Editing Guidelines: This article is a stub, you can help by expanding it.

This is a list of guides that are still needed by the WoW-Pro community. Before you start a new guide or wiki page, please always check this list and choose your topic from it. This is to prevent people from starting several guides about the same subject. If you absolutely want to write a guide about a topic which is already covered, your guide should at least contain major improvements/differences compared to the already existing guide. If you decide to write a guide about a topic here, please read Jame's Guide Writing Guide first. Then leave a comment here informing us of the subject you chose to cover. We will then update the list with your name. Need a guide? Submit a suggestion! How? Leave a comment here! Read Me!
Before you sign in for revamping or writing a guide, you should read Jame's Guide Writing Guide. If you want more detailed and specific tips, check out the other guides in the Guide Writing Category. Now that you know what to do, you can take a look at the needed guide list. It might look a bit confusing on first sight but it's really easy: In the Status column you can see what the current status of every guide is:
Now that you're informed about what needs to be done, you have to look at the Progress column if the guide is already in work. A A If you found a guide that suits you and no one else is working at, you can either write a comment so that someone can add you to the list, or you can try to add yourself. Please give us an update every week (at least) by changing the Last Updated column and giving some information about your progress in the Progress column so that everyone who wants to know can check how far you are. If we don't hear from you in over a week, and someone else wants to take over revising/writing that section of the guide, it's fair game! This way parts of the guide won't be left unfinished. If you've finished a guide you were working on, leave a comment!

I shall work on a pre-raid gear list for DPS DKs, seeing as mine is nearly 80 finally. Also, I'd be able to do Azjol-Nerub for the instance guides.

Long Comment: WoW Lore/History Guide
In the first months after the release of WOTLK people of course begun to think about furture expansions and content. The talking about The Emerald Dream, Nagas of Azhara, Gilneas, Kultiras etc. made me wonder. In fact I didnt know a thing of what they were talking about. These areas seemed very interesting so i decided to take a look on the WoW history and lore. (Ive played since Warcraft III but never read up on any of it. I havent completed Warcraft III either)
Now im almost done reading the information on Wowwiki.com, and the whole section on www.Wow-europe.com.
I dont think im the only one who are having/had a hard time reading through it (If people even know about the information), and thats why im thinking of making a easier readable guide about the different areas, races and the history of the whole warcraft world. Also links to the pages with the original would be included of course!
Last thought would be making it a wiki page, so that people can add their own information.
Im not quite a huge Lore nerds, but not one of those people running around wonder what the world their in is called.
Thats why i want YOUR thoughts about making such a big guide as this, and YOUR help to make this guide become true!
Comment this please!

Hey, I'm kinda the lorewhore, and I think I know pretty much of the story of WarCraft. I would gladly help you in making this guide. Please post a comment when you've worked out the idea a bit more.

Further speculations:
Ive been thinking a little further about what could be some of the content:
A timeline (easy done)
Easy readable, and shorter version of the history of warcraft (From Titans and dragons to the beginning of WotLK). This is probably one main factor in the guide.
Lore about the different races (Even non-playable like murlocks and satyrs)
Notable and VIP's in the history of warcraft
WE could also write
WE could also write something about the stories of the different areas and dungeons of the game. Those places have often very lore-rich elements no-one knows about.

Dungeon lore should probably
Dungeon lore should probably be confined to a paragraph within dungeon guides, with a link to WoWWiki. In my opinion, of course, and if you feel compelled to write more, I'm not about to stop you

Indeed!
The ideal example would be the upcoming Ulduar. Ulduar, Uldum, and Uldaman was the great cities of the titans left behind when the world of Azeroth was created.
Uldaman and Ulduar already being here can lead so many thoughts about Uldum in a further patch/expansion.

This is a reply to all of the above:
Wowwiki exists for a reason; we don't need lore 'guides' or articles. I love WoW lore, but do we need it? And, in my opinion, a wiki page is most un-reliable source of information you can get...

Your so right! Whats the point of those reputation guides? We got wowwiki, Whats the point of those boss strategy guides? We've got bosskillers. What's the point of those proffesion guides? We've got that sticky on the offcial forums. Whats the point of all those leveling, gold making and class guides? We've got piratebay.

Wowwiki
I think your point is right...
BUT: I was having a hard time finding all the right spots to read, and when i found it i thought musch information could be told easier.
Thats why i was thinking of putting the whole info thing together at ONE spot.
Maybe it would be better with a guide with direct links leading to all the different info pages?

Now THAT would be a guide!
Now THAT would be a guide! And something I'd deffo read.

This is exactly what I was
This is exactly what I was thinking. I really love WoWWiki and it's lore articles, but sometimes I have trouble knowing where all the interesting articles *are*. Some broad timeline or overview with links to the WoWWiki in-depth articles would be fantastic, I think.

Ill start it then!
Well, good to see people are likely to read it. Im gonna start it soon then

I do suggest making it a wiki, since this is the type of thing many people would want to contribute their own little part to.
EDIT: I fail, I see now you mentioned that already in your first post!
To Troll's concern about wiki pages: I think that's unfounded in this case. No I wouldn't trust it for serious things like school, but honestly, a wiki is the best solution here. There are several people interested in the project, and a wiki is the best way to collaborate. WoW-Pro administrators and mods still have full control over the page and can rollback content whenever needed, and only registered members (possibly to be changed/already changed to only Trusted members) can edit it.
Basically I think a wiki is the only possible solution in this case.

Okay then. I just always read things like "Wikipedia is unsafe; anyone can edit it!" so... ehm, yeah...
Big difference here is that

how about this guide...
i havent seen any guides for a warlock regarding a destruction spec... also is there a guide for gear little less health more mana 4 a lock?

As we're slashing through
As we're slashing through the list of Reputation Guides currently, I might aswell contribute a little more by writing a guide for the Horde Expedition and the Alliance Vanguard. These two factions are just the counterpart of the other and will consist much of the same things, so I might aswell do both while I'm at it.
Need to be put up as "writing" on these factions,

Something to note...
I would like to make a point here to all guide writers...
Firstly, I have seen a massive influx of guides to this site lately and whilst this is very good and it shows the interest and community is growing stronger by the day, I would just like to make everyone aware that if you are writing a guide about a specific tpoic, make sure it is TOP quality. I do not wish to offend or upset anyone here with this post.
The main topic I'm talking about here is the Gold Making guides. We seem to have had alot submitted over the past month or so. Great! Except the quality of the majority of them has been mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong some good guides have also been submitted and to the authors of those I extend my thanks. Looking through the Gold Making guides on the site though, I have found that the vast majority of them are basically an entire guide saying "Start Mining on a new character and sell Copper" or "Loot greens and disenchant", or maybe even "Do Dailies". Now whilst these may be good tips, they are just tips nontheless and to me don't warrent a guide to be written on it.
Another thing I'd like to point out also is that people post guides that they say are complete and whatnot about this, yet all they contain is the above tips, which to me is comepletely pointless. Especially as if they looked on this page they would see what was being written currently and what is needed.
This completely puts me off for example, and I'm sure it does others too. I mean I personally think now why submit a great guide when there are a ton of guides already here so it will get lost within them, even though the vast majority are mediocre.
I personally thank and commend the efforts of any guide writer here, I would just like to make it clear that a guide which is just one tip isn't a guide at all, and I'd like for people to have a look around and see what needs to be done and what is being done, and then question themselves, Can I really do this? before posting a 5,000 word essay on mining Copper.
Appologies for the rant but I really feel disheartened sometimes. Especially as some of these Copper guides have no use other than clogging up space like the other 20 or so Copper guides and yet they are extremely highly rated. This disillusions people and disheartens other guide writes.
I propose a solution to this. A complete revamp of all guides on the site with the sub-par ones being removed. In there place, would go a compilation of all of the tips and strategies from those guides and we would have a handful of great guides for readers to enjoy, not the mountain of mediocre guides that swamp everywhere and so obscurring those guides of actual good quality. I would personally be glad to undertake the Gold Making portion of this in particular, and any other section also.
/rant off

This has already been done,
This has already been done, to some extent, in the other categories - I know at least in the druid category Jame set some old guides back to draft so the good ones stand out. I agree that the gold guide needs the most attention right now, and what you say is absolutely true (been thinking about it myself lately).
I think someone (you? Trollvink? someone else?) had mentioned doing a guide revamp already, sorry I don't remember who it was. I think this is an excellent idea! Perhaps we need something like:
Just my vision of an ideal set of gold guides.

Of course
The above would be the major guides, with perhaps a few more specialized guides like the one you describe. The major point is that we have a lot of guides that say the same thing and are low quality. Anything of high quality (which I know yours would be!) should be saved.
