Same here

Same story with me, although in my case my alts are sill somewhere between 90 and 110 since I completely skipped WoD. Only did a little Tanaan grinding in the weeks before Legion to get Draenor flying so I could level all my chars faster on that first half of the missing level range.

My Main is 110 and is at the point where the tree is planted in our hideout. My shaman alt is now 102 and bouncing around in Stormheim, my Paladin is 100 and hasn't started Legion content yet and my priest is 93 and just starting out WoD content. All others are still at 90 since I don't have that much time to play sadly.

More advanced Directions

Hey everyone, I love the add-on and guides you have made. I do
however, have a question about the current way the guide gives
directions. Some of the other guides I have used were able to show me a a
"quickest route" to my way-point location. Will WoW-Pro ever receive
this feature? Does anyone know of an add-on that can also do what I am

P.S. Here is an example of what I am asking. The
current guide I am using is helping me farm the Raven Lord mount. I am
currently in the new Dalaran that released with Legion. The add-on is
now telling me I should go to the chamber of the guardian so that I can
use the portal to Shattrath City. After using the portal and spawning in
Shattrath City the add-on will then prompt me to travel in the
direction of Sethekk Halls.

Emmaleah's picture

Re:More advanced directions

I'm not exactly certain what you are asking.  But ...what I think is that you are wanting the guide to tell you where the portals are and the steps needed to get to the destination.

Alas, the addon does not have a way to display differant instructions based on where you are.  So the guide writers pick a common start point.

I expect the guide was written before legion and so the writer couldn't have referanced the chamber of guardians. If someone wanted to suggest improvements to specific guides, the comments should be posted to that guide

You are correct, that is what I hoping to find out. It's not a huge deal, really. There are just so many ways to get around Azeroth it's hard to remember all of them. Thanks for the reply Emmaleah.

Hunter Order Hall

Help been trying to fogire this out for days, according to the guid I am 3/4 in my hunter order hall, yet I have no clue what I am missing. I see nothing showing me where I am and what is the last piece. When I go to tthe guides part I see a green icon next to it but everytime I check it it vanishes. Help,

Re: Hunter Order Hall

Are you level 101+ ?   There is a questline that starts with [Pledge of Loyalty] that you cant do till then.

You can right click on the guide window and view the current guide and you can see what quests remain to be done.

If you bring the mouse over the earliest one in the guide, it will tell you why you are not eligble to do that quest.

Hmm, there seems to be a slight syntax error on [Pledge of Loyalty] but it should not cause you a problem.

Treasure chests

Is there a way to turn them off in the guide?

Don't really want to collect them while levelling.

Emmaleah's picture

Treasure chests

On the version to be released today. (or currently available on github all but highmountain),-- all treasures have been moved out of rank 1.  If you want to delete them entirely you could open the guide file with a text editor of your choice and delete (or comment out with a ";) all lines that started with a "$" (doller sign).  Be sure and save in text format with the original file name (or add the new name to guides.xml in the same directory on your computer).  Be aware any modified files will be overridden when you download the next update, so have backups to rcompare  and restore after updating.

Adding in Ignore Quest?

Would it be possible to make the guides ignore quests based on a level? For instance, in Legion, when you are 110, the area objectives are not longer available.

Emmaleah's picture

Bonus Objectives

The newest version ignores the bonus objectives at 110.  Also, they have all been moved out of rank 1.  This version will be released later today.

Memory warning at login

First, I have a 2009 27" iMac. Second, because a friend of mine has had some brain surgery and needs occasional help, I sometimes log on to his account to see if I can help him.

Now my problem is that since downloading the last Guide update, when i log into my account, I get a warning box that says, "WOW-Pro addon will not load due to insufficient memory" but when I log into my friends, I don't get that.  Same machine, using the same addons, so I suspect the only difference must be in account settings somewhere. I don't know anyway of running both at the same time to see where my settings need to be changed. Went through what I have and didn't see anything obvious, but then I have no idea what a lot of those are. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Just dropping a quick thank you as I have been leeching these guides for years.

Just curious if there is some grunt work I can take a swing at if need be to give back a little.

So i dont see any legion guides. how do i get them. do i have to manualy enter them, how do i do this?

Legion Guides

Most of the legion guides are done, and We are in the process of fine tuning those guides.  Suramar is also currently being created (that I know of).  If you downloaded WowPro from Curse you will not have all the guides, click the big download button on the front page, and then just copy the files in the Zip into your interface\addons dirctory.

do you all know about when sarmara will be finished? just a time frame would be nice love the addon leveled 3 toons so far with it. and love it

I'm going to restart a Suramar guide with my next 110, but I'm just getting started on my next toon to run though the Isles... there is no real 'flow' with Suramar that I can see....

1...2...3...not it.  My plan is getting the class hall guides in an acceptable state which I expect will take me a couple of months at least.

Thanks for making a note

Thanks for making a note here.  I always delete all my WoW-Pro files before I install them, but when I did it after downloading 7.0.3O, it STILL didn't have the new zones, and I had even deleted my cache before doing it.  After seeing this note, I went in AGAIN, deleted the files by hand and re-unpacked them from the file I previously downloaded and when it came back up it gave me the other options.

I can't tell you what a PIA it is to do the profession quests when you get to 110 because everything is tied into Surimar and I can't tell what I've done and what I haven't done or where the quests even are so not having all the zones for my WoW-Pro guide is killing me. :(

I thought all but Stormheim  and Suramar were in 7.3N.  7.3L adds Stormheim - Horde, I didnt check on Alliance.  Suramar, is as yet unstarted as far as I know.

The current version is 7.3L always be sure to be on the current version as that is the best way to have all the latest updates.

Installation help

So, I just attempted to install the addon into my C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns, folder.  I unzipped all the files (6 total), restarted my computer several times. And re opened WOW addons at the character select screen with no WOW Pro showing at all.  I currently have approximately 15 other addons installed.  What am I missing or doing wrong?  Any help will be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Re: Installation help

Can you check if the Addons folder contains the 6 WoWPro folders or just one?It should contain the fodlers for all 6 WoWPro Modules. WoWProWoWPro_AchievementsWoWPro_DailiesWoWPro_LevelingWoWPro_ProfessionWoWPro_WorldEvents

What happened most likely is that you unzipped it in a folder called WowPro+v7.0.3M Which is why WoW cannot find the addon. (The zip utility also created a parent folder with the name of the zip)

Shadowmoon@Draenor not working suddenly

I was in the middle of questing when i got an error message and the guide for Shadowmoon wouldn't load anymore. I was nearly to the end of it and had been using it all afternoon. This is the error I get every time i log in now. I have tried to remove/reinstall the addon without any success in fixing the issue. Any ideas?

Quest not registering?

First of all: Thanks for the addon, and your support with this addon. I have used it a looong time, and I really enjoy it. As a completionist of sorts, I feel it is an highly valuable addon.

Second, in a great many guides, I have noticed that there is a lot of quest that do not update in the guide. Example, the Zangramarsh guide, it will not updates the "Daggerfen Poison Vial" pickup, or the "Idols of the Feralfen" amongst others. This is also true for a great many other guides.

I noticed as I picked up an idol, that the number in the guide (0 / 6) flickered quickly, and then remained at 0 / 6. Seems something is resetting the number back to 0 always. (my theory atleast).

This means that every time you log in, every time you do a /reload, or every time you change zones, the number, and the entry that you needed to manually tick off to get away - pops up again. So the check to see wether you have done a quest or not does not seems to work either (on some entries in each guide.)Anything I can do to assist in correcting these errors? Thanks,

Emmaleah's picture

quests not updating

I dont know that it is true for all instances of the problem, but many of them... its because Blizzard changed it so you dont pick up quest items (with WOD)... so the addon can't count them.  Someone needs to go thru and update all the old guides for this.

Fixed on this site, next time Ludo pulls the guides in (next update presumably) it will be corrected in the download file.  If it is driving you nuts before then (i.e. you havent finished the zone) you can open the file (found at C:\World of Warcraft\interface\addons\WoWPro_Leveling\Alliance\75_77_Jame_Grizzly_Hills.lua) with a text editer and fix it by putting the "|" between the 2 and K (i.e. "12292|Kore".

At the front page of the WoW

At the front page of the WoW Pro Addon you state

"Adjustable XP settings work with..."

Where can I adjust XP settings?

General questions?

I'm new to wow-pro, but I absolutely love the idea of something to usurp dugi and zygor, that isn't just free, but user contributed!

So here's my list of thing I haven't been able to do just yet with the most recent release.

1) Quest tracking? I'd love to disable the default blizzard quest window and simply use wowpro. There's options in the mod that seem to suggest wow-pro will allow you to track quests through it? I have them enabled.. But no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to add a quest to be tracked?

2) Auto accept quest and auto turn in, don't seem to work. I've only tried this so far in Daenor, but I haven't had any luck getting quests to auto turn in or accept? Does W.P. only do this for the currently tracked guide quest? If so, can we maybe consider adding an option to do it on all interfacetalks with NPCs?

3) There doesn't seem to be a way to hide the guide window easily without disabling the entire mod itself via the settings menu? ALT-Z of course is a dirty work around. Sometimes I just want to clear certain windows while doing certain things. It'd be nice to have a way of temp hiding and restoring the window.

I figured I'd put these out here before daring to put in any suggestions. Every time I get into using W.P. I do find extra little things I wasn't expecting or didn't see before. Hate to open my mouth and find out, there's already an option or solution for these things. Thanks you Ludovicus, for making this possible. I sure hope this picks up steam again! I'd love to see this on the curse top 10!

addon window moves between reloads/relogs

I have latest addon - 6.2.3.

I've changed several settings (smaller fonts, disable border, increase minimal size, move window, disable drag).

Looked ok. But everytime i relog (or /reload), the addon window slides few pixels downwards ...After several /reloads it is completely off where I want it to be ...

Ludovicus_Maior's picture

Re: addon window moves between reloads/relogs

Oh!   I have noticed this, but thought I was moving the window with my bad mousing.

The fact that it happens after a /reload is a great clue.   Version 6.2.4 will not fix this, but I can give you early access to a developer release when I track it down.

Stay tuned.

Lost Isles / Kaja'mite Cavern

Another issue I ran into while running two quests that transition between Lost Isles and Kaja'mite Cavern, is that because Kaja'mite Cavern is a map with a different set of coordinates, it throws any set waypoints out several thousand miles. I started Miner Troubles and Capturing the Unknown and once I had completed the first objective on Capturing the Unknown, TomTom's waypoint readout updated and changed drastically causing my next waypoint to be outside of the map. I ran a test on the MapID to see if it had it's own ID and it still registers the same as Lost Isles (544).

I reminded me of Orgrimmar with the sub-maps (Orgrimmar@Orgrimmar and Cleft of Shadows@Orgrimmar)...

Waypoints in Kaja'mite Cavern

I was testing the current Lost Isles guide and I found some issues when dealing with Tom Tom and the waypoints within the Kaja'mite Cavern. Upon completing part of the objectives for quests Miner Troubles and Capturing the Unknown, my waypoint arrow updated and then established the waypoint several thousand feet away. It appears that Kaja'mite Cavern has it's own map even though it still registers as MapID 544 (Lost Isles). Before you start completing any of the quests inside of the cavern, the coordinates will remain unchanged, but once you complete one of the multiple objectives, the coordinates go out of synch with the map and things get wonky.

Is there a fix for using TomTom in conjunction with WoW-Pro? This is kind of frustrating when writing and using guides.

Ludovicus_Maior's picture

Re: Waypoints in Kaja'mite Cavern

Caverns are troublesome spots in World of Warcraft.   Some of the have their own maps, some of them have no maps and share coordinates with their parent terrain, others are super-secret floors in the terrain.

Worse yet, they change things.   I just discovered that many of the unphased starting zones map IDs are now returning junk as of 6.1.2 when they were just fine in 6.1.1!

Now, If memory serves, Kajamite Cavern is a floor in map 544 that is normally hidden.  The problem I used to see was that when you were in the cavern, the waypoint was always 0 yards away.    If it is way off, then someone looked up the zone and mapped it to the wrong place.

First thing you need to do is get the update to the addon with the new Astrolabe library.

I've been working with the author of TomTom on a fork of the Astrolabe library to try to address some of the new mapping issues.

If I am lucky, Kaja'mite Cavern might just be fixed.   If not, we will get it working.  TomTom relies on the map data gathered by Astrolabe, which is why we are both trying to get the code fixed!

PS:  The latest addon can always be downloaded from

Waypoints in Kaja'mite Cavern

Last night I had a couple of messages show up in my chat box, prompting me to notify WowPro...

You discovered new map info for The Lost Isles: Kaja'mite Cavern. Please report this on the website.

[544/1] w=274.000000, h=182.666626, xO=-2815.000000, yO=-514.166687

Does this help with the issue I am experiencing at all?

What I have noticed so far is that like you said, Kaja'mite Cavern is a "floor" of The Lost Isles map. The problem is that upon entering the cavern, TomTom and the arrow do not update to the coordinates, so if you use The Lost Isles coordinates, you're fine until you complete the first objective inside the cavern. After that, the coordinates update and change to the Kaja'mite Cavern map and then it throws your waypoint(s) off.

Ludovicus_Maior's picture

Re: Waypoints in Kaja'mite Cavern

This tells me that the Astrolabe library was unable to pre-compute the map information for Kaja'mite Cavern, which leads to the arrow being wonky.

We are actively working on the problem, but it is a nasty Blizzard bug that we are trying to find a work-around for.

While I was testing something

While I was testing something and logged in, the chat box displayed the following:
