Jame's Alliance Leveling Guide

Tips
If you don't want to try the Addon Version, here's how to enjoy the guides as much as possible, even if you don't have a 2nd monitor, you can either:
1. Print the guides. There is a "Printer Friendly Version" link at the bottom of every guide, you just have to click on it. However, that might be expansive (and probably expensive), because the guides are big, very big. Another downside is that my guides are updated very frequently, so if you print it you'll miss the latest updates.
2. Playing WOW in Windowed Mode feels very comfortable while following along with this guide.
- Keep the guide opened in an internet window
- Log in to World of Warcraft, press Escape and go to Video Options, tick the following boxes:

Click on "Apply".
Your screen will look exactly as if you were playing wow in full screen mode, besides you will be able to ALT-TAB to the guide INSTANTLY.
This is how I play wow while following my guide, when I don't feel like booting up my 2nd computer

Not written yet. Jame has
Not written yet. Jame has decided to prioritize the addon for now, since a lot of people actually get to 80 within the guides he currently has written. He's also been busy with RL of late and hasn't been able to make much progress. But they will be written eventually!
The guides for Northrend should get you almost to 80 though, if you are rested and if you do some instances. I recommend QuestHelper for the last few levels - not as good as the addon, but something!

Or you can go through the
Or you can go through the original TourGuide's guides. These actually works very well, I've tried the Storm Peaks guide once, that worked out very well : - )

What operating system are you using?
Be sure you are putting them in the right folder, if Curse normally puts them in the right place for you, this could be the problem.
Also, make sure you have "Load out of date addons" selected in the addon selection screen.
addons are not working
I'm using vista and i put them in Local Disk - Program files - World of Warcraft - Interface - Addons
yeah i do have load out of date addons at the screen i just don't see the addons there

Just checking you are
Just checking you are extracting them into the target folder. If you just copy the .zip files (which is how they come when you download them manually) then nothing will happen.
Sorry if this you are already doing this, but my mate had the same problem and it was because he was not extracting them, just copying them.

There's your problem. Vista
There's your problem. Vista will usually move the correct folder to:
C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons
You need to put your addons in this folder instead.
Hope this helps!

Hmmm, that's odd. I guess check the usual XP place, C/Program Files/World of Warcraft. Sorry, not sure if that will help much

I have, on my pally. I was typically a bit ahead of the guide (heirloom shoulders = higher XP). But only a little, it didn't "break" anything.
Nice to know it doesn't jump
Nice to know it doesn't jump to far ahead, and at such a low prices its well worth getting.

is it me or does james like allis more??? im saying that cuz i log on my alli chars i get zd icecrown ect... but when i log on my horde i get grizzly hills and i have the same things checked 4 both alli and horde y is this?

While I do think Jame's
While I do think Jame's first (and main) toons are Alliance (not confirmed but I seemed to get that impression) - thats not the reason for what you are seeing.
Jame does NOT have the Zul'Drak through Icecrown written for EITHER faction. You are seeing the default TourGuide guides, NOT Jame's guide. Are you sure you downloaded the newest Alliance version of the guide? Remember, if the guide doesn't say "WoWPro" and have Jame's name in the title, it's not his.
i have horde
i have the wow pro horde not alli one i have the latest 1 but it still shows zd icecrown ect on alli

Ah okay. If you don't have
Ah okay. If you don't have the Alliance version of the WoW-Pro guide downloaded, it will only show the default Tourguide guides - and those DO go up to Icecrown.
The answer is still the same though: Jame's guides only go up to Grizzly Hills currently, for both factions.

Hey
Hey Jame, Great Guides
Just wondering When your carrying on really =/
Still waiting for Zul Drak guides for my alts hehe, will be great to have them same quality and all

The release dates page
The release dates page shows Jame's future plans. From what he has said so far, he plans to make the addon his first priority until it is very high quality, then finish the Northrend guides. You can follow his progress on his blog.
Hope this helps!

So I should skip Blade's Edge and go straight to Northrend (Borean Tundra) right?
Oh and I hope you didn't read too much into my posting, I didn't write that to show off or claim I'm faster or whatever than others.
I really needed advise on what to do with all the conflicting info I was getting. I figure I was not getting the proper amount of EXP because I was considered too high for that area.
I also have a DK (Jame's build Unholy) }:) that was right in line with Jame's DK guide then finished Outland right at 71 then on to Northrend now lvl 75. Again, my DemoLock is 70 before Blade's Edge so I should just go to Northrend right?

As I stated before (I
As I stated before (I thought I was clear but I guess not!) it really depends on what is more fun for you.
I would advise staying in Outland until the quests or gray or it asks you to kill gray mobs. This is doubly true if you like achievements, since there are achievements for doing the quests there. Staying in Outland longer will leave more quests to do in Northrend after you are 80, which is a really good thing because it means more money!
However, if you are really bored with Outland then go to Northrend.
I'm not sure how else I can say it, do you have a more specific question about this?
Also, you didn't seem like you were showing off, don't worry
Too Much of a Good Thing???
I'm a little embarrassed to post this as a noob but besides thinking these guides are God Send I wanted to know if you can level TOO FAST? I'm 1/4 into Lvl 70 and I just now got to Blade's Edge Mountains area (Sylvanaar). I haven't picked up any quests here because I would like to know if I'm wasting time here. People are telling me to just go to Northrend and stop wasting time...Confused. Oh I'm a 100% DemoLock and think Metamorphosis is way too much fun!!!
lvl71 in outland
actually u r pretty slow. my fire mage was already 70 at nagrand, i followed the guide till blade's edge b4 i finally went 2 northrend at 71. even my unholy dk could reach 70 at nagrand.
Moderator
I wouldn't call it slow,
I wouldn't call it slow, you probably had more rested than he did. But it is indeed possible to ding 70 in Nagrand, I did this on my druid and probably will also on my pally.
Also, please make an effort with your spelling and grammar in the future!

Hah, trust me I know the
Hah, trust me I know the feeling. when you are level 70 in Outland, it's really your choice where to go. If you are interested in achievements or just like Outland, then stay and do the quests there while they still give XP, since if you want the achievements anyway you'll have to do them sometime and this will leave more quests in Northrend to give you money later. However if you are sick to death of Outland and don't give a hoot about achievements, then head to Northrend. It's really at this point just up to you and what is most fun for you!

He also closes the gap
He also closes the gap between the level you are when you finish Jame's Northrend guides, and level 80, if he continues in Outlands. Assuming this chap has no rested and goes directly into Northrend, he will end up at level 77 or 78, and then have no guide to follow. I mean, while leveling on my DK, I had rested all the way from 70 to 80, but I dinged far into Storm Peaks, just a few steps from finishing Zygor's (ridiculous) Leveling Guide.

Ah that is a good point. I'm going to end up with this same issue on my pally, she's level 66.5 and halfway through Zangarmarsh atm >_< But I'm sticking with the Outland guides since I'm revising them as a I level.
Jame's Guide Addon
I love the guides here, but I dont see why you would use the addon. I thought it would direct you around in an easy to use pattern with arrows and popup windows or something telling you what to do. It was just a confusing scroll of quests that I did already, was doing, or didnt even have yet. I had to sort and filter thru them and it was time consuming as well as confusing.
I dont know, maybe I didnt click the magical "Start" button or something. Anyway, thanks for the guides...they rock.

Well, there is no way for
Well, there is no way for the addon to know what quests or steps you have already done when you first start using it. So you have to manually click off steps to get to the point you are at. But after that, it is really the most efficient way to level I have ever seen (yes I know I'm biased). Truly, it's much easier than Jame's "paper" guides, and those kicked a ton of butt to begin with. It's a small bit of work to get your addon caught up to where you are in the guide, but I really think its worth it!

True That
Trust me on this one. Take the extra time to scroll through the quests you have already done. It doesnt take that long, or simply pick up the next guide at the next milestone. You wont regret it!

Hmmm, I'll look into it.
Am I crazy...
Ok I want to say it was 2? weeks ago, I decided to level my rogue from 70 to 80, and decided to try the addon version of the guide.
It was awesome, blew me away at how fast I was chewing through it, was super impressed.
The one thing is...unless I'm crazy/dreaming, the addon version definitely took me through zul'drak and stormpeaks...
So the other day I decided to level my shaman, download the addon and its only grizzly hills...help! If anyone has a solution, click a different link or something, please respond because I neeeeed those guides lol. Did I click a test version or...well what???

You were using the default
You were using the default TourGuide guides, NOT Jame's guides. They are a decent replacement when no Jame guide is available, but TRUST me when I say they are NOT as good as Jame's.
Those guides have now been hidden when the WoW-Pro addon is enabled, for exactly this reason - people were following them thinking they were Jame's guides.
If you would like to see the default guides, you'll need to temporarily disable the WoW-Pro portion of the addon at the log-in screen.
A fix is possibly in the works for this that will put the guides in sub-folders in the TourGuide menu, but for now this is the only way to view those default guides. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just untill its available..
With all the repect to the work Jame and all you are putting into this add-on guide, I don't really see the meaning of having to disable the old guides or Tourguide..
I DO love Jame's guides, but since I dont have any for Ice or Storm, why disable those?
Maybe it could be an idea to keep those guides active while no Jame's is available.
just to give the players a help even if it's not yours..
I hate the idea to have to disable Jame's guide..

We are aware of this
We are aware of this problem. We get complaints like yours about 10 times a week, but if we enable the standard guides again we get at least the same amount of complaints by the people who accidentaly use the standard ones instead of ours... So please try to live with it as it is, until we find a better solution.
