It's quite simple,follow these 6 steps and you should have enought money to buy your level 40 mount at level 20.
STEP 1: Choose the two following professions:
-Skinning
-Mining
Step 2: As you level towards 20 try to find as many ores/skinable stuff and collect as many stacks of 20 you can fit into your bag/bank.
Step 3: Get a Leather worker to make all your "Ruined leather scraps" into "light leather"
Step 4: Since higher level players buy the items from the Aution house to level there professions, place your collected items into the Auction house at just above the lowest price.
Step 5: Wait for buyers, they don't take that long on a normal server. if your aution was not bought just repeat Step 4 until they are finaly bought.
Step 6: Sit back and watch your gold come piling in.

I use this strategy for every new character I make. However with mounts being reduced to level 30, I had my mount gold by level ~15-18. And using this my 28 Druid has 205 gold.
Very Simple way to make money
This is how i make money on most of my new server characters, and its good to see such a guide made for it. Despite how simple it may seem, some people still dont use this information.
It may be more profitable on some servers to take herbalism instead of mining though, it really depends on the server.
