I keep getting an error
I keep getting an error message on the AddOn-Works in Progress page. I don't know if it's on my end or on the site, but it's the only page it happens on.

Me Again :P
Hello,
I have a question for anyone who can answer ...I am moving in about 3 months and right now i am running off of wireless internet aand i was wondering if when i move will i need to set up the wireless internet again, or will it still work (right now its connected to a desktop that does not work but still runs the wi-fi perfectly).
Honored Member
no problem
Probably it will work.
The wifi network internally will not change, so this should work.
Just the connection to the internet will probably have to be set up anew.
( unless you keep the same p[rovider )
But the internal section of your network ( everything up to the router connected to the actual internet ) will keep the same.
With wireless the only possible obstruction will be the signal strength and obstacles ( if you put your accespoint / pc further apart with stronger bsignal blocking walls and floors )

Oh well actually my dad is making buy the repair because otherwise it would be useless to have a laptop, I bought it for school/ gaming (20%/100%) so it would be useless to attach a external monitor to it thus making it non-portable

Ok so I have a big problem with my laptop because I accedentally dropped it breaking the LCD screen and now it will cost $510 which I'm not going to pay so I was wondering how to set an external monitor on it I have a toshiba sattelite

Attaching an external
Attaching an external monitor to your laptop= is actually a very simple task that doesn't require much knowledge, more like common sense.
Most notebooks support a VGA port. This port is exactly the same as the VGA port on a standard desktop. You simply plug the external monitor into the VGA port like you would if you were attaching it to a desktop model.
That's it, really

oh, ok. The monitors i have
oh, ok. The monitors i have at home tho are the older ones for desktops with the two big plus one is the power source and the other is the one that goes into the PC, will i eed to get a docking port or converter type deal thing so it could work?

You should not need a
You should not need a docking port (those things are stupidly expensive). However, you might need a converter cord. I can't tell what kind of port you are talking about without seeing it, unfortunately. If you want, you could take a picture of the ports on the back of your laptop and a picture of the cord from your monitor. Then I might be able to help a little more
(hopefully).

Well Guides to help people with technical Issues is great. But some sort of forum were you get the question and can anwser it would maybe be better since, almost all Issues are unique. Just a thought I had

I kind of agree with Andre,
I kind of agree with Andre, I'm not saying it's not a good idea to make guides about it but a serious thread on the forums would do far, far better. But then of course, you will have the problem of people spamming a thread with useless posts, instead of helping people with an issue.
I know the forums are offline because of Wrath of the Lich King, but Andre has a point. A good one, in my eyes.
I think I could run a forum like that, because I am hardware/software related with computers, after all. By running I mean keeping it clean from people that are spamming the forum and of course helping people with their hardware/software related problems.
Although, it will be you judging about this, Jame

Well this is just a guide
Well this is just a guide giving general advices about protecting your computer. We can also have a forum thread about it, it's not incompatible. I'll be re-activating the forums tomorrow by the way.
I'll of course accept all the help possible to manage the forums, just like I need help with comments and guides

I could help :)
Hi all,
If wanted/possible, I would love to help you on a thread/forum about computer-security. I'm still in the "hijackthis-school", for logfiles, but most of (or well.. 85-90% of the logs i can resolve and clean of keyloggers/malware.
Let me know, it'd be great if I could help
