Treston's Herbalist's Guide to Making Over 50 Gold an Hour!

Treston's Herbalist's Guide to Making 50 Gold an Hour!
Introduction:
I toyed with the idea of calling this guide "Treston's Horde Herbalist's Guide to Making Over 50 Gold an Hour" but decided that since most of the information was fraction neutral I would leave out the Horde moniker. That being said I have included additional information specific to Horde players.
Disclaimers:
1. I am not an expert Gold Farming! There may be other ways to make a lot more money an hour than what I am sharing. If so please feel free to share in the comments section of this guide.
2. A lot of the information I am sharing is dependant on your server's economy. Before you begin you should read through this entire guide and check the average AH prices on the items mentioned. If those items do not fetch premium prices this guide may not be for you.
Special Thanks:
I would like to thank Jame for inspiring me to write a guide! Jame's Horde Leveling Guide has gotten me to 60 and in return I thought I would give back while waiting for Jame to finish the final chapter (60 to 70).
Requirements/Recommendations:
- Herbalism Skill: 245 Minimum. This is the lowest level at which you can harvest Ghost Mushrooms. Ideally you will want your Herbalism Skill to be at 260 so you can harvest any Golden Sansam you run across.
- Character Level: 48 Minimum. You will need to be able to kill level 48ish Mobs in the Hinterlands. At 60 most mobs will ignore you unless you walk right on top of them which makes the money making that much faster.
- Add Ons/Mods: I strongly recommend you download/install Gatherer as well as the Auctioneer Add Ons. Gatherer will remind you where you ran across the various herbs while Auctioneer will help you get the most gold out of the items you place up for sale on the AH.
The Guide:
- Begin in the Under City (If farming Gold is your main priority, you may want to set your hearthstone here until you reach your Gold farming goal).
- Visit Algernon in the Apothicarium. If he has the Recipe: Elixir of Shadow Power, buy it for 90s. If you have the Alchemy skill and it is high enough, keep and learn your 1st purchased recipe as not only will you be farming the ingrediants for Elixir of Shadow Power but those Elixir's sell for 7-10g each. Each time you visit UC you should check for this recipe, it can be regularly resold on the AH for 5-10g. This handy 5g+ profit is not considered in my claim of making 50 Gold an hour.
- Fly to Hinterlands. Aerie Peak for Alliance. Revantusk Village for Horde.
- As soon as you land head directly towards Skulk Rock (57,38). Feel free to stop for any herbs such as Sungrass or Fadeleaf on the way.
- Inside Skulk Rock you will find an average of 3 Ghost Mushrooms. Ghost Mushrooms grow in few places in WOW but are used in key potions such as the Elixir of Demonslaying, Elixir of Shadow Power, and Ghost Dye which is needed Ghostweave armor and Gloves of Spell Mastery. * If you are a Rogue (like me) stay in stealth mode and be sure to pick pocket all the slimes to add another 2g+ to your hourly in-take.
- Once you harvest all the Ghost Mushrooms exit the cave and randomly wander the Hinterlands. The Hinterlands map is covered with Sungrass which, because of it's use in Superior Healing, Superior Mana, and Greater Agility potions (to name a few) sells for 4-7g a stack. In addition to Sungrass you will find Fadeleaf which sells for 1g per on most servers and even the occassional Golden Sansam which is used in Major Healing Potions.
- Wander the entire Hinterlands map from west to east but DO NOT go to Seradine. The 60+ Elites there will have most players for lunch in just a few hits. After 12 minutes return to Skulk Rock.
- Every 10 to 15 minutes the Ghost Mushrooms will be ready to be harvested again, allowing 4 full harvests in an hour. You can continue to repeat this routine but I usually limit myself to 1 or 2 hours to keep myself from dying of boredom.
To prove this works I took the inventory from 4 different runs and averaged it out, here is what my average 1 hour gathering session yields:
- 47 Sungrass: Each stack of 20 sells for an avg 5g - Total 10g (7 Sungrass left over for my own potions)
- 12 Ghost Mushrooms: I turn these into Elixir of Shadow Power (12 would make 4 Elixirs) and sell for 9g each, you can get similiar prices just by selling the mushrooms outright - Total 36g
- 10 Fadeleaf: Sell for 1g each - Total 10g
The other 2 big items I am not taking into my hourly total are the 13 Golden Sansam I pull on average or the 4 Khadgar's Whiskers. The Golden Sansam prices are usually above Sungrass but below Ghost Mushrooms on my server, so you could safely estimate an additional 10g from these ingrediants.
I hope you found this information some what useful, and hopefully it enticed Jame to finish his last Chapter for the Horde. I appreciate any questions or comments you may have.

Sigh
So... Don't go whining on about "It doesn't sell for 1g each"
.-. This gold making guide seems okay ^^ however, I'd like something that you won't die from boredom while doing =P
P.s. forgot to mention: after they take away fadeleaf as regeant for blind ability (Rogue), fadeleaf will go down alot ofc... There are still some nice pots to use it in, but it mainly sells to 70 rogues with a too big pile of cash.
Not bad
Not bad at all and i know that feeling what you feel about Jamey!!!
I also have that feeling and i also made a guide cuz Jamey took me to 58and from then i lvl myself:))
Pls if you have a little time then read my guide: Jointosmano's Moey making guide: Earn 200 gold/hour.
Fadeleaf
Fadeleaf is NOT 1g each! you can get 20 of these in an hour in STV... they sell for around 5g per stack on my server, Norgannon. Seriously, the only people you will get these from r the people who are new to WoW and you say that they are "rare herbs" other than that, this guide is really good farming area for those higher levels, me myself farm south of camp T, its a skinners/herbalists farming area when your level 20 to 25... but im putting this on my favorites, although itll be awile till i can farm this place with my herbalist, hehe... but once you do get up to that level, you can farm more money than that if you start killing beasts with skinning
Prices do differ from server
Prices do differ from server to server, you know..
