I just hit 80 last night and this is my pre-raid gear list. This list is in my opinion the EASIEST for people who don't have copius amounts of time (or money) to spend on gear, so THERE ARE BETTER THINGS but this is the bread and butter so to speak.

If this guide is no longer maintained by it's original poster, I'd like to update and reformat it a bit to increase readability and usability in general.

As I am not checking here daily can someone mail me whether I can start on it?

Some of the gear listed isn't really the best out there, this is the list I made for my self, and I would recommend you check out/add some of these items:

• Head: Plunderer's Helmet, meta-gem socket and great stats to boot. Drops from last boss in Heroic UK.
• Neck: Pendant of the Outcast Hero, save your emblems for this one, at only 25 emblems needed its a steal.
• Shoulder: Spaulders of the Abomination, drops from Meathook in Heroic COT.
• Chest: You have the best in-slot chest listed pre-raid.
• Wrists: Eaglebane Bracers, these will last you a while, throw a good enchant on them.
• Hands: You have the best pre-raid hands up already.
• Waist: Although Vereesa's Silver Chain Belt is better, it requires 40 badges. So the belt you listed should suffice.
• Legs: Leggings of the Stone Halls, there really is no better alternative to these, and they will last untill your tier pieces.
• Feet: Boots of the Neverending Path, great boots, even though they are leather they provide more dps than the Kirin Tor boots.
• Rings: Mobius Band, from Heroic COT and I don't really have any other significant suggestions...
• Trinkets: Mirror of Truth, does work on ranged, save up all your badges for this one as it is worth it.. Sphere of Red Dragon's Blood, from Heroic Nexus last boss.
• Weapons: Runeblade of Demonstratable Power, amazing 2 hander, no decent 1 handers or upgrades untill you start raiding. Needs Revered with the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
• Ranged: Drake-Mounted Crossbow, the best ranged weapon you will see untill you can down Kel'Thuzad.

While this is list is nice and simple and certainly useful, there are several ways it could be improved.

1. Link the items to their WoWhead pages, so when the reader mouses over them they display the item and it's stats. Just use link tags:

   [ url=wowheadurl ] Item name (with formatting) [ /url ]

2. Provide a few options. I usually do two or three items per slot, but list them in order of "goodness", the best items on top. This allows the reader to get a slightly less powerful item while they grind the rep for the better one (or whatever).

3. Show us the rest of the slots. We are missing trinkets, neck, weapons, and rings.

4. Give us a few more details. Rather than just saying "made from leatherworking", list the materials needed.
