10 arcanite bars (requiring 1 arcane crystal and 1 thorium bars each, and each alchemist has a 2 day cooldown on each arcanite bar they create)
3 elemtanl flux (bought from blacksmith vendors)
1 firey core (drops from trash in MC)

Now that is for ONE bar. For the total of ten bars you then need 100 arcane crystals, 100 thorium bars, 10 elementium ores, 30 elemental flux and 10 firey cores, as well as alchemists spending 200 days of cooldown on making you your arcanite bars. It is in other words VERY expensive and time consuming.

In order to smelt all this into the elementium bars you need, your guild must clear BWL up to Ebonroc. After killing the last trash before Ebonroc you are left with Krixix. Have a priest mind control him, and he will teach whoever needs to melt elementium bars. He is hostile, so kill him when the MC wears off.

4. When you got your elementium bars, your essence and both of the bindings, take them to the highlord in Silithus and Thunderaan will be summoned. Bring a raid as you need to defeat him. Loot the Dormant Wind Kissed Blade from him and bring it to the questgiver.

Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.

Pets and Mounts in Northrend

Pet and Mount collecting went mainstream with the implementation of the Achievement system - now, instead of being bag-space-starved weirdos who do strange reputation grinds, pet and mount collectors get achievement points, rewards, and have so much more bag space that collecting pets and mounts has gotten more ... acceptable.

It can still be a bit overwhelming and confusing though, especially with all the new pets and mounts available in Northrend, so this guide is here to help you decide which of the new and exciting offerings you want, and how to get them.

Table of Contents:

  1. Dalaran - Pets and Mounts
  2. Pets:
  3. Kalu'ak (Pengu)
  4. Oracles
  5. Mounts:
  6. Crafted
  7. Reputation
  8. Achievements
  9. Drops

Dalaran:

PET - The Ghostly Skull, available in the sewers for 40G. (The vendor is Darahir, in the northernmost room of the Underbelly)

If you fish, also start casting in the sewers for a Giant Sewer Rat pet. He's random and very rare, and be prepared to use a lure even at max (450) fishing to avoid get-aways.

MOUNTS - Just outside Krasus' Landing (the FP) is Mei Francis. She sells the Armored Brown Bear for 750G, either an Armored Blue Windrider (Horde) or an Armored Snowy Gryphon (Alliance), and the famous Traveler's Tundra Mammoth (which carries two passengers and vendors as well!). She also sells a Wooly Mammoth for 200 Emblems of Heroism. (Hmmm, gear or mount...?)

Bonus - next to Mei is the entrance to Breanni's shop. Named after the patron saint of pet collectors, Breanni (famous for Warcraftpets.com) sells pet toys - fetch balls, grooming kits, treats and a pet leash.

PETS

The Kalu'ak

These loveable walrus folk want you to have a penguin, Pengu of your very own (for 12G). The catch is, they want you to do a lot of chores for them first!
They have outposts in Borean Tundra (at Kaskala, on the south coast), Moa'ki Harbor in Dragonblight (on the coast south of Wyrmrest Temple), and Kamagua, on a small island (The Isle of Spears) off the southwest coast of Howling Fjord.

By doing the regular (non-daily) quests in all three towns, you should reach Honored. Once all non-dailies are completed, the only way to get Revered and then Exalted is through dailies. There are three, one in each base, and all are very quick.
The Way To His Heart in Howling Fjord simply requires you to go south, catch some Tasty Fish with the provided net, then lure a walrus bull across a channel to meet his true love. 500 rep, 5 minutes.
Planning For The Future is similarly easy. Just north of Moa'ki Harbor (in Dragonblight) where the quest begins, there are huts with pups to collect. Either kill or CC the nearby Den Mothers, click on and loot each pup, and continue. Collect 12 and return for another quick 500 rep.
Preparing For The Worst at Kaskala in Borean Tundra only needs 8 boxes of supplies, scattered around the village. They spawn pretty quickly, so unless a lot of people are doing the same quest you should also finish this quickly.

If you begin these dailies at 0/12000 Honored, it will take approximately 22 days to reach exalted and get your penguin. (Not counting +rep for humans).

The Oracles

Once you declare your allegiance to the Oracles, you can begin earning rep with them. Once you reach Revered, you can buy a Mysterious Egg for 3G. After seven days, the egg will hatch into something. There is a possibility that you will get a Cobra Hatchling, a Proto-Drake Whelp, a Tickbird Hatchling (brown), or a White Tickbird Hatchling. These pets are NOT BoP, so if you prefer to ally with the Frenzyheart, haunt the AH and prepare to spend! (Note - these do NOT currently show up under pets: you must search 'Cobra,' 'Tickbird,' 'Whelp,' or some permutation thereof to find them!)
You will be at Honored with them after finishing the allegiance chain, so it will only take seven days of doing their dailies (1700/day for the three possible dailies) to get to Revered.

You might also get a MOUNT from this egg, the Green Proto-Drake.

Mounts:

Crafted:

Tailoring - Flying Carpet and Magnificent Flying Carpet. Requires Tailoring as a profession.

Engineering - Mechano-hog: Horde, Mekgineer's Chopper: Alliance. NOT Engineer only. The Schematic requires 450 Eng. and Exalted with Horde Expedition or Alliance Vanguard, and the vendor-bought materials cost 12,500G (plus 12 titansteel bars), so this will be very expensive!

Reputation:

Oracles
:

See above for the Green Proto-Drake

Wyrmrest Accord
:

Red Drake - Wyrmrest Accord, 2000G, requires Exalted reputation (1600G w/ rep discount).
One of the easier rep mounts, because you can wear their tabard while doing Heroics to grind rep. You can also do their dailies:
Dragonblight: Defending Wyrmrest Temple - ride a dragon to kill 5 drakes, 3 dragons, and destabilize the Dragonshrine. 250 rep.
Coldarra: Drake Hunt - go and catch a drake hatchling, and return it to the Transitus Shield. 250 rep.
Coldarra: Aces High - ride a drake and use it to kill 5 elites (requires level 80). 250 rep.

After doing the other quests which offer Wyrmrest Accord rep (Dragonblight and Coldarra), you should be honored, but at only 750 reputation/day available from dailies, the tabard will be a faster path to a red drake.

Sons of Hodir:

Reins of the Ice Mammoth available at Revered, 1,000G (850 w/ rep discount)
Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth available at Exalted, 10,000G (8,000 w/ rep discount) - carries two passengers (but does NOT have vendors)

The Sons of Hodir do not have a tabard, so reputation must be ground via dailies. To begin gaining reputation, start at K3, the goblin town in Stormpeaks, with They Took Our Men! and continue until you reach Dun Niffelem and can start doing their dailies. There are 6 dailies available, meaning that 1950 rep/day can be had, along with turn-in quests. Revered can theoretically be reached in 9-10 days, Exalted in 22-23 days. (See here for details on quests)

Brunnhildar Village

While in the process of opening up Sons of Hodir, you will do a number of quests (the 'blue lady' quests) involving this village. Once completed, you will be able to do various dailies (1-2/day), which reward a Hyldnir Spoils bag which can contain a White Polar Bear mount.

While your faction controls Lake Wintergrasp, you can collect Stone Keepers Shards by running dungeons (normal and heroic). For 300 of them, you can buy a Black War Mammoth.

The Care and Training of Venomhide Ravasaurs

The Venomhide Ravasaur was introduced in patch 3.2 as the Horde counterpart to the Winterspring Frostsaber. However, it's significantly easier to get this sexy black raptor than it is to get the cat. This guide will walk you through the steps of acquiring, caring for, and eventually riding, your very own Venomhide Ravasaur.

What is Required

In the process of obtaining and training your Venomhide Ravasaur, you will need to:

  1. Complete [53] Toxic Tolerance, in which you allow yourself to be poisoned 20 times by attacking venomhide ravasaurs.
  2. Complete [53] Venomhide Eggs, in which you acquire some venomhide raptor eggs.
  3. Accept [53] They Grow Up So Fast. You will be given a baby ravasaur to care for.
  4. Take care of the ravasaur for twenty days. It will offer you a daily quest, one each day. When you complete the quest, the baby will loose a tooth. Twenty teeth lost means the baby has grown up.
  5. Gather 20 Rugged Leather, 20 Runecloth, and 80 gold.
  6. Turn in [53] They Grow Up So Fast, and receive the mount!

This is just a quick overview. Any detailed questions you might have will be answered below.

Optional: While in the Un'Goro area, keep your eye out for the Ravasaur Matriarch. She spawns and roams around the ravasaur area in the south-east part of the zone. She is a rare spawn who drops the Ravasaur Hatchling 100% of the time. You can keep the pet, or sell it to make a profit (it is currently going for around 3000 gold on my server but the price will likely drop since it's actually a fairly easy pet to farm).

Starting Quests

This section will take you through the opening quests. Once you complete these quests, you will have access to the daily quests which actually advance your raptor in growth.

What to bring: To get poisoned by the ravasaurs (which is required to advance through this section), you must attack them. This is best done unarmed and without any gear that grants attack power. As a caster druid, I continued to wear my caster gear so that my hit points were never remotely dented by the ravasaurs, but doing this quest naked is probably a completely viable option. Alternatively, a fast attack speed weapon with low damage would also be a good choice. Plan ahead and bring whatever gear you want.

  1. Starting in Dalaran, take the portal in Rhonin's room (the western building) to the Caverns of Time. Ride south-east across the zone to the path leading down to Un'Goro. Head a little north to the area marked on the map. Here you'll find Mor'vek, the Ravasaur Trainer.

  2. Pick up the quest [53] Toxic Tolerance from Mor'vek. Note that this is a low level quest and won't show until you talk to him, unless you are tracking low level quests.

  3. Put on whatever gear you brought to get poisoned in (or take off your normal gear) - just make sure you have as little attack power as possible. Head to the area marked on the map and find Venomhide Ravasaurs (they are the black ones). Keep attacking them until you are poisoned 20 times.

  4. Put back on your normal gear and head back to Mor'vek. Turn in [53] Toxic Tolerance and pick up [53] Venomhide Eggs.

  5. Head to the area marked on the map and look for Venomhide Ravasaur Eggs. Pick up 4 of them.

  6. Return to Mor'vek and turn in [53] Venomhide Eggs. Pick up [53] They Grow Up So Fast.

You are now ready to begin the 20 day process of training your baby raptor to be a fierce mount!

Daily Quests

Each day, you'll want to head down to southern Kalimdor and complete one of these dailies. I suggest making use of the portal in Dalaran to go directly to the Caverns of Time. Once you get into Tanaris, call your hatchling right away, since some of the quests are located there.

As you perform the daily quests, keep in mind that you will need 20 Rugged Leather and 20 Runecloth at the end of the 20 days. The leather can be skinned from dinosaurs in Un'Goro and the cloth can be found on humanoid mobs in Silithus.

Each day, your hatchling will offer one of the following quests:

Hungry, Hungry Hatchling - Un'Goro

Kill dinosaurs anywhere in Un'Goro. The area marked on the map has a large concentration of them, but they can be found over most of Un'Goro. When you get some of their Fresh Dinosaur Meat, put it on your action bar. Summon your hatchling and click the meat to feed him as you go (this will help you keep track of how many more you need). Remember to skin the dinosaurs for Rugged Leather if you are a skinner.

Poached, Scrambled, Or Raw? - Tanaris

Search the area marked on the map for Silithid Eggs - they will be lying around on the ground. Here I suggest to search the eggs on the eastern side of that area, plenty of eggs on the edge just where the desert "begins" after the terrain goes uphill (thanks Benhir for the tip!). When you get one, put it on your action bar so you can feed your hatchling as you go (he'll need to be summoned).

Gorishi Grub - Un'Goro

Kill Silithid in southern Un'Goro, marked on the map. When you get some of their Silithid Meat, put it on your action bar. Summon your hatchling and click the meat to feed him as you go (this will help you keep track of how many more you need).

Searing Roc Feathers - Tanaris

Head to one of the areas marked on the map and kill rocs there for their Searing Roc Plumage. When you have gathered five of them, summon your hatchling and turn them in.

Remember that on the 20th day, you should bring the items for the final turn-in with you for your daily quest. As soon as the raptor looses it's last tooth, you can head to Un'Goro!

Final Turn-In

On the last day of your daily quest, make sure you have:

  • 19 Venomhide Baby Teeth (you'll get the last one from your daily)
  • 20 Rugged Leather (skin from dinosaurs or purchase on the AH)
  • 20 Runecloth (get from humanoids in Silithus or purchase on the AH)
  • 80 Gold
  • Your baby raptor!

Note that if you forget anything for your last turn-in, there is a bank and an auction house conveniently located in Gadgetzan.

When you've completed your last daily quest, head back to Mor'vek in Un'Goro (see map at the top of the guide). Talk to him to receive your awesome new mount, and congratulations!

How to get: Winterspring Epics

Winterspring Epics

Now these items are very tricky to get. So i'll try to explain it in an easy way. To be able to get the quests for these items you must first go to UBRS and kill "The Beast" that's a Boss in UBRS. It's recommended that you are level 60 when doing this quest.

Added: After Zul'Grubu has been introduced it is now also posible to get the sword called "Zulian Slicer" to boost skinning to 315. However the +5 skinning enchantment is still needed.

Guide : How to obtain the Scepter of the shifting sands

Ever searched for the complete quest line to obtain the scepter and be disappointed to only find some snippets and general bad info ? Maybe this guide will give you more insight . If you find errors please note them down below )

Note you can also use this guide if you want to obtain the Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops recipe. In that case complete the steps in this post (untill you get Anachronos to tell you about the other flights) Then go straight to the blue scepter shard post. In theory all you need is a guild being able to kill broodlord and alot of patience , but it is groupable , maybe even soloable without very big expenses.

I've tried to combine all the info and personal experience into this guide. Also note that this is my first guide )

How to obtain the scepter of the shifting sands ?

It begins with this

What Tomorrow Brings (http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=8286)
Travel to the Caverns of Time to discover the Brood of Nozdormu.

Then Speak with Baristolth of the Shifting Sands in silithius (coords here) and accept Only One May Rise (Raid). (Kill bloodlord lasher in BWL and loot his head) http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=8288

After turning in the head you get the quest The Path of the Righteous (Elite) (You kill bugs for carapace's , each 200 turned in you get a signet that allows you to promote another player to grind carapace's , they then can give you the carapaces so you can turn them in)

Farm rep to Neutral and talk to Baristolth of the Shifting Sands to receive Anachronos
http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=8303 then go seek out Anachronos
After this you receive some quick instructions in an unlisted quest
titled 'The Charge of the Dragonflights', you may then begin
the following parts

Green scepter shard

Go to the Sunken Temple , at erakinus , you should see the spirit of Malfurion stormrage speak with him.
He gives you Eranikus, Tyrant of the Dream (Go speak to some whisp in Darnassus , around 37,47)

The whisp then gives you Tyrande and Remulos (Travel to the Moonglade and speak to Keeper Remulos.)

Keeper Remulos finally gives you The Nightmare's Corruption (You have to get 4 fragments of the nightmare's corruption)

To get these fragments you have to go to the Emerald portal's (Yes the portals where the dragons spawn)

First fragment is in Ashenvale , second in Feralas and the third in the Hinterlands.
Kill the dragonkin that wanders around the portals , eventually the fragments will drop.

For the fourth fragment , travel to duskwood , there aren't any trashmobs around the portal but you will see an elite mob boss (Twilight Corruptor).
He has the fourth fragment (note that this boss is hard , preferly kill him with a raid)

Hand in all the fragments to keeper Remulos He starts the quest The Nightmare Manifests(Defend moonglade from the shade of Eranikus.

After completing the event he gives you the quest The Champion Returns (Bring the green scepter shard to Anachronos)

The green shard quest is finished !

The blue scepter shard

Speak to Azuregos in Azshara. He says he gave the shard to a shark. You need some stuff to spawn the shark. Therefore he gives you the quest Azuregos's Magical Ledger (http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=8575)
Speak to Narain Soothfancy (He's just a little ways north of Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris.)
Narain gives you 3 new quests , I'll go over them step by step.

1 Never Ask Me About My Business(This questline lets you obtain the +25 stamina food recipe eg. Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops recipe.)

This is the first chain of quests he gives you. Narain wants you to speak with Dirge Quickcleave in Gadgetzan. (in the inn)

Dirge then gives you a new quest The Isle of Dread! (Recover Lakmaeran's Carcass and 20 Chimaerok Tenderloins)

After turning in the quest you get the follow up Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops from dirge. (bring him 20 Goblin Rocket Fuel and 20 Deeprock Salt.)

When finishing the quest he gives you the Epic recipe Recipe Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops (https//www.thottbot.com/?i=52486) and the end quest Return to Narain (as the quest says , return to Narain with the 500lbs chicken)

2 Stewvul, Ex-B.F.F

Narain sends you to silverpine (A crate near the graymane wall 46,87)
When you click the crate you get the follow up Scrying Goggles? No Problem! (Go to the molten core , retrieve the Narain's Scrying Goggles , these drop of a random mob inside MC and give them back to Narain in Tanaris.

3 Draconic for Dummies

Narain wants you to find his book, buried on an island in the South Seas. He tells you there is a gyrocopter waiting to get you to that island (the island is beyond fatigue waters, way off the map.) When you arrive to the gyrocopter crash site, you find a naga (Meridith the Mermaiden see the map below for her location.) who has a message for Narain

She gives you the quest Love song for Narian. Go back to Narian give him the love letter.

He sorta declines her. Go back to Meredith and she gives you a swim speed buff that allows you to reach the island without drowning or fatigue.
When on the island you find Freshly Dug Dirt click on it and you get the next quest rAnS0m. Go back to Narain

He gives you a new quest Decoy! You have to go to Winterspring and deliver the fake gold to Dr. Weavil disguised as Narian himself. (The drop of point is explained in the Crudemap)

After killing Number Two (Dr. Weavil flies of) go back to Narian for the next quest The Only Prescription. When clicking him again he says he sees Dr. Weavil in a his vision and tells you he is on Alcaz island (NE of Dustwallow , see map below)

Kill Dr. Weavil and loot One chapter of the book and his Diary. The diary tells that he tore the book in pieces and spread the pages everywhere.

  • Chapter I = Dropped by Doctor Weavil at Dustwallow Marsh - Alcaz Island
  • Chapter II= Dropped by Felguard Elite at Blasted lands - Tainted Scar/Dark Portal
  • Chapter III = Dropped by Hederine Initiate & Hederine Slayer at Winterspring - Darkwhisper Gorge
  • Chapter IV= Undercity on table near the book vendor
  • Chapter V = Stormwind library
  • Chapter VI= Dropped by Onyxia
  • Chapter VII= BWL on a table, Near Firemaw's patrol path.
  • Chapter VIII= Dropped by Ragnaros When obtaining all the chapters , bind them together and go back to Narain.

The end of all his 3 "miniquests"

He will read the book and gives you a new quest The Good News and The Bad News.
You will need to obtain various materials

20 x Arcanite Bar
10 x Elementium ore
10 x Azerothian Diamond
10 x Blue Sapphire

After giving him the materials he gives you the final quest The Wrath of Neptulos.
You will need to kill Maws in the bay of storms , Azshara. After you killed him you finally get the Blue scepter shard.

The blue shard quest is finished !

The red scepter shard

Go to BWL and speak with Vaelastrasz , he gives you the quest Nefarius's Corruption (Raid). From that point on you have to kill Nefarian within 5 hours or he will destroy the shard.

After you kill Nefarion within the 5 hours you can loot the shard from him.

The red shard quest is finished !

The end

(Note Anachronos himself holds the Bronze scepter shard so you don't have to any quest for that one)

Go to Anachronos and deliver all the shards (if you haven't done so yet) and he will give you the Scepter of the shifting sands.

You are now capable of opening the gates of AQ

This concludes my guide , if you have any pointers / remarks / errors to report please feel free to do so , i have the nasty habbit of never rereading my own work /
