Durotar Level 1-12 guide by Woman
Version: 1.0.2 for WOW: 2.0.8
pix:
Pixures are up again.
Further Notes upcomming version 1.1.0:
I am sorry to say that I am taking a small break from WoW as another game has entered my life. Final Fantasy XII. As i kick ass at this game, it wont take long before I`ll be back. And I might even start to make a guide to higher levels.
Notes upcomming version 1.1.0:
I've had a few feedbacks, and both where very positive(i changed peoples lives!). To answer to response i will update the guide soon with hyperlinks instead of red quest names. I will use thottbot primeraly, and fill up with the althibazrae or what ever. Later I will make prettier pictures. With flowers. I still need help with formatting this guide. So please feel free to mail me if you'd like to help
Notes version 102:
Did some small updates. And you all should look forward to new pictures and better format. As you can see, all(if i havent forgotten some) quests are in red. These will probably change to blue as i will try to link them to thottbot.
Notes version 101:
Hi! started this guide on the first of march 2007. I would like lots of feedback, especially on how to improve the guide. In particular how i can add spaces between section in this guide. You might notice that it looks alot like Jame's guides. and like Hosho i must say that the formula works, and no need to change the working stuff.
guide notes:
ALWAYS loot, if you do not have room, try to figure out what is worth more so you can destroy something else..
This guide is not class spesific, but i based it on playing a Troll Rogue. If you want a nice solo PvE class try Hunter.
It can solo most quests in the game. Which is amazing. Some of the quests in this guide can be hard to do
solo if you do not have pet(ie Warlock, Hunter). But most(almost all) is fairly easy.
I use some addons through the CosmosUI utility. Quickloot and some other small ones.
And I use CTMOD for all the other basics including the ctmapmod. Auctioneer so i can see the worth of items without visiting vendor. I suggest you at least get a mapmod for this guide. (eg ctmod.net -> ctmapmod)
You can use which ever race you like for this guide, but if you hate walking i would recommend against Tauren. Which uses the longest to travel there. (i actually use about 7min to get from Undead startvillage to Orc/troll start village if I am lucky with the Zeppelins)

at Blue circle on the map. When lvl 2 go to point 2 and accept Sarkoth. Go to point 3 and kill off Sarkoth.

Turn in Sarkoth and Cutting Teeth at the entrance of the cave. Accept follow up
and go to general goods again. Equip new equipment if you can, or just sell it. Accept quest nearby
Galgar's Cactus Apple Surprise. Find your class trainer, and turn in that quest. Train new skills.Find
Zureetha Far gaze and accept Vile Familiars then go East and find Foreman Balthazar
and accept Lazy Peons (need to be lvl 3).
Level 2-4
Questing:
While running around now, keep your eyes open for Cactus's you can loot and Peons with ZZZ over them
(find them near trees and whack them with the club in your inventory) Go to Red circle. Start killing Scorpids.
When you have around 7 Scorpid Worker Tail head to Green Circle to kill 12 Vile familiars.
head back to Red circle and finish up on Scorpid Worker Tail. Head back to point 1 and make sure all quests
in quest log are Completed.
Preparing:
Go to General goods. Equip everything that is better and bags if it has dropped. Sell everything else.
Turn in all quests and buy new skills at class trainer. Accept the two new quests;
Burning Blade Medallion and Thazz'ril's Pick. Go to General store and equip all new equipment,
sell the rest(keep the apples, the +stamina and +spirit is nice).
Level 4-5
Questing:
Go to point 4. In the cave its kinda 3 routes. Go to the middle one, finding a glowing pick 43 53,
pick this up run a bit back to where you can see all three routes and choose the right one.
Follow this path till you find boss @ 43 52 kinda(in caves things are close, but not close at the same time
).
Kill him and pick up the medallion and then Hearth back to The Den.
Preparing:
Sell like usual and turn in quests. Equip new equipment and sell old ones. Accept the quest Report to
Sen'jin Village. You should be level 5 perhaps half the way to level 6
Level 5-6:
Run out of Valley of trial and stop at the red dot by the road. Accept quest A Peon's Burden(52.68).
Run south to the next red dot and accept Thwarting Kolkar Aggression(54.75) (this guys moves a bit,
but if you didn't find him there(54.75), run back cause you've passed him). Run east to the last red dot
and turn inn quests and accept ALL new quests: A solvent Spirit, Practical Prey, Minshina's Skull, Zalazane.
Follow the green line to Razor Hill. Make sure you are less than 430xp from level 6 before you get there.
Once you do get there Turn in quests, and accept all new ones:Vanquish the Betrayers,
Encroachment, Break a Few Eggs, Dark Storms, Carry Your Weight(top of the tower 50,40).
Go Sell all you do not need, and find Class trainer. Make Razor Hill you home.
RECOMMENDED: Go to First Aid trainer and learn First Aid.
Level 6-7:
Questing:
Run down to the red circle and start killing the humans there for Vanquish the Betrayers and Carry Your Weigh .
Run in to the castle and run up the stairs and find a chamber. It is around point 2. In here is the Lieutenant.
Kill him and pick up his key. Run a tad back and head up to the roof.
Open the chest there to get an envelope. Open your inventory and click the envelope. Accept the quest it gives.
Jump down and kill more humans to complete Vanquish the Betrayers and
Carry Your Weigh. Run back to point 1.
The Lieutenant might be to hard for you to solo, so try to Party for that Mob.
If not, come back later(level 10 before class quests and do this one,
The Admirals Order and From the Wreckage)
Preparing:
Turn in all quests and accept the new ones; The Admirals Order's and From the Wreckage..Sell what needs to be sold(keep linen cloth, wool cloth etc all the time, do not sell. If you need room go to bank later) and train First Aid. Use this as your primary healing function.
Level 7-8:
Questing:
Head to the green circle. Here you will find two of the mobs you need for the quest
Encroachment. Kill 4 of each of those two. What i usually do is kill most or all on
the east side of the mountain, then jump to the other side of the mountain and grind there. Try
to grind till you are about halfway or more to level 8.Run to the blue circle and kill crabs and those big crabby
things for the quest A solvent Spirit(the crabs here have bad drop rate, you do not have to finish it).
Around in the same area are chests which you need to loot for the quest From the Wreckage.
Make sure you are less than 700xp to lvl 8 before returning to point 1.
Preparing:
Turn in quests. Sell stuff. Then train your level 8 class skills. Make as many
Firstaidkits as you can, You do not need to have more than 20 Firstaidkits in your
inventory at any one time before you hit higher lvls. So feel free to sell the spare to vendor.
Level 8-9:
Questing:
Run down to the red circle and do Thwarting Kolkar Aggression(plans are at 49,81; 46,79; 47,77.
each their own camp and the only camps). Run Southeast to blue circle and kill tigers for Practical Prey,
pick up eggs on the ground for Break a Few Eggs. These are mostly found on the edges of the islands.
If you did not finish A solvent Spirit do so in the waters that surrounds the islands.
Go to the biggest island and kill a lot of trolls. At point 2 you can find Zalazane and nearby (67,88)
you can find of skulls on the very petite hill there. Loot one. Make sure Thwarting Kolkar Aggression,
Break a Few Eggs, Practical Prey, Zalazane, Minshina's Skull and A solvent Spirit are done before you
leave for Sen'Jin Village.
Preparations:
Turn in all quests. DO NOT sell the Quest Reward “Faintly Glowing Skull”. Remember to turn inn
Thwarting Kolkar Aggression too. Hearth to Razor Hill and turn in the last quest there
(here most people will say:”DOH! Forgot to make RH my home!”). You should now only have three quests
in your Qlog(perhaps you have a class quest). Use your linen to make more firstaidkits and lets get on with it.
(PS. I buy a new dagger for my character. The cheapest one I can get. Remember it has to be better than the
one you have or else you will actually be downgrading... Joke)
Level 9-10:
Questing:
Run to the red circle and finish the quest Encroachment.
After you get done with these guys, run up to point 1 and accept Lost but not Forgotten.
Run thereafter to point 2 and accept Winds in the Desert. Go do Winds in the Desert at the green
color thingy picking up sacks of supplies from the ground. Go turn it in at point 2.
Go back to Razor hill(3) and make sure you're level 10 or only 649exp away from it.
Preparations:
Turn in Quest. And sell all sellable. Now, many of you might get Class quests. Do not hesitate to
do these if you like. For those who have more quests or less than these:
Dark storm, The Admirals Order, Lost but not forgotten and Securing the Lines go do the quests
you haven't done yet(excluding the class quests). Some class quests will take some traveling,
and these can wait till you hit level 12, and indeed make them easier! For others, eg: hunters;
go do the class quests. Pets are the win! Lets get ready to go to Orgrimmar! Remember that Razor
hill is your home! Follow the road north out of Razor Hill and end up in Orgrimmar.
Level 10:
Go to point 1 to turn in The Admiral's order. Accept Hidden Enemies at thrall.
When you are done, go south out of orgrimmar.
Extra:
Talk to any guard to do what you might want to do. You might want to
learn new weapon skills or do class quests I personally as Rogue get one-handed sword.(which is in Undercity actually)
And If this is not my first character I might have sent some gold to my Rogue and perhaps
find a new weapon at AH. Not important in the least. If you still have 2bags(one which you got from questing) you might wanna buy some. But this is not important yet. As this guide usually go to town often enough to not fill up the bags. I at this point in the game found 3 6slot bags already and do not buy new bags. Some people might ask why I skip the venom quest(where u need to make antidote to a guy outside Orgrimmar). This is because i find the quest boring because of all the running i need to do. If you like to do it, just slot it in somewhere in the remains of the guide.
Level 10-12:
Questing:
Run to the red circle to do Securing the Lines. Enter the canyon by going to the green spot(its a tunnel).
When done run to point 0 and turn it in. Then run to the blue circle. Start on the north part
and work your way down to the south part killing all the alligators you meet for Lost but not forgotten.
If the quest item has not dropped when you reach the end of the circle, I usually drop(delete) the quest.
Go to point 1 entering through the yellow dot. Here try to pull one at a time and end it by killing Fizzle for the
quest Dark Storm. If you found the quest item for Lost but not forgotten go turn in it at point 1b.
Go to point 2 and turn in Dark storms. Accept the quest Margoz and do your routine in the town.
Run to point 3 (follow the blue dots) to turn Margoz inn and Accept Skull Rock. This next part helps to be level 11.
If you are not I suggest you grind outside the cave before entering. Go do Skull Rock and Hidden Enemies at
point 4(inside the cave). Make sure you are done with the two quests.
Then try to find the mob Gazz'uz inside the cave and kill him(this is hard, if you die don't bother with it.
Try using the Faintly glowing skull while killing him. It helps very much).
He drops a item which starts a quest. Accept Burning Shadows. When done run to point 3 and turn in Skull Rock.
Accept Neeru Fireblade. Make sure you are close to leveling 12(very close) before you run to point 5.
Level 12:
Run to point 1 and turn in all quests and accept all new ones at Thrall. Run to point 2 and
turn in all quests and accept new ones at Neeru. Then talk to Neeru for the quest Hidden Enemies. Run back to
point 1 and turn in all quests and accept all new ones. If you are not Troll or Orc go and get Flight Point at the wind master.
Now, I hoped you set your home to Razor Hill. Use your hearth stone(or run) and use all your linen to train enough
First aid to get new First aid skills. Perhaps you'd like to train some more at class trainer swell
(you should be level 12). At the west exit of Razor hill there is a Quest called Conscript of the Horde.
Accept this and follow the road west. Just after you cross the bridge Turn in Conscript of the Horde(accept follow up)
and Ak'Zeloth. I usually do not do the follow up for Ak'Zeloth, but that is your choice as my guide ends pretty much here.
In your quest log there might be some quests for a Dungeon called Rage Fire Chasm(which lies in Orgrimmar).
I don't usually do that instance, so these quests + quest items can be dropped, destroyed.
My Quest log usually only have quest Crossroads Conscription(excluding any class quests i might have).

Allright this is my second guide and this is about how to grind to level 6 while in duratar as an orc or troll. You'll also do some quests that are pointless not to do like if you're going to kill about 10 MOB's when theres a quest that you get rewarded for killing 5 MOB's.
Ok first of all this guide is recommended for hunters, warriors and rogues. The reason of this is because it took longer for me to grind my way to level 6 as a mage, priest, warlock or any other kind of spell casting class.
Once you've made you're character, talk to the NPC right in front of you named Kaltunk. Accept his quest and go into the Den. Talk to Gornek. Turn in you're old quest and accept the follow up.
All around the Den there are Young Boars. Kill them until you get to level 3 and complete the quest.
Now go turn the quest in. Sell extra loot. Also, accept the other two quests from the NPC that you turned the last quest in to. Go visit you're class trainer to finished one of them quests and to get new spell/abbilities.
Now head north of the Den until you get to the scorpians. Talk to a wounded troll under a tree to get the quest Sarkoth. Now, grind on scorpians until level 4 and also complete Sarkoth then turn it in and accept the follow up.
Now, go back to the Den and turn in you're Sarkoth quest. Sell you're loot, visit class trainer and get ready to head back out.
Ok, now instead of heading around the Den collecting quests, we're going to a cave North;East of the Den to grind on the MOB's at the cave until level 5. So, go ahead and do so.
Now that you're level 5 go inside the cave and start grinding on the MOB's there.
It may take a couple times through the cave but the point here is to get to level 6.
Now go back to the Den and sell you're loot. Also, visit you're class trainer.
CONGRATZ you finished this guide. I don't know if I'll make a level 6-12 guide. Maybe......
