They dont seem to be too
They dont seem to be too worried
"We are not worried in the least about going to court over this. This is simply a bully tactic by Blizzard in hopes to scare people off - uneffective.
Addons, and our guides, for WoW can be entirely created without actually owning a WoW account, and thus agreeing to their ToS and EULA, which include these new policies.
The most Blizzard can do is individually block all addons they do not approve of, which would require an enormous system which, we believe, is not in place as of yet at Blizzard. They will not ban user accounts, they will simply try to enforce a ban on individual addons by disallowing them to load inside the game.
Banning the accounts of their paying customers for using addons which they pay for with their own hard-earned money, and choose to use of their own free will, would not be a very smart business decision for Blizzard - and a risk they are probably not willing to take. The only time I've seen Blizzard ban anyone's account for 3rd party software, was if they were using Glider, or some similar bot to actually entirely play the game for them without them - or for hacks and cheats. And even then, these programs were not actually addons, but fullblown software that ran independently of WoW in the background of your computer. Our guides do not fall into this category.
So, either way, your accounts are safe, please do not worry about that at all - if you were.
It is no secret to us that Blizzard does not like Zygor Guides, or any other guide makers for that matter. Just look at the court case a few years back where Blizzard tried to sue Brian Kopp for selling his guide on ebay. Brian Kopp won. Granted, that was a PDF guide and not an addon - just an example.
Already, we are working on an alternative to our in-game guides, which we will hold on to in the event that such measures need to be taken (ie. Blizzard starts blocking our guides from functioning inside WoW).
We are not going to just lie down and we do not quit. We will continue to provide you with quality products and exceptional service. We will continue to change and adapt to what is thrown at us.
We are not going anywhere. "

Not Picking a Side....
I'm not picking a side here, but:
The same thing can be said about Glider.....
Evidently, they've never heard of "the Warden"? I would link it, but the URL contains parenthesis and URL tags don't like them in links. Go to wikipedia.com and search for Warden. You'll find the link as the second one under Gaming.

Blizzard is already using Warden.

Exactly.....
That was my point....LOL I'm wondering if whoever I was quoting (I'm assuming someone at Zygor) had ever heard of the Warden.
Also, I just found this:

Let's get all the people sad
Let's get all the people sad and heartboken because of this over here! Let's offer them cookies and ice cream and pie and chocolate and Jame and guides and more guides.

I'm very happy with this
I'm very happy with this new. I'm not eager to see what the various Joana-Brian Kopp-Zygor-iDemise and other will do. I hope that this will encourage people to see this wonderful website; though, I remember Jame saying that most of the profit comes from the web browsing... so even though if the addon is running good, it's better to log in

So apparently, the maker of questhelper is going to stop developing it because of this change. They said that it's almost impossible to get donations without advertising through the actual addon. I kinda feel bad, but then again, that means more people will be using the guides here.

Huh, I used questhelper for a long time and never saw any donation requests. Weird.

Well I'm not sure if it's true, but here's where I read it:

Oh I beleive you, I've heard it elsewhere too. I just thought it was funny that they were closing their doors because of this when I (a typical user, or so I think) had never even noticed the donation request.

Haha
'Bout time.

/high five I'm glad they

I'm glad they allowed donations though. I'm pretty sure there are addons out there that would go under if they didn't have donations to pay for the hosting (or the servers or whatever. I have no idea how this stuff works).
