Shocked that sucks. i get gold farmer spam ingame a lot, and somehow they got a hold of my email and i get upwards of 10 junkmail from people named mary, jack, jebus, and idkwhothisis. just signed up today but i have read the forums from time to time and have been activly using the guids. hopefuly it wont take too long to build back the forums Smiling

Sorry to hear about your email being compromised by gold sellers but I have an answer for them ingame.

This won't work for the sellers who invite you into group -- never accept invitations from stangers. Eye But this mod will grab every chat you're sent and auto-write up a report to Blizz. All you have to do is verify and send it. Blizz will take care of the account.

Indeed spam sentry is a really god way to get rid of spam, and the bot report feature is quiet nice^^

Not that I saw as many bots as we were used in the past (pre expansion, but sometimes I still find some running around.

Yeah a Chinese farmer spammed the shit out of the forums posting approximately 30 messages with gold spam. After I deleted the first bunch (and I had to delete every message seperately) he returned with a different account and made 30 more.
He was able to do that because the forums worked with phpbb and were not integrated into the site. This means that neither the spam filter worked there nor any mass delete functions.
I would have loved to be able to use phpbb forums instead of this... but I just don't have the time to delete hundreds of gold spam messages a day. I'm sorry for all the posts that were lost in the process but the harassment of that gold spammer really left me no other choice.
