Apologia Pro Ludovicus Maior

Folks, I am sorry I have gone dark for awhile.   Yeah, I got some pretty bad bronchitis, but that was not the only thing going on.

At the start of July, my spouse was told that he would need to start treatment for multiple myeoloma again.  There was a blood test that they were doing for the past 3 years that indicated that it was there and slowly coming back, but it is not really real until they started  talking treatment.

They spent a whole week taking bone marrow samples and doing all sorts of “procedures” before they started the actual chemotherapy  on August 22nd.   The chemo cycle takes 21 days and repeats as long as it keeps improving things.

The chemo is not like the old fashioned “lose your hair and live in a plastic bubble stuff” from only a decade ago.   But when they say that a frequent side effect is “mood swings” and “sleep disturbances”,  they really mean it.  I am tempted to tell stories, but everything on the internet eventually gets back to bite you :-).

So, I am back, and hopefully on a more regular schedule.

Glad to hear you are doingGlad to hear you are doing better, hope your other half does well.  I was in the hospital recently myself.  Heh, mood swing and sleep disturbances are also a side effect of my treatment of liquid steroids.  My wife describes me as me having PMS and being pregnant.  o_O
