Guide showing completed quests when resetLately, I have found that when guides reset due to an update, There are quests listed that I have already completed. When I right-click them to manually finish them, they re-appear whenever I reload my toon. I have tried clicking on the checkbox in the actual guide and it seems to make no difference. This happens with quite a number of the guides – I don’t have specific ones right now.

Pilgrim’s Bounty guide resets with loading screensHello.  Wow-Pro is a great addon and site by the way.  I’m having issues with version 2.3.6A.  I’m on the Alliance and using the Pilgrim’s Bounty guide.  Whenever I go through a loading screen, like traveling by boat, etc., the guide resets.

Re: Hello, I downloaded the devWell, it turns out the Goblin and Worgen starting areas are NOT areas affected for the zone remapping for starting areas, since they have their own private starting areas like Death Knights. But I did add more compatability with Carbonite, so things ought to work better.

Lost Isles errorLost Isles would be one of the starting areas where it will have problems.  By starting errors Ludo meant the areas characters start in at lvl 1.

Re: Can’t find AstrolabeHmm, I know where the error is.   I’ll check in a fix to the developer version after dinner once I reproduce it.Version 2.3.6B should have fixed the DongleStub not being found problem, but when DongleStub is there, I was assuming Astrolabe was too.Fun, fun fun!PS: The version at https://github.com/Jiyambi/WoW-Pro-Guides/archive/master.zip should now survive better. Re: Any chance…Do you mean support using WoW-Pro without any arrow or with a different arrow?I’ll get the bugs fixed with no arrow tonight.  It is juts sillyness on my part to have assumed the arrow was there.PS: The version at https://github.com/Jiyambi/WoW-Pro-Guides/archive/master.zip should work without an arrow again. (7PM EDT)

Can’t find AstrolabeRunning version 2.3.6a, which I just downloaded. Same error occurred with version 2.3.4From Bugsack:2x WoWPro-2.3.6AWoWPro_Mapping.lua:9: Cannot find a library with name “Astrolabe-1.0”<in C code>LightHeaded-354Dongle.lua:42: in function “DongleStub”WoWPro-2.3.6AWoWPro_Mapping.lua:9: in main chunk Locals:t = <table> { GetVersion = <func> @LightHeadedDongle.lua:133 IsNewerVersion = <func> @LightHeadedDongle.lua:47 versions = <table> {} log = <table> {} Register = <func> @LightHeadedDongle.lua:75}k = “Astrolabe-1.0”I found that with LightHeaded disabled, I get the error that it can’t find DongleStub.I also found that Fishing Buddy removed reference to Astrolabe because “it doesn’t work” (from the changes file included with FB).

Any chance…Any chance you will support this addon for those of us who do not use TomTom or Carbonite? I switched from Horde to Alliance and haven’t been able to use this addon due to the LUA errors that keep me from being able to load any leveling guides. I really don’t want to abandon my use of this addon, but it appears I will have to.

Hum, still a few problemsHum, still a few problems with the dev version I am afraid. The guide can be loaded but points towards the wrong step of the guide no matter what is checked off. Trying to reset it in Current guide won’t work.Occured with The Lost Isles guide.

    Hello,
I downloaded the devHello,I downloaded the dev version and installed it, it works fine with the latest Carbonite 5.056 provided you select a guide corresponding to the zone you are already in. Otherwise, the guide won’t load which is something you already anticipated if I understood correctly what you meant by ‘zone remaping for the starting areas’.Thx to YOU Ludovicus!

Update for Carbonite usersIt seems some of the API functions in Carbonite fooled WoWPro into thinking that it was a TomTom, but the emulation was not good enough.I loaded up Carbonite and adjusted things.    The compatability will be pretty good, except the zone remaping for the starting areas will not occur, which may not be an issue with Carbonite. Please download the development version of WoWPro and let me know if it fixes things:https://github.com/Jiyambi/WoW-Pro-Guides/archive/master.zipThanks!

I was going to post theI was going to post the errors I got with minimal addons also, but then it occured to me… I should wait for your promised update, since it looks to me like at least some of the errors are from interaction with the modules of wow-pro, so… I’ll hold off.suffice it to say. I still get errors with minimal addons loaded.

Recorder errorsI thought I copied the error… but it seems I didnt… Anyway, using recorder, it appears that it wont work with dailies module? I get an error that said basically attempt to referance end value, and I think the other one was next GID (both of which daily guides don’t have)Also, the recorder is not letting me open/save.  I can delete the whole guide.  I can add but not delete steps.  Lastly, it creates extra duplicate steps when it auto records.  All of those problems don’t really matter since the only way to get out what I recorded is to go to the WTF directory and copy it out of that.  Im off to help my sister make about 20 pies, I’ll try to get actual error messages later.  mmmm Pumpkin pie 🙂  I may even get to eat a piece …nope, not today 🙁

And before you say it… yes, I run with too many addons, Ill try again with none loaded… but… /sigh I can’t play with out them 🙁 (beta was painful)
Error 1 (occured with no guide loaded, when clicking on the open button)</p

RE: RE ?OK, I checked the code and I *did* make the right changes in the Leveling, Dalies and WorldEvents module.I did not make the changes to the Achievements or Profession module, as I though they did not use proper quests, but the Achievements module does need the patch.  I’ll do that now.I specifically re-tested today using the candybuckets guide on my horde DK and reset the guide and it remembered correctly which I had done.

RE ?Yes, you can use the |U| tag in an accept line.  From what I have read you are also supposed to put an |O| tag (optional) so the line won’t show up until the item is in your inventory.  I just came across that tidbit, so I haven’t tried it yet.  (If you are getting the item from a quest, I don’t suppose its necesary tho since you won’t be coming to that step until you have the item.)exceprt from another guide:K Kill Captain Jack|T|Jack Arrow|QID|31261|L|85783|M|32.05, 40.84|N|Loot his head to start a quest.|A Captain Jack’s Dead|QID|31261|U|85783|M|28.07,46.87|N|From Capt. Jack’s Head.|First line puts a Target button beside the wow-pro frame |T| and tells you to loot the item |L|. Second line puts the item beside the wow-pro frame and when you click on it |U|, you accept the quest.I think quest completion is broken in the non-leveling modules.  Blizzard changed the code to query for quest completion (with MOP) and I think Ludo only made the change in the core module, not realizing (until candy bucket time) that that code also needs updated in the other modules (or moved out so its only one place… modularly (is that a word?) You could try registering you guide in the leveling module just to see if it worked to answer that question.  (obviously it doen’t belong there – just to test it.)The autocomplete (in the display options) is not releted to a step auto completing but rather the quest its self auto completing and auto turn in makes it so you just have to click on the NPC, if there is only one quest, it turns in instead of you then having to click on the quest name in the gossip pane. (Disclaimer –This is my understanding of what those options do… I have been wrong before…)and lastly… yes. I hate the captcha’s too. I find that if I set the page size to 400% i sometimes get it on the first try.

RE: World events/ Candy buckets..northrend/cataI have been having the same issue. There seems to be a glitch in the World Events LUA’s somewhere. If I reregister the guides as dailies I get a second or 3 of pause when zoning but don’t get a total game freeze.

I got the addon to see myI got the addon to see my guide. My cptr has 4GB ram running Windows 7 64bit. I do have those tags in the file but now I am having trouble getting the accept steps to autocomplete. The Addon has check boxes for auto accepting and auto turnin of quests but that doesn’t seem to be working for me. I found the Addon AutoTurnin on Curse that works fine but sometimes works faster than the WoW-Pro addon can handle, so I have to manually check off steps. Currently my guide shows me where to go but won’t auto complete.Dumb ?, can you use the |U| tag in an Accept step to use the item from the previous Quest? Or do I need to have a |C| step in the guide to use the U tag with? PS Your Captcha pictures are really hard to read and I have to submit at least 2 or more times before it will post to the board.

RE: Guide Registration.I dont see anything wrong there.  Do you have the next line as : “return [[”  and the final line of the guide as “]] end”One thing you can check is this file, it may give you some clues.<a href="file://...…<your wow directory>logsFrameXML.logIt lists any errors in loading addons.   Hope that helps. This is a good thing you are doing. Cata, needed to be with the others. I guess it is good to have it seperate too for people who only want to do that, but… combined is good too.So, you arent having problems with zone boundries freezing up your cptr? what is your memory installed on your cptr? It is most noticable on the cptr with 2gb, minor annoyance on the one wiht 4 and mine with 8 does fine.

The errors with zone nameThe errors with zone name have been corrected and will be part of the next update.  If you want to get it now it is available here:https://github.com/Emmaleah/WoW-Pro-Guides/blob/master/WoWPro_Leveling/Horde/85_86_Emmaleah_JadeForest.luaThere have been several changes, adding comments, making comments clearer, etc.Note, while currently that link is to the most up=to=date version, it is NOT the main repository, so don’t expect it to always be the correct version.

Guide RegisteringHello and love your addon,I have been using this addon for many years and finally got around to trying to code a guide for myself. Unfortunately the addon won’t register my addon for testing purposes. I am using WoW-Pro 2.3.4 getting no error pop-up box and on Horde side. I am making a guide that covers multiple zones for the world event: ‘Hallow’s End”. I have tried just loading the file into the proper folder and restarting the game and manualy Editing the Guide.xml file. I am also getting a total game freeze when trying to use the Hallow’s End guides for candy buckets, when changing zones. I have tried making the guide for World Events, Dailies and even Leveling by changing the header. The Header I currently have:WoWPro.WorldEvents:RegisterGuide(“FriesHallowALL”,”Hallow’s End (ALL)”,”Hallow’s End (ALL)”,”WE”, “Fries”, “Horde”, function()

Of course, hadnt thought of thatGo figure a great idea from Blizz wouldnt work out as they thought it would, or affect things in such a way. yA’ I NOTICED THE ZONE PAUSES dropping my FPS down to single digits from 40-60 fps. Rest of the time its just freezes completely if i ahve wow-pro open, I can run all addons without locking up, but if wowpro is open it causes WoW to stop responding. Wonder why it reacts that way? I also run carbonite, but only run the main carbonite folder, not all the others. Probably will just use Carbonite Maps once it is released. Alliance, Mannaroth

troubleshooting ?If you have the box that says no guides loaded, then you are almost there. What remaiins is to right click on that box and choose ‘guide list’then pick the category of the guide you want (achievements, leveling,  professions, world events, dailies – tabs will only show for modules you enabled on the char select screen. )Then pick the desired guide off of that list. The person working on the porfessions module is having challenges, so I beleive it is still broken, but all the rest should be fine.

wowpro addonI downloaded the addon, followed all the steps and logged onto wow. I get a box that tells me that there areno guides loaded. I follow the steps required and still can not get the guide to work.  From what I can see all of the requisite files are in the WOW folder, and I can think of nothing else I can do can you please help, this is very frustrating

Same issue here, but it’sSame issue here, but it’s happening to me no matter if I have WoWPro loaded or not. As f03809 said, I too believe that this is caused by WoW itself and related to the cross realm zones. The fact that you (and me as well) never encountered the issue in Pandaria only speaks for this fact, since Pandaria does not have this feature enabled because Blizzard wants to test it on low-level zones first before using it on the highly-populated end-content zones.Blizzard admits that several things with the CRZ are not working as intended, so maybe we can look forward to a fix for this issue as well 😉

Experiencing Same IssueI am experiencing the same issue.  From reading other forums, I believe
it has to do with the Cross Realm zones.    Whenever I fly into new, low
populated zones and land, WOW freezes 20 to 30 seconds.  If i disable
all addons except Wow-Pro, it freezes everytime i switch zones.  If i
enable all my addons EXCEPT Wow-Pro, this freeze only lasts for about 1
to 2 seconds.  Reading through the blizzard forums has lead me to
believe it has to do with the Cross-Realm Zones that was added in MOP.
I hope that helps with your troubleshooting.EDIT:  I have Wow-Pro Version 2.3.4 installed and currently using the Hallows End Kalimdor Guide.

World events/ Candy buckets..northrend/cataI haven’t tested all the different modules, but I’m getting a complete game freeze if i have wow-pro open when doing the northrend or cata candy buckets modules. If i click and disable the addon i can transistion from zone to zone without a complete game freeze. With the addon open no error just stops responding adn i ahve to cnt alt delete and use task manager to shut WoW down. When i reopen the addon it has lost it’s place and goes back to it’s default no module selected state. I’m running Win7 64bit, all updates and using the current version of Tomtom and Wowpro. I’ve tested the issue with all my addons and with only wowpro and tomtom. Only time i get the complete freeze is if wow pro is open with the Northrend or Cata candybuckets module. I’ve made it to lvl 87 witht eh pandaria modules and dont recall getting the same issues at all. Thanks for working so hard on my I gotta have addon on to play. I’ve tried the recorder, havent gotten used to it so far. Hope i can contribute “someday”

Zone NamesThere seems to be an error with the zone “Kun-Lai Summit”. With the dash (-) in the guide the error says “Zone Kun not found using map ID 809. I have looked for a list of zone names that would be compatable with this addon but cannot find one. Can you use zone ID’s to specify the zones? I was using the addon version 2.3.3 and will report on 2.3.4.

Re: Temp fix for Dragonblight waypointsDang it!   Yeah, Dragonblight is a duplicate map name in both the continent and the DS instance.I’ll have to put logic in my map extractor to handle this case. Grumble, why does Blizzard do this!!?!?!

Temp fix for Dragonblight waypointsIt looks like the zone mapping info for Dragonblight is wrong. It says it is an area within the DS dungeon.Btw, I’ve never been thru Cata yet so I don’t know if there is also a Dragonblight in there, but I imagine there is not b/c Blizzard should know better than to duplicate a name like that, knowing how they are used for unique mappings. I only mention this caveat since if it *is* a legit part of DS as well, the following change will make the DS part not work instead of the real Dragonblight zone. But since you are leveling in LK content, I imagine that is a good trade anyway.Edit WoWPro_Zones.lua as follows.Change the lines at or around line 1832 from this:  [“Dragonblight”] = {   [“dungeon”] = “DragonSoul”,   [“mapID”] = 824,   [“floor”] = 1,   [“mapName”] = “Dragonblight”,  },to this:  [“Dragonblight”] = {   [“numFloors”] = 0,   [“mapID”] = 488,   [“cont”] = 4,   [“zone”] = “Dragonblight”,   [“mapName”] = “Dragonblight”,   [“zonei”] = 4,  },I had the same issue you had, and now it works fine. I’m sure this can get patched in the official version sometime.

Way point arrow and way points on map won’t show.I’m questing in Dragonblight atm and it just recently started doing this, there’s no way point arrow nor way points on my map, I don’t know if this is just the Dragonblight area or what. My tomtom and WoW-Pro are both up to date.

Those sound like errorsI suspect those type of errors come from syncing two versions (by two authors/editors) Plase let us know the specific quest, zone and faction and we will get them fixed.

Pandarean guides in generalNew member trying to figure out an issue.  Firstly: love the addon and guides – nothing better.  Secondly: I completely understand that new content guides will be buggy early on.  Finally the problem:  frequently throughout the leveling process in Pandaria, I have been directed back to a previous area or quest giver and directed to pickup a quest I either just completed or completed some time ago.  this is not a result of a log out or manual click through guilde directives, unless of course it specificly said to of course.  Are there some how redundant entries or am I experienceing a known bug or conflict with another addon?Once again, fine work gang, and thanks for any assistance here!

It’s a general addon bug I’mIt’s a general addon bug I’m sure they’re aware of. They don’t need to know what computer you’re on as the addon is not coded any different for either OS. It’s coded to work with WoW regardless. The LUA error will pop up occasionally but it shouldn’t effect the guide from working. Just try your best to ignore for now.
