Before you sign in for testing, revamping or writing a guide for the AddOn you should read the following two pages: Now that you know what to do, you can take a look at the overview lists for the two factions. It might look a bit confusing on first sight but it's really easy: In the Status column you can see what the current status of every guide is:
Now that you're informed about what needs to be done, you have to look at the Progress column if the guide is already in work. A A Before you start editing a guide you should look if there are some edited files that are not included in the AddOn by default. If the download arrow The little lamp If you found a guide that suits you and no one else is working at, you can either write a comment so that someone can add you to the list, or you can try to add yourself. Please give us an update every week (at least) by changing the Last Updated column and giving some information about your progress in the Progress column so that everyone who wants to know can check how far you are. If we don't hear from you in over a week, and someone else wants to take over revising/writing that section of the guide, it's fair game! This way parts of the guide won't be left unfinished. If you've finished your part add a link to the file you edited in the Progress column and leave a comment!

Alliance Hellfire Peninsula
Just uploaded a revised draft of the Alliance Hellfire guide. As usual, my goal was to run through the whole land without having to check off any objective or open my bags to complete a quest. The changes to the guide were mostly to add item buttons and auto-complete tags to the existing quests.

Heh, I like that goal. I would add to it - without ever having to read the text to know where to go next. I try to make sure there is an arrow for every step except some sell/repair steps, including flight point and innkeeper steps.

Alliance Howling Fjord
I just uploaded the latest version. It includes some small fixes and also adds the waypoints for the Exploration Achievement.

Small fix
The file 002_54_56_Jame_Ungoro_Crater.lua has the name of the zone mis-capitalized in the registration line. This causes TourGuide to use the current zone to set waypoints instead of the Un'Goro Crater zone. The corrected registration line (first line of the file) is
TourGuide:RegisterGuide("[WoW-Pro | Jame's 50-60] Un'Goro Crater (54-56)", "[WoW-Pro | Jame's 50-60] Winterspring (56-56)", "Alliance", function()
The only change is capitalizing "Un'Goro Crater" instead of "Un'goro Crater".

That's Funny!!!
When my wife comes downstairs and I'm playing Warcraft (which is.....Pretty much as much time as I can), she asks me what I'm doing. I always say that I'm working.
If I give you her cell number, would you call her and tell her that I truly am working???? LOL

Hello Im leveling my warlock
Hello
Im leveling my warlock through Outlands and i'm going to test:
1) Jame's Horde Leveling Guide - Terokkar Forest
2) Jame's Horde Leveling Guide - Nagrand
I'm now in the middle of Terokkar quests, until now no errors etc.
PS. I forgot to write down few errors from Zangarmarsh part ( but it was only wrong or not correct coordinations). As for Hellfire Peninsula i havent noticed any errors.
Cheers,
Valexan

So I have completed Terokkar Forest part of the guide, I havent seen any errors. Although some quests should have some descriptions, because newbies could have been a little confused.
As for Nagrand part im in he middle of a guide, so far no errors.

Grizzly Hills
I've uploaded a new file for Alliance - Grizzly Hills. The Explore Achievement is taken care of by doing the normal quests, but I fixed a couple of problems that were pointed out and another couple that I found. I gave it a second star.
James
I was wondering why we do
I was wondering why we do use Manovan's Undead Leveling Guide (1-13), but not his Night Elf Leveling Guide (1-13)with the Tour Guide add-on? I mean Taralom's Night Elf 1-12 guide isn't bad, but I think Manovan's Night Elf guide is a lot better.
Just a thought.

Alliance Death Knight guide
I know the coords don't work right in the starter land, but since QuestHelper is able to put points on the map then TourGuide will eventually get it all together. So I uploaded my draft of the DK guide. It isn't complete, since I generally run off to Outland before hitting the end of the text guide, but it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
Multi-part quest names
I just uploaded a large set of fixes to the Alliance guides (almost every one of them up to level 55). Most of the changes were obvious things, like adding item tags to hearthstone steps etc.
But one thing that surprised me was the number of quests that had " (part 1)" instead of " (Part 1)". TourGuide 3.1.0.51-beta doesn't recognize the string unless it's got a capital "P" for part. It also doesn't recognize other text, such as "follow-up", as a multi-part quest. Was this working in a previous version of TourGuide, or is it just that I'm the only person it irritates?
Anyway, if this isn't something generally useful I can back out those changes and just publish the other revisions.

Snowflake's Draenei Starter (1-12)
Hi, long time fan of this site. Figured I might as well start giving something back since I make good use of these guides. I played through Snowflake's Draenei Starting Guide and made some improvements and corrections where I could. Uploaded the file here: https://sites.google.com/site/yakuko/Home/000_1_12_Snowflakes_Draenei_Starter.lua?attredirects=0
Going to tackle the Bloodmyst one next.
Not a contributor but...
There are a couple typos in the Grizzly Hills guide, in the section dealing with Dun'Argol. One that I noticed in particular was where you're supposed to take stairs to the "southest". I couldn't figure out at first if that was east or west. Turns out it's west.

Snowflake Bloodelf Starter Guide changes
Hey,
I have edited Snowflake's BE starter guide and made the following changes: Changed typos and added short descriptions where necessary: sometimes the coords would mix up in my german client due to zone problems. So a short note where to find an npc or where to go next helps a lot!
Also removed the "optional" from the first opt. quest circuit in snowflake's guide. I did it with a pally and just dinged lvl 10 in time to go to the trainer when the guide sugested to do so. Without the circuit I would still have been lvl 9. Also you get a small bag which is always a good thing in the beginning if you can't afford to buy one.
Apart from that I just added two small notes for explorer achievement that are not covered by simply following the guide. It's Elrendar Falls and the Azurecoast which is hard to find if you don't know about it. I added them when you're near the location anyway so it doesn't interfere with the rest of the guide.
Hope it helps to improve the guide. I've uploaded the new version here.
The guide is very good. I made it to level 12 in about 3 hours and 14 minutes.

Awesome, thanks so much for the update! The achievement notes are a nice touch

I Never Thought of That.....
That's just something that I never considered, but a great idea. When questing in Northrend I've made it a point of making sure I have all of the "zones" in a zone to get the achievement before I head to the next zone. It would be EXTREMELY easy to add that into the guide. I'll keep that in mind as I'm revising.....Nice touch!!!!
James
Thank you. Glad I could
Thank you.
Glad I could help.
As I posted before I only added those zones that were not covered by simply doing all the quests in the guide. Otherwise it would be way too much.
But a few hints here and there don't hurt.
I hope someone else will test the guide again though.
I just tried to load it and clicked through all the steps once. It seemed to work okay but you never know.
I haven't decided which guide to use next but will have a look at the other guides next week when I start the next session of speed leveling.
I'm blogging about it like Holyjame and Mokrana but it's in german.
So I don't know if any of you understand it. Got some pictures in there as well so maybe you want to check it out anyway.

Don't know if someone I know is gonna read it though. Most of them don't play at all.
Anyway, I guess I'll try SilverKnights Silverpine Guide next. I'm 13 already (pally quest) but I guess that won't hurt.
Horde guides
How are the horde guides? Need any help testing them?
Moderator
Any of the guides not marked
Any of the guides not marked "Quality" are in need of testing/revising, and even those marked "Quality" can always use more testing. If there is someone signed up for one, though, you should wait and test a different one so we aren't having editing collisions.

Just leveled through
Just leveled through Zerinj's and Snowflakes guides (1-12 Durotar & 13-21 Ghostlands) and asides from 1 or 2 very miinor spelling errors, they are both complete I think. I can fix the typo's myself and re-upload it or make a note of them and pass them on if you'd rather?
Let me know

Horde Borean Tundra
Just finished updating the Borean Tundra section.
Unfortunately I got a little lazy towards the end and didn't add a few coordinates that probably should have been added. The guide works fine as is, the descriptions are plenty to find the necessary quest mobs/flight points, but it really should have those coords. So, I can't in good faith give this a star, it's not perfect yet (even though it's my own fault). But, then next person to edit it should have very little to do.
The file can be downloaded here.

Jame's Horde Leveling Guide (21-31)
As discussed with Jiyambi, I am taking on Jame's Horde Leveling Guide (21-31) for testing. I have done and will be doing revisions as I go along, as I see fit.
On another note: Is it possible that not many people are still working on the guides? It seems as if quite a number of helpers have disappeared
I loved to see several posts here every day, and now it's only ever my own posts I get to read here
Come on guys, give us a hand here!

*Pop*
That loud pop you heard was me pulling my head out of my ass.
I've been taking my mage through Borean Tundra over the last couple of days. I was around halfway through before I realized that I was using on old copy of the file. It won't be receiving a second star on this pass. Fear not, I still have a warrior and a paladin to go through the zone so hopefully it will be in good shape by the time Jame gets there.

Well, let's see who wins the battle of getting all guides to Quality*** first
And I'm back to regular working days now, after having sat injured at home for a month. But I still hope to be able to contribute, though not as quickly as I was lately.

Haha, an epic battle indeed.
Haha, an epic battle indeed. Also, glad you are no longer injured but sad that it might mean a little less activity from you. Oh well, gotta pay the bills!

Hah, I've noticed this too.
Hah, I've noticed this too. I do know that, at least on the Horde side, some of the later guides (60+) need little to no revisions, they are really high quality. But the 30-40 section needs a lot of work.
I myself have been less active with this of late, due to RL and other WoW commitments, but once summer rolls around I should be back to my old activeness.
