Download and install the following Addons

  • WoW-Pro Leveling Addon – The base of the addon. Updated for patch 3.3
  • TomTom – Handles coordinates (It’s that arrow which points you to where you need to go). If you have Cartographer, you don’t need this, since Cartographer has it’s own arrow.
  • Lightheaded – Makes TomTom even better, make sure to install this addon or you won’t always get a TomTom arrow to show you the way.
  • WARNING: If you have QuestHelper installed, you should disable it, or at least disable the TomTom arrow option in Questhelper, or it will conflict with our addon and give you wrong directions. If you are not familiar with the installation of addons, it can be done as follows:
    1. Download and unzip the addon files.
    2. Navigate to the World of Warcraft directory
      • Windows XP: C:\Program FilesWorld of Warcraft
      • Windows Vista: C:\UsersPublicGamesWorld of Warcraft

    3. Open the “Interface” folder, then the “Addons” folder inside it.
    4. Copy and paste the “WoW-Pro”, “TomTom” and “Lightheaded” folders into the World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons directory.

You can check in-game if you’ve installed it correctly; when you go to the character selection screen, on the bottom left corner of the screen is a button called “Addons”. Click that, then scroll down and look for Lightheaded, TomTom and WoW-Pro (it’s in alphabetical order). Make sure they’re enabled.

It should look like this:

Once in game, you should see the TourGuide bar und

If this is a new character you just created, the correct guide should already be selected automatically.

If this is not a new character, click the TourGuide bar, a window will pop-up with a list of guides sorted by zones and level ranges:

Pick a guide close to your level and in a zone where you haven’t done all the quests.

There you go, just follow the addon!

For more information on how to use the addon, please visit the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon General Info Page.

If you want to help contributing by working on a section, please check the following links:

Even though it’s an in-game leveling addon, there are still a few things you need to know, and you’ll find them in each section of the guide below. They will contain information such as shopping lists, general information about the zone and other things which can’t be included in the addon for practical reasons. The addon will tell you to alt-tab back to the guide page whenever necessary, this will happen very rarely though, don’t worry, 99% of the guide is taken care of by the addon in-game!

    Tested the GuidesHello everyone,
ive tested nearly the whole guide (mulgore->ungoro+bc+wrath) and there were NO bugs.
so it worked completly, but i have to say that i were always 1-2 lvl above the noted lvls.
but this lvl was a great advantage, so i made nearly every hour a lvl till bc.
i went with 58 to Hellfire and it worked (but i wouldn do it again).

i spend 1 month with 7days and 12 hours in the game and got lvl 80.
but i spend also some time with leatherworking and anglin, so i could have got lvl 80 in 5-6 hours earlyer.

    this guide is GREAT

DK GuideHey James/Snowflake and whoever else is updating these guides… right now I am running the DK guide and the talents are outdated. The guide is telling me to get skills I’m not able to get/don’t have the points for.

I would update this myself but I’m not good with picking skills.

It’s composed by 2It’s composed by 2 parts:

    1) the arrow you talked about;
    2) the core of the addon, TourGuide.

Basically, Tourguide is a database where are included all the guides Jame has done -as well as other players’ guides – made in a format compatible with WoW. The addon can work without the arrow (Which is a part of another addon , TomTom) you have just to search yourself the coords. Now, TourGuide is combined with TomTom, which is a gps addon. It can be linked with other addons, not just Tourguide, and it shows the coordinate you are aiming on the map as well as the infamous arrow. You can also link coords from Lightheaded, for example. Now, Cartographer -recent versions- has a similar arrow pointing system which is IMO better than TomTom; plus, Cartographer includes a lot of nice addition that make the addon worth to download.

To sum it up, basically if you download the 2 addons and copy-paste the folders correctly, you will have an arrow on your screen leading to an objective that Tourguide wants you to “do”. It’s light and it dosen’t invade your screen at all.

You should see two things onYou should see two things on your screen if you have all the necessary addons: an arrow which points the way, and a little sentence telling you what to do, with a checkbox next to it. If you mouse over that sentence, you’ll see more detailed information. Most of the time, when you complete the step, it will heck off automatically and go to the next one, but sometimes you’ll need to check it off yourself.

Did you have the addonDid you have the addon TomTom or Cartographer? You need one of those two addons to use the arrow. The links are at the top of the page. Make sure you also have Lightheaded, or it won’t show arrows for quest givers.

Impressive and excitedHey Jame I am REALLY am impressed with your level of Activity on these comments and such and I personally have not used the addon or your guides due to the fact that I am currently deployed to afghanistan and am unable to access internet on my personal computer. I am ULTRA excited about using it during midtour and I really hope you keep updating even after I return from duty in afghanistan. Thank you very much for giving a service to the community and as soon as I am able to download the addon and use it I will give you money from my wallet because I know that it is time consuming and probably not too cheap to keep a thing like this update.

It’s an issue with TomTom, IIt’s an issue with TomTom, I believe. It isn’t able to handle the DK starter zone. The Horde version, at least, is coded with lots of details on where to go so that this shouldn’t matter.

    Quest glitch – Borean TundraHowdy!

After completing the quest “The Sub-Chieftains” the quest did not show up complete. I am not sure if this is an error from the add-on or the quest in relation to the add-on, however I figured you might like to add a note to click off after completion to continue with the guide.

    Happy questing,

After the quests Thick Hydra Scales, and Angling to Beat the Competition, then Hearthstoning to Cenarion Refuge, it states walk to Swamprat Post but gives the coordinates and waypoint for (27.8, 60.0) which Swamprat Post is at (84.5,55.0)

31-41I just installed the leveling guide addon last night. I started with the 31-41 as I was just barely into level 31. I leveled AMAZINGLY fast! I got from 31-35 last evening. Before that I was averaging a level a day. My only complaint is that the guides bump you to the next level as soon as you ding. I was only 66% of the way through the level 34 guide when I hit 35. The next level was 35-37. I finished that portion and am only sitting at a bar into 36. I’m going back to finish up the Tarren Mill quests that I dropped, hopefully this will finish me off.

Howling Fjord add-on coordinateThe add-on guide has greatly enhanced this site’s usefuless. Well done.

In the Howling Fjord add-on guide, ‘The Book of Runes’ coordinate given is 48,24 but there are no mobs in sight there. The dwarves to kill for the quest items are around 70,28.

Heh, done, and also, THIS isHeh, done, and also, THIS is the reason we originally disabled the default guides – because seriously more than half the people were using them thinking they were ours. The guides you were using were in fact not Jame’s guides at all.

Luckily Jahwo fixed this by simply listing our guides first in the addon, while still maintaining Tour Guide’s functionality and original guides.

Hey guys,I just wanted toHey guys,I just wanted to say thank for all the hard work you guys have been doing. I’ve been using these guide for about 4 months now and they’re amazing. Makes my life a lot easier been able to keep up with friends in game and live a normal social life hehe!

It might make your lifeIt might make your life easier, but it would also mean the addon would not be updated. All the guides that people work hard on and post here, all the community built around the addon, would be wasted if no one visited the site, not to mention that without visitors the site could not support itself through ads and would no longer remain running.

Jame has made it clear that he will not put his addon on any kind of third party site or automatic updater for this reason.

Badlands 41-42Thought I would write all of this before I forget.

I had a bit of trouble with the “Study of the elements : Rock” quests. I there’s another mix up with two quests of the same name. A) Told me i’d finished the quest when I hadn’t. B) Never told me to get the second part of it…I was lucky I decided to grab it anyway.

As well as that, I think it would be nice to add more level checks in, so we know if we’re on track or need to grind a bit.

31-41Ok, just finished 31-41. Not including what i’ve already posted:

-The “Mount up and ride back to Hammerfall” note should be on Foul Magics (Part 2) rather than The Broken Sigil, as Foul Magics is the quest we are told to turn in first.

-Tomtom points in the wrong direction when told to “Travel to the Badlands” for the first time.l

-Told to pick up the quest Lack of Surplus (Part 2) but then never do anything with it?

Also, I would like to mention that the order in which we are told to pick up quests should be looked at. I would often be told to take one of the two quests an NPC had to offer, walk to the other side of town, and then walk back again to take the second quest =(

I may have missed one or two things as my original notes paper was thrown out >.< But otherwise everything's A OK.
    Moving onto 41 - 51 ^_^

also. i have just finishedalso. i have just finished testing the 1-12 undead part of the guide. first of all a very good guide and accurate with the progress. however here are some things i found wrong with it. At war with the scarlet crusade part 3 and 4 needs cords. also i had a large problem with a new plague part 2. where you have to get the murloc fins. it did not pop up when i was in northern tirisfall and i went on without the proggres. it could have been my mistake but i doubt it since i did not get a message to hand it in. and finally i now have a 12 character from this guide. is there a particular section for that level that needs to be tested?

Arathi Basin 35-37Now, this is more of a problem with the actual guide…but I think that there shouldnt be any need to grind 10k or so experience near the end of the Arathi Basin part of the guide. Surely there are more quests that can be done to get this experience? I know I didn’t pick up a few while following the guide.

First off, let me say thankFirst off, let me say thank you so much for the hard work you are doing, and for being so clear in your bug reports.

I do have a request to make, however. Would it be possible to, instead of making a post for each individual bug, to continue to make notes and when you come to the end of the 31-41 section, make one post, or even just PM me, with all the bugs at once? This would probably make things easier for us. This would mean keeping track of bugs as you go in some sort of notepad file (or even good ole paper and pencil!)

I know this might be a little more work for you though, so feel free to keep doing it like this if you like 🙂
