WoWkings Guide to Midsummer Festival
***(HORDE ONLY)***

THIS is alot of walking so i recommend that you have your Mount and are
at least lvl 75+ because is you are lvl 75+ you can just go into a Cap
and run to the flame if you are a Rogue you can just Stealth through
the Cities and get the flame easily providing you dont aggro the guards

********************HORDE MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL GUIDE********************

1. Start in Silvermoon City. Exit the city and head west to the North Sanctum and Honor the Flame.
2. Go to Tranquillien in the Ghostlands and Honor the Flame.
3. Travel to the Undercity.
4. Get The Spinner of Summer Tales from any commoner.
5. Turn in to the Festival Talespinner.
6. Get Incense for the Festival Scorchlings.
7. Go to Brill and head just a little west of town (57, 51). Use your incense on the scorchling to complete and turn in your quest.
8. Honor the Flame in Brill.
9. Get, complete and turn in Torch Tossing. To do this, you must stand close enough to the bonfire so that your torches will light properly. Hotkey your torch then hit it to get the targeting circle. Throw the torch at the braziers that have a hunter’s mark showing above them. Note: You can do this in any major city.
10. Get, complete and turn in Torch Catching. To do this, you must stand close enough to the bonfire so that your torches will light properly. Use your torch to toss it in the air then attempt to catch it. I recommend looking at the shadow of the torch on the ground and standing on it to catch it. If you miss, be careful because you’ll get a DoT. Note: You can do this in any major city.
11. Get, complete and turn in More Torch Tossing and More Torch Catching. Note: These quests are dailies that you can do for more Burning Blossoms.
12. Speak with the Earthen Ring Elder and get the quest Unusual Activity.
13. Purchase at least 20 Juggling Torches from the Midsummer Merchant. Get a few more if you’re not confident in your ability to juggle. Save these for later.

16. Travel to Southshore and Desecrate the Fire.

67. Travel to Azure Watch in Azuremyst and Desecrate the Fire.
68. Desecrate the Fire at Blood Watch in Bloodmyst. ***
69. Travel to Dalaran and complete The Torch Juggler. To do this, use the Juggling Torches that you purchased earlier in the guide. Find a quiet corner in Dalaran where you have open space and have the least amount of lag. Tips: Bind your Torches to a hotkey (1 for this example). Press 1 to get the targeting circle and aim directly beneath yourself. Throwing them at yourself this way will allow you to catch them as fast as you can throw them. There is no global cooldown on the torches so you can spam away until you complete this achievement.
70. If you want to do the Northrend fires now would be a good time to do it. It is not currently part of the achievement. See the Northrend section for directions.
71. Take the portal to Shattrath. Go to Telaar in Nagrand and Desecrate the Fire.
72. Fly to Garadar in Nagrand and Honor the Flame.

74. Get yourself a group, enter the Slave Pens and turn in Ahune, the Frost Lord.
75. Get and turn in Ahune is Here!
76. Get, complete and turn in Summon Ahune. Tatics: Everyone in your party can summon Ahune once per day. So you will be able to fight him 5 times if you wish. Ahune is a two-phase fight. Ahune does not need to be tanked. During the first phase, have your tank pick up the largest add and have most of your DPS focus on it. One DPS should be designated to picking up and killing the other little adds. Mainly to keep them off the healer. Phase two will begin when you get a raid warning that says something like ‘Ahune has retreated’. He will change forms and become vulnerable to damage so all DPS needs to focus on him until phase 1 begins again. Note that Ahune will drop different loot depending on if the instance is normal or heroic.
77. Loot Ahune’s Ice Chest to get the Shards of Ahune item. Use it to get the quest Shards of Ahune. Turn it in to Luma in the Slave Pens. ***
78. Go to Telredor and Desecrate the Fire.
79. Travel to Swamprat Post then fly to Thunderlord Stronghold and Honor the Flame.
80. Go to Sylvannar in Blade’s Edge Mountains and Desecrate the Fire.
81. Return to Thunderlord Stronghold and then fly to Area 52 in Netherstorm. Honor the Horde’s Flame and Desecrate the Alliance’s Fire.
82. Travel to Thrallamar in Hellfire Peninsula to Honor the Flame.
83. Desecrate the Fire at Honor Hold.
84. Honor the Flame at Shadowmoon Village in Shadowmoon Valley.
85. Go to Wildhammer Stronghold to Desecrate the Fire.
86. Travel to Allerian Stronghold and Desecrate the Fire. ***
87. Fly to Stonebreaker Hold and Honor the Flame. ***
88. Return to Shattrath and take the portal to any major city.
89. Turn in Stealing the Exodar’s Flame, Stealing Ironforge’s Flame, Stealing Stormwind’s Flame and Stealing Darnassus’ Flame.
90. Complete and turn in A Thief’s Reward. ***
91. Visit the Midsummer Merchant and purchase a Mantle of the Fire Festival, Vestment of Summer and Sandals of Summer.
92. Equip your recently acquired summer garb and use a Ribbon Pole to dance for at least 60 seconds.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE GOTTEN THE TITLE FLAME KEEPER!!!!!

Thanks for making this, it's

Submitted by Jiyambi on Sat, 2009-06-27 03:46.

Thanks for making this, it's a good compliment to the addon version Smiling That said, because I just made my own guide and completed this holiday, I see a lot of things that need improvement. Here goes...

A few words of advice - formatting is everything. Currently this is a big wall of text, with no maps or anything. Not everyone knows off the top of their head where the "Wildhammer Stronghold" is, especially if they've never played Alliance. You should provide coordinates and/or a map for these. You also might want to break this up with some list formatting. Browse the guide writing guides section to learn how to do this. Also, when writing a guide, please use proper spelling and grammar. People are a lot more likely to listen to you and to think you know what you are talking about when you speak in correct English. Most of this is okay, but I see a lot of errors in the introduction.

I also wouldn't expect people to do Ahune right when they get to that area, unless you warn them ahead of time, because they may not be able to find a group (finding a group in Zabra'jin = fail - you need to be in a city to do this, really). Perhaps say, "you can do Ahune now, or wait and do it later on" or something like that. Please note that all those prerequisites are NOT required to summon Ahune anymore, you may want to note that they are optional.

Honestly for the Ahune tactics, your typical group of 3-5 80s will have no trouble killing him by a simple burn strategy. No tank is needed, a decent healer can easily heal through everything even while getting beat on by adds, and the DPS can AoE them occasionally to help the healer out. My groups usually burn Ahune down before he even enters phase 2 - it's just a waste of time to wait if you have 3 or more 80s in your group. Heroic mode is slightly harder.

A mention of why you would want to do Ahune more than once would be good - at 80, the only reason is to get the Scythe (which is just cool) and the pet, which is incredibly rare. Prepared to be disappointed, I've seen it drop once and have already summoned him around 40 times this year.

You may want to mention that there are also fires in Northrend, and their locations, since this is a guide to the holiday and not the achievement only, and many people want the pet or the pole in addition to the outfit, and need more fires.

Also, DON'T purchase Juggling Torches! This is a COMPLETE waste of blossoms that could be spent other fun stuff. You can use a friend's torches to get the achievement.

That's all I can see for now. Again, thanks for writing this, hope you continue to improve it!

I'm not going to post on the other two guides you released, since I would say the same thing. These comments apply to them all.
