by JahwoThis wiki page will help us track who has volunteered to help translate sections of Jame’s Leveling Guides into TourGuide Format, so that we can finally publish an addon that will enable people following Jame’s Guide to do so without alt-tabbing.
Before you sign in for testing, revamping or writing a guide for the AddOn you should read the following two pages:
Now that you know what to do, you can take a look at the overview lists for the two factions. It might look a bit confusing on first sight but it’s really easy:
In the Status column you can see what the current status of every guide is:
| N/A | The guide has not been written yet (not available) |
| Testing | The guide has been written but not been tested by anyone but the author. |
| Improvements | The guide has been written and tested, but it needs improvements. Numbers behind the status will forward you to posts with information on the needed improvements. |
| Quality | The guide has been tested, revamped and has a very good quality. The stars indicate how well the guide has been tested. A quality guide with one star has only been tested by one person so there might still be some flaws. |
Now that you’re informed about what needs to be done, you have to look at the Progress column if the guide is already in work.
A 
indicates that there is no one working on this guide at the moment, so feel free to do it!
A 
tells you that there is someone working on that guide, if you click on the icon you will be redirected to the editors user-page.
Before you start editing a guide you should look if there are some edited files that are not included in the AddOn by default.
If the download arrow 
is green it means that there are files to download. Just click the arrow to download them. Put those files into the folder of the according Guide Package AddOn.
The little lamp 
will redirect you to a section on the “Mistakes” page. There you can see a list of known mistakes in the guide. You should take a look at this list even if the guide is not marked for Improvements!
If you found a guide that suits you and no one else is working at, you can either write a comment so that someone can add you to the list, or you can try to add yourself.
Please give us an update every week (at least) by changing the Last Updated column and giving some information about your progress in the Progress column so that everyone who wants to know can check how far you are. If we don’t hear from you in over a week, and someone else wants to take over revising/writing that section of the guide, it’s fair game! This way parts of the guide won’t be left unfinished.
If you’ve finished your part add a link to the file you edited in the Progress column and leave a comment!
Maw’s Human Guide (1-12)
31-41 needs improvements !I was playing from 34-37 on my mage some days ago, and there were TONS of mistakes.
Wrong coords, no coords, missing text, no text at all, wrong quests etc etc. I had to look at the guide on the site to be able to quest right… Hope someone will fix it, cause it’s really needed.

Jame’s Horde Leveling Guide – Borean Tundra (71-73)I found your addon yesterday morning after using the website version for several characters, and unfortunately for the community i didnt see this function right here until afterwards. If i knew i would have written down things i noticed (i will in the future though)
I ran through the entire Borean Tundra guide and have not found any errors with moblocations or anything like that.
Only thing i noticed was that the guide sent me ahead a step at Amber Ledge.
I did the “Prison Break” quest and was then sent straight to step 4 “Borean Inquisition” without first having done “Abduction”.
This might have been me clicking tourguide saying id done it but i dont think so… its unfortunately hard for me to recreate the event since my only other alt is 66 atm 😀
I would say your guide is AT LEAST 99,x% perfect.
I’ll start on the Dragonblight guide and get back with information on that, since i now know i have somewhere to post it

Hmm, I’m having trouble withHmm, I’m having trouble with the quest “Noboru the Cudgel” in the first Swamp of Sorrows Horde guide. I set the item with a |U| use tag, but it actually equips the (exceptionally crappy) weapon first, and then on the second click actually uses it. Which is weird, because clicking it normally in your inventory just activates the quest. I was wondering around beating on crocolisks with it for a long time, wondering why my mace skill was increasing and why it was taking so dang long to kill stuff.

That’s what I do. WheneverThat’s what I do. Whenever Lightheaded gives funky coords, I remove the QID and input the coords manually in an |N| tag.
It’s fine. The Durotar guideIt’s fine. The Durotar guide didn’t include them either, but it’s relatively easy to find where they best fit and insert them while revising the addon guide.

Shinke’s Tauren GuideviHi, I’ve started to work on the addonversion for this guide. It’s the Tauren Starter Guide from 1-12 for Mulgore and doesn’t even appear in the list.
Sadly the |C|… Thing didn’t work for me so I had to take care of the class quests via notes… But as the class quests aren’t event mentioned in the original guide i think it’s an improvement. So far I have only covered the first 5 levels, since i don’t know if anyone else is working on it. Please answer me so I know if I can go on.
Alright, I’m going toAlright, I’m going to strangle whoever removed (or never put in?) Hosho’s guide from the Guide file. I banged my head against the wall for an hour trying to figure out what I did to break it 😛 Turned out it just wasn’t referenced in that file. Grrr!
Anyway, the good news is that it works now! Yay! But it needs to be added to the guide file for the next release. And it still hasn’t been tested – I’m planning to do that sometime in the next two weeks. This next week is another death week for me though, so I won’t be around much.
Something I did to Hosho’sSomething I did to Hosho’s Barrens guide broke it 🙁 It no longer shows up in the guide list.
If someone could take a look at it and help me fix it, I would be extremely appreciative. I feel like the improvements I made on it are good, I just can’t figure out what broke it! Dustwallow Marsh lvl 39-40 UpdateThere were only a few things I added/corrected in this one. Note that for the “Stinky” coordinates, they are all funky because of how Lightheaded sees him as being many different places. Also the quest was bugged for me. Additionally, Lightheaded can’t seem to find the coordinates for the first few quests from the inn. Not sure how to fix these things, other than perhaps not entering the quest ID and manually entering coordinates. So I do not give this my stamp of quality, it needs some fiddling.

I made a quick fix to theI made a quick fix to the Durotar guide, hopefully fixing a problem with the class quests. I was a noob coder and forgot to add (Part 1) etc. to the multiple stage quests of the same name, such as Call of Earth. Hopefully it’s happy now.

Also, I like Shinke’s idea. Three stars or more = green checkmark. Anything tested and approved by Jame should automatically get three stars, just as you have been doing. At least that’s my opinion of how it should be! }:)

Yeah the linking is a bit ofYeah the linking is a bit of a problem.. I thought that we upload .zip files that contains only the changed files of the according guide. This way every volunteer can get the edited files and add his own to the archive.
After Jame made an update with all the files from here the downloads will be reset.

It would be really cool if it showed the person's name on mouseover, but that would be complicated and almost certainly not worth it.
It's a little frustrating that I'm mostly working on these in little sections, so it's not easy to link files with this format.
In other news: Revised the Barrens guide, not by live testing though - I just went through the code. I plan to test it out in game soon, but others are also welcome to do so. I revamped the overview listI revamped the overview list so that every information can be seen in one list. For now it’s only the alliance list and it’s not explained at the top so please do not get confused. 🙂

Snowflake’s Blood Elf StarterI wanted to leave some feedback on this guide for whoever coded and anyone who is doing a more thorough testing. As a note this was my first time through the guide and I did not take very extensive notes but will present a few thoughts for you.
-Kill quests – The quests Aggression, Major Malfunction, and Pelt Collection do not have an accompanied note to watch for the associated mobs while doing the next set of quests.
-Optional quests do not appear optional, I dinged 12 when I turned in The Party Never Ends on my way to the Withered Keepers quests.
-The sequence of taking Cleaning up the Grounds, training in Silvermoon, then completing the quests seems strange. Perhaps moving that section until after completion of Word from the Spire and Abandoned Investigations.
I’m not sure if there’s a better place to give my feedback so I apologize if this is not the appropriate format. I hope this is helpful!

Desolace (37-38)Just finished running through Desolace on my pally and made quite a few corrections to the guide. I think it’s pretty good now, so I give it my “stamp of quality”, but I definitely would recommend at least one more person going through it. I had one step auto-complete weirdly, but can find nothing wrong with the code and when I un-checked it, it then completed as it should when I finished the quest. It was the Sceptre of Light quest, so if you test it please watch out for that.
Anyway I uploaded and linked the “finished” file, for Jame to include in the next update or if anyone wants to test it before then 🙂
Alliance Grizzly HillsDoing the quest [b][color=#cc9933]Out of Body Experience[/color][/b] causes you to zone into Silverpine Forest. Once you are brought back to Grizzly Hills, the guide skips back to have you pick up all the quests you currently have in your quest log.
Howling Fjord – GuideHi,
since this is my first post here, I want to use the oppurtunity to thank you all, and especially Jame for the great Guides, which helped me a great deal while leveling my alts.
Just now I am leveling a Shaman and got just through the Howling Fjord section of the addon. Thought I could just write down some problems as I see them and here’s my list 😉 :
Firstly I had some problems finding Scoodles from the quest “Scoodles” a note about him bein right below the surface would have been helpful, since his circuit is quite big and I wasted some minutes looking for him at the bottom of the sea.
Next was at “The Jig is up” : A note about the mob being in the cavern would be helpful, however I profited out of this since I got to kill King Pig, who was just above the mob ;).
The third point is about “March of the Giants”: I died thrice because I did not know about them being kiteable and was about to ignore this quest because of frustration till I decided to look up the quest in the written guide.
Furthermore at the Quest “Fallen Sisters” you can convert them without hitting them down on 30 % if you don’t aggro them. This is not in the written Guide either.
At the quest “Demolishing Megalith” I want to add that Megalith is kiteable too, therefore the giant as a pet is not neccesary for ranged fighters.
In addition to that there is a small spelling mistake in “Of Key and Cage”, which causes the taking of the quest not to be recognized ( not 100% shure if it was at the getting of the quest or at the handing in ).
Last at the quest “Leader of the deranged a somewaht mor detailed explanation of where to jump of the cliff would be nice. I did jum off the cliff into the water and had to recognize that I only would have to jump down one floor.
Hope you can work some of theese suggestions into the guide to make a great guide even better 😉

Arathi Highlands 35-37I was playing through the guide on my Pally and came across some errors. EDIT: One thing. I made a change to the wording in the blurb about updating your progress. I think we should make it clear that if people sign up for testing/revising/writing a section but never give us an update, someone else will probably start working on the guide. This isn’t saying they have to be DONE in a week – just give us an update to know they are still working on it. This seems reasonable to me and will keep guides from remaining unwritten/unrevised for long periods of time.

So far i’ve completed 84% of this guide. I found the following errors :
1. The use button for Treant Muisek Vessel for the quest [50] Treant Muisek is missing. The TomTom arrow indicates a wrong spawn point. Moreover, there is one spawn point missing, the one near the grimtotem compound.
2. “Mountain Giank Muisek”=> The correct text is “Mountain GianT Muisek”. Moreover, the tip doesn’t indicate that you have to use the Muisek Vessel after you’ve killed the giant (it is on the text log though…). And the use button for the Muisek is missing.
3. “Abandon Again with the Zapped Giants” : abandonning this quest cause the TourGuide to rollback : the addon ask you to go again take the quest from the goblin.
4.” Improved Quality” : no arrow. It could also be nice to indicate in the tooltip : “Head to the yeti cave to the southwest and gather 10 Rage Scar Yeti Hide from the yetis.”
5. “Deliver to MacKinely” : it’s MacKinley.
Collect all mistakes youCollect all mistakes you find in that guide and post a comment here if you’re finished. We’ll add a link to that comment in the overview list and change it’s status to Needs Improvements, so that someone can take this task.
