Suggestion on how to use these guides (from PraterR)

I found that playing WOW in Windowed Mode feels very comfortable while following along with this guide.

The guide will be open in an internet window.
You then Alt-Tab to your WOW game. (Log in and enter game world)
Press escape and access your Video options. Near the top there is a checkbox with "Windowed Mode" inscribed next to it.
Check the Box [x] and press okay.

You will notice that you can move and stretch your WOW window in such a way as to see the internet guide above or below it.

When you need to click the internet window and scroll down or up (depending on how you want to view it) to the next paragraph of the guide.

Hey there

Hey I just signed up here on the advice of a friend who I has always been able to level his toons with unbelievable speed (or at least I thought so). Last night while I was talking to him on our guild's vent he pst me with just the phrase "Jame's Guide" then told me that if I googled it I would find how he does it. So while I haven't used the guide myself, apparently the credit for his success goes to you! So keep up the good work, & I am looking forward to more efficient playing experience myself, thanks!

Death Knights! Or just possibly 70+!

Hey Jame, a huge fan of your guides.
I'm just wondering, did you get into the open Beta?
If so.. Are you already working on a Death Knight and possibly a 70+ guide for levelling?
Spill the beans!
Thanks.

Sadly I didn't get a beta

Sadly I didn't get a beta invite.

Hey Jame, Your guide rocks!!

Hey Jame,
Your guide rocks!! But I was just wandering would it be possible to use this guide in a group of 3?

Jame's picture

Yes it's possible, you will

Yes it's possible, you will fall behind the guidd in levels a little if you play without rested bonus, but that can be easily fixed by running a few instances, which I definitely recommend if you play with two other people already, that's almost a full group Sticking out tongue

Winterspring New Guide 50-60

Hi James,

First of all, you rock! I would not love this game as much as I do if it wasn't for you. I do have a question though... At lvl 56 in Starfall Village in Winterspring, you receive the quest.. Trouble Spirits of Kel'Theril. You collect all 4 of the Relic Fragments, then in your guide just below lvl 57 - you say to put them in the bank (all 4) that we won't need them for a while. I can't find in the rest of your guide when we are suppose to get them from the bank, and where to turn them in? Please help.. Again, thank you for all your hard work!! Your guide is the BEST!!

Jame's picture

Ah, that's because I haven't

Ah, that's because I haven't been able to finish the revamped guide. It's supposed to be in those optional circuits I will add soon.

In the meantime, you can follow the old version of my guide, the plaguelands circuits are still 90% accurate, including the turn in of that quest (in the northern part of eastern plaguelands).

Confused.

Hey. Ive used your 30-40 leveling guide and i had just started chapter two when i stopped playing wow for about a month or two. When i returned i wanted to continue using your guides, so i wanted to pick up where i left off. But when i got on the guide had completely changed :S. I eventually got on track again, but when i got to level 41 part of the guide, i noticed that it goes to badlands, and im sure i have already did that in the guide before, and i looked ahead in the guide and i saw you also go back to stranglethorn vale and all the quests you talk about in badlands and stranglethorn vale i have done in your last guide Sad. i know this is because the guide has changed but could you please tell me where i could start because the guide was really good and i wanna use it Smiling
Thanks.

SM in the 30 - 40 guide

first of all james great guide. finished it twice doing it on the 3rd time now as a hunter. i noticed you revamped your guide a fair bit and it is fantastic great lvling got from 34-40 in one night XD. i notice you said that instances are no longer forced and all that jazz. i see the you mention uldaman and ZF but not SM yet you make us pick up a quest for there so when do recommend us to finish off the sm quests?.

other than that great guide. i was thinking slot the recommendation for sm when you finish 30 - 40 alliance chapter. just thought i would let you know that is all.

Awesome

heya Jame would like to drop in to say that this guide is well written and helped my fury warrior level to 60 in 4 days 12 hrs /played (dinged about 10 minutes ago ^^)!

Anyway, i have a small problem.. I started your guide at level 32 (although began from the level 30 section) and it never really caught up with me.. i dinged 60 off of the quest that 'should make you hit level 58'! Should I skip right to the start of the 60-65 section? or is it still more viable to stay in azeroth 'till the end and be 1 or 2 levels ahead all through the outlands guides too?

thanks again for the awesome guide

Imo it's more viable to finish the old world quests, at least up to the plaguelands circuits are done. Going to Outland being nearly 61 makes it much easier.

erally wanna use guide but...

Heya Jame,
im a level 39 horde warlock and i wanna use your guide,i was thinking about starting it at 40 since thats prety close right now, however i have a tendancy to complete q's way above my level, can i still start using your guide effectively?
i have thought about going back in your guide so that the amount of q's i have done in 40-50 are few, however i dont know which part to start and i worrie ill be behind by alot.

please help me out,i love your guide and cant wait to try it again after the massive update ^^

thanks

where to start

hey i have a 66 druid and i just went into Nagrand and picked up all the quests there, i've done the ones in hellfire, and tek forest, so i've moved on to Nagrand, what should i do to follow your guide? thanks man, i started a hunter with this yesterday and already im at 18 thanks man Smiling

Jame's picture

Just follow the first

Just follow the first circuit in Nagrand (starts somewhere in the last chapter). If for some reason you can't access a few quests because you don't have the pre-reqs (there shouldn't be many), just ignore it and keep following the guide. You'll catch up eventually and those missing quests won't matter at all.

Rogue Lv53 where to start?

i have a rogue lv 53 and was wondering where i should start the lving guide at im not too sure on if i should go to 50-60 one?

p.s. your guide rocks and ive used it many times and have told lots of peeps about it to try to get them over here and use it thanks.

Jame's picture

Just jump in the guide at

Just jump in the guide at the beginning of a circuit close to your current level. Try to do the first Un'goro circuits and grab the linken quest line. Besides that, ignore the other quests you can't get. After a while, you'll be back on track, and those quests won't matter anymore.

Race and class

What race and class do you prefer? and profession, that suits this guide best. Execpt hunter!

Quests

Hey Jame,
I love your guides , but im useing your old guide on 50-60 and I am about 3 levels ahead of where I am suppose to be Laughing out loud. I was wondering if I move onto the 60-65 guide without finishing the 50-60 guide completely will I miss out on some quest chains?

Thanks for reading Laughing out loud

Jame's picture

Nope you won't miss any

Nope you won't miss any chains. None of the old world quests connect to Outland.

compared to boosting

If you compare following your xp guide, to say getting boost in SM to 40. (pala way), how you think it is then? My leech is atm lvl 29 and wondering if I should follow the guide or boost myself to atleast around 36 or so.

Hey

Hey Jame!
My computer recently broke (3 months ago!) and just today I ordered a new one. A few days ago i found this website and it really looked like quality work! Im a lvl 27 rogue, so i'll immedietly start using this guide when im lvl 30. My friends are already lvl 50 and above! imagine their surprise when they see me gaining 5 lvls a day!

Many thanks!

Alliance leveling guide part 3 revamp

First of all I wanted to thank you and snowflake for these wonderful guides. Now to my question; the revamp for the alliance 50-60 have it been much delayed or just a couple of days since my hunter is standing and just waiting for the next part so I can see what new fun quests that have been added Laughing out loud

Realy loved this guide and tell all my other guild members about it as soon they ask were to go level I just tell them to go here or use one of the places you tell us to go to at that level. Keep up the good work man!

also im not sure if its just

also im not sure if its just me but you told us to take the continuation of martek the exiled. i reread that part 2 times and it never said to abandon it. then when you give us a list at boty bay of everything we should have martek the exiled is the only one tat isnt presant there. im wondering if i should abandon it. its the one where it tells me to deliver a quest item to martek at badlands.

outrunning guide

well ive been using this guide for nearly 5 lvls and i have been leveling to fast for it. i dont do anything you dont do but because most of your quests are slaying or collecting my drop rates make me kill more and ym rest exp makes me lvl faster then the guide. i am currently lvl 35 and 3/5 of the way to 36 and im still at the end of 34 before even handing in like 8 completed quests. what should i do? im worried to skipp to the lvl 35 or 36 section cause then ill miss on some pre quests.

Warrior Leveling

Warriors are usually tagged as harder to level from forums and the like, am i ok using this guide as a warrior? and if so what would be the best spec. Thanks in advance

Jame's picture

To be honest with you, the

To be honest with you, the first class I ever played was warrior. It's one of the harder classes to level, it's true, mostly because it is very gear dependant. If you get decent armor and most importantly a good weapon, you should be fine. But even without that, warriors can follow this guide just fine.

I personally like to find a big 2-Hander (preferably an axe, because I like to crit a lot! Sticking out tongue) and go for Mortal Strike as soon as possible, then go for the fury tree up until flurry 5/5. You should end up with a talent build kinda like this one:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LAM0dAioz0zZVV0i0xRV

It's purely for solo pve dps.

A way to use the guide :D

Hey Jame!
I love your guides, but i always hated that in order to keep up with it you have to kill everything along the way. I like it much better to go to an instance or two so you level up once and then your set for 2-5 levels without haveing to kill everything Laughing out loud

Thanks for the guides Jame!

Jame's picture

Actually the "kill

Actually the "kill everything on the way" rule has been removed as of patch 2.3. Sticking out tongue

should I skip ahead?

Hi Jame

Let me start off by saying that this guide is insanely fast. Thank you so much for devoting such a large amount of time to it.

But the main issue at hand is, I'm a little ahead of the guide. I just hit 40 and I'm still doing quests for the 38-39 range, do you think I should skip ahead? I'm noticing many of these quests are green, and if this will affect my xp gain later on if I continue from where I am now?

Jame's picture

My advice is to not skip, as

My advice is to not skip, as long as the quests are not grey. Skip instances and optional circuits when there are some.

Paladin Leveling

While following your guide, what spec should a paladin go for leveling? I've heard that both Ret and Prot are good leveling specs, but I'm not sure which on to choose right now. Any suggestions?

Jame's picture

I personally favor

I personally favor retribution now. The tree got so much love in the past months it's definitely great for leveling now.

Prot is also very solid though. It's up to personal preference I guess, I'm no paladin expert anyway, but I just know I leveled my paladin as ret and enjoyed it a lot.

Pete's picture

Prot

Well, I ended up going prot for leveling after some friends convinced me, and it seems to be holding up better than I though it would have. In the Shimmering Flats circuit, I managed to take on about 3-5 mobs at a time, which greatly helped finishing all of the quests.

I might try out ret to see how it fairs as well, but I'm guessing that it all comes down to the circumstances. When fighting a group of mobs all close together, prot is better, but if just fighting single mobs, ret would pull ahead in dps.

great job

Your guides are brilliant
I've used since level 40 and it's got me to 70 without many problems.
But now I understand you can quest for cash in outlands
is there any chance you will be creating a guide for this?

Admin's note: Fixed spelling. Please do an effort with your spelling next time. Use proper capitalization, "I" instead of "i" etc. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's already planned.

Mage?

Which spec should a mage go for in this guide? I'm currently frost, but I can respec if you would recommend it, otherwise I'll keep on frosting it up.

Keep frosting it up is my advice!

Jame's Guides

Your guides are amazing, they help more than anything I could imagine. I used the old ones to level my Warlock, now lvl 70 (4/5 Venge) and now Im using your guides to lvl my rouge who is 55 currently. I just wanted to say thanks a bunch for making these guides, and for keeping them free : P

Hey Jame

I noticed int the 50-60 guide you say that the stolen plans are behind 3 elites. When I did that part of the guide yesterday, there were only two mobs, and they were a 48 and a 50, which were easy to solo for a hunter.

Jame's picture

Yes, it will be changed in

Yes, it will be changed in the revamped version, which I'm currently working on Smiling

Dilema

Dear James, im really in a dilema. Im a level 32 hunter that's really fortunate to come by your spectacular guide. However i seem to be unable to follow your guide properly sicne some quests recommended seems to have prerequisites that are mentioned in the earlier guide which i did not follow. What should i do? =(

Jame's picture

Do not worry about it, just

Do not worry about it, just skip the first Ashenvale circuit. Start at the point where the guide makes you travel to the Thousand Needles. If there's any quests you can't access because you lack prerequisited, just ignore them, you are already ahead of the guide in levels, so it's not a problem if you skip a quest here and there.

Hello just found this

Hello just found this today,

i am lvl 54 prot pala, how am i gonna latch onto the leveling guide?

Should i abandon all of my quests and start in chapter 3 where it says lvl 54?

Ty in advance

Jame's picture

It depends. Have you done

It depends. Have you done the first Un'goro Crater quests? Including the first two steps of the Linken quest line? (the one that starts at the wrecked raft in Ungoro).

If you haven't, start at the first Ungoro circuit in the level 51 section. If you have, then yes, just start at the beginning of a circuit close to level 54.
