Revision of Best items outside of raids for Restoration Druids from Wed, 2009-01-14 00:38

Introduction:
This list of items includes all the gear I personally think is the best to get, before you start raiding the 10 man or 25 man instances as a restoration skilled druid. This guide is meant to be an overview of the available items, so that you can better focus your heroic instance runs and your emlems of heroism. You might also use this guide to evaluate the equip of a new guild aspirant.

NOTE: I often included more options per item slot, because I think either one of these options will do it's purpose. Anyway, the first item in the list, will be my personal favorite. Sometimes I listed the options, because other items for the same spots are harder to get, or it might take a longer time to reach them.

Needs an update

This guide could use an update, but is still useful as is. It will be obsolete when the expansion is released, however, and will be moved to the archive section at that time.

Since I play a resto (and

Since I play a resto (and feral) druid as my main, I was thinking of updating this, but...

I can't find the link to add a new guide, or to edit the existing guide (I'm assuming I can't edit it due to my karma level - or lack thereof). :D

On the top menu bar there's a button that says "Contribute", go to "Create Content", then "Guide" and you'll have a blank guide! :)

I am betting that's because you are a new user. The settings were not always that way. I will see what I can do.

Until then, feel free to work on your guide on your own, and when it's done, I can create a guide and set you as the author. Hopefully we'll have this straightened out by then, though.

Thanks, Jiyambi! :)   BTW,

Thanks, Jiyambi! :)

BTW, I'm not a new user - I've had this account on wow-pro for a couple of years, plus a bit of guide editing over on github, and random comments here and there on the site. :D  I just don't have any karma.  LOL

Hah, that's the problem with having some of our stuff over on Github - I don't always know when someone has an account here to give them Karma. I'm going to go ahead and make you a Trusted Member, since I do remember your edits over there.

Well, there's one thing I

Well, there's one thing I won't agree with your list.

I would prefer the "War Mace of Unrequited Love" from Keristrasza in heroic Nexus in combination with the "Handbook of Obscure Remedies" for 25 Emblems of Heroism. With a one-hand weapon and an additional off-hand you'll always get more spell-power.

Ahh...just noticed my mistake. I did not include the Spirit on the Handbook of Obscure Remedies therefore I thought it had more Manareg, which was wrong. In fact, you get 8.6 more Manareg with Mainhand + Offhand.

Thanks a lot for that comment!

Hey Fron, I was thinking

Hey Fron,

I was thinking about that a long time too. I used Wowhead Comparison Tool for comparison and took 1 mp5 = 2.985 Sprit as a calculation basis for manareg from Elitist Jerks.

So I would gain:
+ 5 Int
+ 24 Stamina (neglectable)
+ 31 Spirit
+ 63 Haste
+ 4.12 mp5
and would "only" loose 59 Spellpower.

If I'm wrong, please give me the details, why the Mainhand + Offhand is better.

Indeed, I have had a gearing guide up for a week or two now. Since you seem to be a pretty knowledgeable resto druid, I would love to have your comments on my guide as well, it really is a product of all the knowledge of all the WoWhead trees, not just me! So your contributions would be greatly appreciated.

I sent you a reply to your message Smiling hope we can work out something to make both of our guides as useful as possible Smiling

This is very nicely done

This is very nicely done text formatting wise, so it kinda pains me to say it, but we already have something similar Sad

However, judging from how this guide looks, I'm sure your next guide will be awesome. Just make sure to pick a topic which is not already covered Eye

Thanks for pointing me to

Thanks for pointing me to that guide, because I didn't see that before. My plan was to create a list, for every class and specialization, so it just happened to be the resto druid, I started with.

I will contact Jiyambi and see, what we might work out in this case. I could think of leaving it as a seperate list and linking it in his guide. We will see...

Actually that would be

Actually that would be great. If you can create such a nice list for every class and spec it would definitely be a big contribution to the site.

You just happened to start with the worst class/spec though. Blame Jiyambi! Sticking out tongue
