Here’s how to enjoy the guides as much as possible, even if you don’t have a 2nd monitor, you can either:

CataclysmLevelingGuides_0.png
You’ll find the list of our Cataclysm Ready leveling guides in readable format. All the guides on wow-pro are FREE, there is no trick, they are just free and will remain free. Enjoy and please contribute!

Tips

Here’s how to enjoy the guides as much as possible, even if you don’t have a 2nd monitor, you can either:

1. Print the guides. There is a “Printer Friendly Version” link at the bottom of every guide, you just have to click on it. However, that might be expansive (and probably expensive), because the guides are big, very big. Another downside is that my guides are updated very frequently, so if you print it you’ll miss the latest updates.

2. Playing WOW in Windowed Mode feels very comfortable while following along with this guide.

  • Keep the guide opened in an internet window
  • Log in to World of Warcraft, press Escape and go to Video Options, tick the following boxes:

Untitled-4.jpg

Click on “Apply“.

Your screen will look exactly as if you were playing wow in full screen mode, besides you will be able to ALT-TAB to the guide INSTANTLY.

This is how I play wow while following my guide, when I don’t feel like booting up my 2nd computer 🙂

3. If you don’t like any of those options, then you should definitely try our in-game addon version of our leveling guides. Simply click the link below:

Thank you :)I just started up WoW again (stopped mid-lich king era) and started on a new character to join some friends.  They’ve been playing for a while, and in about a day I’m at 42 on my shadow priest.  Thanks a bunch 🙂 Also, the Eastern Plaguelands seems to be alliance only? it tells me to go to Chillwind, when I don’t think that’s the greatest idea – so just skip a few steps.

Love the GuidesJust wondering if people could post a review on James Horde Leveling Guide? I found one at (WKJezz- Removed link as it is a shameless Zygor plug) and it was awesome but just looking for a second opinion.. I’m always looking for Horde leveling Guides.

Hmm I don’t think so. IHmm I don’t think so. I hadn’t actually done any quests in the zone at that point.. literally spoke to Thrall then entered Deepholm.. once I got into the zone the first quest it tried to give me was “Into Stonecore”, checked the guide and it was about 100 quests in!

    Dec 30, 2010 @ 2:38 am

Hmmm, I’m thinking you mustHmmm, I’m thinking you must have accidentally skipped a quest rather than manually checked it off. Our guide is set up so that you can skip a step and it will know what other ones to skip after it.My suggestion is to right-click the title bar or guide frame edge, and in the menu that pops up, select “Reset Guide”. Make sure you *right*-click any steps you want to manually complete in the future. This feature has caused a lot of confusion in the past so we may change how it works in a future update.

AzaraelwowThis happened to me twice, the first near the end of arathi highlands and for about 20minutes in blasted lands, my recommendation would be to either just continue w/ blizzards quest helper to the end of that zone, or to try re-installing the addon..

I am not an administrator for this site but both of these methods worked for me…

Trust me, this small hastle is well worth the time you will save by using the guide

Problems with addon.I just installed the latest version of the addon but am having problems which are effectively rendering it unusable for now.So I just entered Deepholm and the first few quest steps were fine. Then I noticed that it has sent me half way across the zone to get the next quest. Checked the list and half the quest steps are now ticked off as completed although I have not done them. Attempted to untick them so I can get back in the right place to continue.. and I can’t. If I go to the end of the ticked quests and untick that one it works but if I try to untick the one before it, it just reticks the one I just unticked. GAH. Then, it puts an overlay with all the quests over the top of my screen and I can’t see or do anything (have to log out, I can only see the logout button because I know where it is)Please help!

I have not yet started on theI have not yet started on the Undead starting zone, but I am currently running alts through the low-level zones, preparing for the guide writing. As I said in my recent blog entry, I will try to have most low-level guides ready by early January. Do not be overly disappointed if they are not published by then, as I will work continuously to get them finished. I am playing cataclysm myself, and as there are a lot of exciting end-game content and season 9 upcoming, I am also busy with these things, not to mention that this week will (surprisingly) be pure hell in school.

Yes, I’d love having someYes, I’d love having some Goblin-fun! I’m actually thinking of making guides for starting zones (1-5) for all classes that do not yet have guides, and then I’ll move on to making regional zone guides for levels 5-11. Example: “Durotar 5-11 leveling guide”, or “Dun Morogh 5-11 leveling guide”.I think I’ll make some sort of post or blog entry later concering my upcoming guides. And yes, it’s great to be back! 🙂

Starting region guides?I see that guides for levels 11 and above are either complete or works in progress, and my contribution to these are therefore most likely not neccessary, but I could make guides for the uncovered starting regions, if there is such a demand. I will most likely ding 85 on thursday or friday, and after that spend the weekend on new content. Next week, however, I can more than likely take my time to go through the starting regions and make guides for them. If this is something that is okay for you (just throwing it out there), please let me know.

Manovan’s Troll GuideJust wanted to mention that the Troll guide is currently being reworked into a full Durotar 1-12 guide with the perspective of a troll character. The guide won’t be closed so you will be able to read it and follow its progression, but it will look like a total mess soon enough.

However, I would like to know if demonco who said he’d code it a long time ago is still up for the job. If not, I will remove him from the list of helpers. In addition to this, I want to mention that I may only be able to work on the guide during weekends, so I can’t give a good date on when it will be done. Hopefully next week but no promises.

Edit: Oh, I noticed there was a 5-12 Durotar guide that is perfectly compatible with the Troll guide already. I suppose there’s really no need for me to do this. I’ll move on to Tirisfal Glades then.

    😛

To all the guide publishersCan I just say, long time guide user, 1st time poster, your guides are awesome! I’ve levelled 3 80’s using your various guides and am currently working on a hunter (74 and just tamed Arcturius :D) and a frost mage (thanks Kwaice)19 and storming through Ghostlands. I’ve recommended your guides to my guildies and I know a few have downloaded the addon version and they say the same, “how the hell is something this good, free?” Enough said I guess. Keep up the good work Jame et al

Summer vacation is aroundSummer vacation is around the corner, I’ll look into it in a week or so. That’s actually a pretty good idea, I’ll check if the guides are up to date. If they’re not, they will be marked as outdated =)

I’ll handle it, although I’ll have to complete my exams first. Guess I’ll run through ALL the guides next week and see if they’re dated or not.

I agree that this isI agree that this is something that should be done more often. But since there are no guide writing policies saying that it’s mandatory to do so, people tend not to think about it. But good post with a good suggestion. I’m sure guide writers will do this for future guides.

    Version informationHi All,

One thing that I think could prove invaluable in the guide information is the version number of WoW the guide was written for. This would be a nice and easy way to check the validity of a particular guide as quite a lot has changed in WoW over the last 5 years. As well as giving users a steer on the validity of a particular guide for them it could also allow moderators to easily check and maybe mark guides as out of date for us.

Possibly this is more important for class guides than levelling guides but can still prove to be very useful and could be added into the guide selection screen of the addon e.g. Jame’s xyz guide (WoW V3.99). A side benefit of this would be keen guide writers could quickly see the most out of date guides and start working on them, keeping all the guides as up to date as possible.

I realise the guides usually (if not always) have a date on them but I think that this is a more valid and sensible way of noting the relevance of the guide than simply providing a date for the users to look at.

    Thanks,
    Gil

Press escape, go toPress escape, go to interface, go to the addon tab, find Tour Guide in the list. You should have an option that resets the box to it’s default position, which is under your mini map. From there you should be able to move it to wherever you want it.

    Hope this helps!

    Jul 17, 2009 @ 16:24 pm

druid/lockwell im gonna assume u mean best leveling spec:

druid: without a doubt feral. balance is fun too but not as efficient as feral(for leveling). its cool for casting; plus at level 40 u get moonkin(which is awesome btw). resto is for healing(mostly for instances).

warlock: affliction. alot of people assume demonology but they are wrong(mostly). blizz made the affliction tree specifically for the LEAST amt. of downtime. this tree makes ur curses hurt more and cost less. most people see the demonology specc as the beast mastery specc for hunters, and it kind of is. but affliction remains as the best choice for leveling.

    hope this helped, gl, cya.
