I was actually thinkingI was actually thinking about the amount of exp you get – lower lvl quests and mobs give less exp then regular. I dont know though whether the amount of exp for regular quests compensates for the time spent. If my ultimate goal is to level as fast as possible, and I don’t care for gold that quests might give at 80, should I skip a zone or not?

Jame has often set some ofJame has often set some of his leveling in zones that are a little lower level than player’s current level. First of all, the quests are easier and you will complete them more quickly. Secondly, the more of the low level quests you do, the more high level quests will be available at level 80 to get some gold.

However if you like more of a challenge or don’t care about the end game gold, go ahead and skip to the next zone.

Keep in mind that the guides were written before heirlooms were available and before the dungeon finder made it easy to gear up, so the general difficulty level is a lot lower now than it once was.

quests are low levelI cant help noticing that leveling takes place in zones lower level than your toon. For example, lvl 72-74 guide is in Howling Fjord which is 68-72. Is there a reason for this?

Fastest leveling everJust leveled a Pally to 80 in 7 days 0 hours and 58 minutes using James’ add-on guide. I did have some help from bind on account items for 20% extra XP. But still… WOW!!! You a fool not to use the guide

One recommendation – WhenOne recommendation – When you go to a new zone with your hunter, you can very easily jump into the next guide, if you want to.

Heirlooms can certainly be used with our guides! You may find yourself getting ahead of the guide. If you start doing gray quests, just skip ahead to a later zone. The guide is just that – a *GUIDE* not a rule, as many people seem to think. Feel free to skip parts! Watch out for quest chains, though, especially in the last part of the 50-60 section. Hopefully we’ll have some awesome features in our new addon that will make it easier to skip around!

For your tank… I’m assuming you meant which race should you be, not which class, since you seem to want to be a warrior! Well, if you were Horde side I’d recommend Tauren for the health buff. But honestly, I *never* pick a race based on the racial features – only based on the flavor. If you are going Alliance side, I am quite partial to dwarf warriors myself ๐Ÿ˜‰ but pick whatever seems most fun to you!

I am on AllianceI just decided that I would simply finish leveling my hunter the hard way, but when i can get heirlooms ill make a warrior and follow your guide to 80. I definitly want an 80 warrior for cataclysm… seeing as worgen warrior is going to be a crazy tank! By the way, is using heirlooms with your guides ok? And what class should I be for a tank? I will obviously be switching to worgen anyway but i would prefer best tanking until then. Thanks Jame!

Alliance or Horde? I wouldAlliance or Horde? I would recommend just skipping the quests you’ve already done, and queuing up in the dungeon finder to help you catch up if this causes you to fall behind.

I made another post on thisI made another post on this already in a different forums, but it can’t hurt to have it as many places as possible. I contacted Blizzard and they immediately asked if I had used curse client. I did. Apparently, they are getting a lot of calls about curse client and wowmatrix. They suggested I install add-ons manually and get rid of curse client.

They also mentioned that they are prevented from ‘posting’ this, but encourage spreading the word.

Thanks, it’s lovely.. but just one suggestion.Great guide, keep up the good work.
But if possible, could you add a check in the addon to see if you actually _have_ the quest.

Before you find yourself trying to do the ! part on some distant location but don’t have the ? part (anymore).

(even tho i was trying to follow the guide i still managed to get my quest log full and apparently abandoned the wrong one. 2 guides later i was doing a quest .. but ..didn’t have the actual quest in log. Good thing i noticed in time the drop rate more than sucked while doing something and found it out in time. but it still was some unneeded traveling to fix it again.)

I just want to say thank you.I’ve leveled my first character to 80 in just over 10 days /played time using Jame’s Horde Leveling Guide. This includes activities such as battlegrounds, profession training, and playing the auction house. If I just straight used the guide and did nothing else I’m sure I would have reached 80 in 8 or less days. This is amazing considering the claims that the pay guides make.

So I just want to thank everyone who’s helped to create the guides on this site. These guides are invaluable and, in my opinion, a ‘must have’ for WoW players. THANK YOU!!!

Guide for Daily QuestI dont know if this exist already, if it does I couldnt find one, but it would be nice to have a guide with the location of all daily quest broken down by Alliance, Horde, Faction, Neutral, etc. I know there can be variable quest for things like Fishing and Cooking but just having the location for those quest givers would be great. If it were a stand alone addon that would be even better!

Horde version.

Also on theHorde version.

Also on the horde version, while I was doing the Feralas guide I noticed a quest had changed (not sure what patch). The quest “A Strange Request” apparently requires you to take the shrunken head to a guy in Feralas now.

“Witch Doctor Uzer’i in Feras”
Take the Shrunken Head to Xerash Fireblade at the Lariss pavillion in Feralas”

According to Wowhead this quest was changed in 3.2

You may wish to change it for the guide as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is the wowhead link for the quest: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=3121

I am having the same problemI am having the same problem with the quest “Stranglethorn fevor”. This is happening on the horde version of “Stranglethorn Vale”

I did the quest and the crossed swords part did not go away, so i tried checking it off, and it just stays checked on that quest. Looks like I’m going to have to use the website for this particular part of the guide.

Thanks,
Fleek

Side note: I disabled the addon and then re-enabled it as I was writting this and that seemed to fix the problem. Even so I figured I should still post this and let you know about the error.

Bug or not Bug that is the questionHi,
First up awesome guides, this my second time using them first on the addon.
I have noticed that on alot of the quests when the addon updates to say that you have aquired the quest it is automatically checking the do quest now symbol (cross swords) and the turn in quest indicator as well.

This has been happening on the STV and Hillsbrand / Arathi highlands section of the guide (32 – 34) I think.

I am not doing the quests in strict order, so didnt know if this matters or not. But didnt want to raise loads of bugs if it this.

If you’re talking about theIf you’re talking about the addon being updated, you can find that information here. In terms of the guide content, little fixes will be made as they are found, but the “paper” guides will probably wait until Jame has time to fix them.

I believe the addon *should* work with Carbonite, just make sure Carbonite’s waypoint arrow is disabled – otherwise they might conflict. I don’t use Carbonite so I’m not sure exactly how to do this, but perhaps someone who is familiar with it can help.

JamieHello Jamie & Friends,

After playing WOW for quite some time I finally registred myself at WOW-Pro.
Hello to Everyone.

Jamie, if I may say this….
I hope you are doing fine now in RL.
I think that others may feel the same way…that you might handle the situation at your home.
I wish you the best of all luck.

To your friends, taking care of your guides and addon….
Yeah…those guides…..I used it and I like it.
Being at the start of Zuldrak and becoming Level 78.
So..it is fun.

About your addon!
I have a question!
Can this addon of yours work together with Carbonite?
I am a hugh fan of it.
But don’t take the risk to use your addon before I know there will be no trouble to suspect.

And for the rest….I hope you can keep up this great jobs of yours.

With Kind Regards,

Daroyski.
(I hope you can forgive my terrible English Grammar)

Hmmm, that just soundsHmmm, that just sounds weird. I have no idea why it would have been working fine and then vanish. It just really sounds like you might have been using the default tour guide guides – they were previously listed at the top of the guide list, above our guides, but are now located at the bottom. Try scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the list where the default guides are.

I am sorry about this, but I do know for a fact that we have no leveling guides from Jame for those zones. As far as I know, our addon has only one guide past Grizzly Hills, and that is for Icecrown and is only on the Alliance side. I’m really sorry that this isn’t working out for you, but I have never seen those guides so I have no idea how to recover them for you.

It’s possible that a user on this site did write optional guides for those zones and uploaded them as a separate file, but it definitely wasn’t part of the main download package from this site.

Can anyone else shine some light on this issue? I really wish I could help but I’m just not sure what guides you were originally using, and I definitely don’t know why they aren’t working now ๐Ÿ™

Oh my…. ๐Ÿ˜• The thing is… it was working fine up until a couple nights ago. I used this same add on guide for my now level 80 hunter, level 80 priest, 80 druid. It was working one moment, and then my UI freaked out. I ended up having to “reload” my ui, and that’s when it appeared that Sholazar, Storm Peaks and Icecrown disappeared. Yes, I have used the “wow-pro” guides all the way up to IC on all toons. It wasn’t until IC did I have to use “a different” type of guide.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled yalls tour guide now 5x … and it hasn’t changed. The alliance one is perfect, it has guides up to IC. (optional ones too)
I understand that directly you guys don’t have an actual SB guide, however … there WAS optional guides that DID DL with the tour guide before. How could it just…up and disappear? :O I KNOW I USED a guide through yalls site FOR SB for my horde toonS. Its what I used to get to the quests for the oracles there! I never got those quests UNTIL I got yalls guide add on?

I am assuming you are usingI am assuming you are using the default Tour Guide guides instead of our guides.

The Horde tour guide guides go up to Grizzly Hills on the newest version.

Make sure the guides you are using say “WoWPro” in the title – if they aren’t, they aren’t ours. Try downloading the new version as well.

Regardless, there are no guides currently available from WoWPro for Sholazar.

Oh my …. I went to try and load up this leveling guide on my 80 hunter, to do the Sholazar Basin quest line. When I try to find said guide on my list, it doesn’t go above Howling Fjord/Borean Tundra for levels 70-72. Even the “optional” guides do not go over to Sholazar…. ๐Ÿ™

My alliance guides? Not a problem…. any info to help me on this problem is greatly appreciated.

AHA! Thank you so much forAHA! Thank you so much for the screenshot, you have confirmed something I have been theorizing for quite a while now.

You see, some people have had this problem with the Howling Fjord guide and others, like me, have not.

The problem is with Tour Guide’s default guide, NOT our WoW-Pro guide. I’m sorry to say it, but you’ve been using the wrong guides all along.

Check your addon screen and make sure WoW-Pro’s guides are enabled. WoW-Pro’s guides ALL say “WoW-Pro” and the author’s name (in this case Jame) in their titles, NEVER just the zone name. The current guides are “out of date” so you need to enable out of date addons for them to work.

Hope this helps, and again thanks so much for the screenshot, the mystery is now solved!
